Marvel Studios 'Doctor Strange 3' Gets A Big Update

Los Angeles, October 5 - A few months after Benedict Cumberbatch offered a disappointing update on the third instalment of Marvel Studios Doctor Strange, a new report has emerged which has sparked excitement among the fans. ## According to a new report from The InSneider (via The Direct), Marvel Studios is nearing a deal with Doctor Strange in the Multiverse of Madness director Sam Raimi to return and direct the trilogy-completing threequel.## Raimi previously helmed 2022's Doctor Strange in the Multiverse of Madness, taking over the franchise from initial Doctor Strange director Scott Derrickson. If the director officially comes on board for the next movie, it will be his 5th Marvel movie which also includes the Spider-Man trilogy starring Tobey Maguire. ## Doctor Strange 3 hasn't been officially announced yet but the rumours are making rounds for quite some time about its development. Moreover, Multiverse of Madness has been among the most successful MCU films post the Covid-19 pandemic despite the mixed reviews, so the third movie is bound to make its way to the screen. ## It is not yet clear when Doctor Strange 3 may release but Marvel has set a couple of untitled movie release dates in 2026. Box Office: Top 10 Opening Day For Hollywood Movies In India; 'Deadpool and Wolverine' 6th

Mumbai, July 27 - Marvel studios' superhero comedy Deadpool and Wolverine, starring Ryan Reynolds and Hugh Jackman, has taken a very good opening at the Indian box office with approximately 25.50 crores gross collection in all versions. ## The Shawn Levy's directorial blockbuster came a little above the projection to score the 6th biggest opening day for a Hollywood movie in India. It is easily the biggest Hollywood start in India for an A-rated title, beating Christopher Nolan's last year blockbuster Oppenheimer which minted approximately 17.25 crores gross.## For the Deadpool franchise, the third instalment has more than 2X opening of Deadpool 2 which opened to approximately 12.75 crores in 2018. First MCU Actor Confirmed For 'Avengers 5'

Los Angeles, June 22 - The Marvel Cinematic Universe (MCU) is getting closer to its first Avengers movie since Endgame (2019) as the Multiverse Saga continues to move forward with its Phase 5 slate in which three films are left before the beginning of the final Multiverse, Phase 6. ## The next Avengers movie, Avengers 5 will mark the beginning of the end for Marvel's multiverse storyline, and as things are moving thick and fast, a massive update finally out on the first confirmed MCU star to feature in the film. ## One of the biggest MCU names in the post-Endgame era, Doctor Strange star Benedict Cumberbatch has been confirmed to be the first actor to join the massive ensemble of Avengers 5. During a recent edition of Still Watching Netflix (via Screen Rant), Cumberbatch looked back at playing Doctor Strange and also spilt a bean on the next Avengers film. ## "This is Doctor Strange. He's a Marvel character and, well, I'll be really honest about it, the joy of playing him is immense. But also the joy of playing him means I can help create and platform stories and writing and less commercial fare into being. He's a gift in many, many ways in my life as a producer, and as an actor. I love playing him. He's great fun. I'm very much looking forward to Avengers next year, which is cooking up a storm", the actor said.## Avengers 5 was originally titled Avengers: Kang Dynasty, but assault charges against Jonathan Majors, who was set to headline the film as Kang, forced Marvel to fire him and look for other titles. Book My Show Reveals Top Ten Movies With Highest Number of Tickets Sold On Its Platform In 2022

Mumbai, December 20 - Book My Show, the leading ticketing platform in India, has unveiled the list of the top ten movies with the highest number of tickets sold on its platform in 2022. This year, the Indian film industry witnessed some of the biggest all-time blockbusters which scored huge collections at the box office. ## BMS didn't reveal the number of tickets sold but confirmed that Kannada biggie KGF: Chapter 2 led its ticket counts in 2022. The Yash-starrer is the highest-grossing Indian film of the year with over 1200 crores at the global box office. The movie scored an all-time record of selling 2.1 million tickets in a single day on BMS. ## SS Rajamouli's path-breaking period action drama film RRR is the second most-watched Indian movie this year, and also sold the second-highest number of tickets on BMS. The Jr. NTR and Ram Charan-fronted has so far grossed over 1140 crores at the worldwide box office and is the second highest-grossing Indian movie of the year. ## Hombale Films has been the most profitable production company of 2022 and along with "KGF 2", the studio's Kantara stunned everyone with its phenomenal box office run globally. Made on a budget of approx. 16 crores, the Rishab Shetty-starrer grossed approx. 410 crores worldwide and is at number 3 on BMS in the ticket sold. ## Vivek Agnihotri's drama The Kashmir Files, which shocked the nation by showing one of the darkest chapters of Indian history, scored the 4th highest number of tickets sold on BMS. The movie grossed over 335 crores worldwide against a budget of around 20 crores and is currently the second highest-grossing Bollywood movie of 2022. ## Mani Ratnam's Ponniyin Selvan Part - 1, which grossed approx. 490 crores worldwide, is at number 5 on BMS. Director Ayan Mukerji's ambitious Brahmastra Part One: Shiva sold the 6th highest number of tickets and grossed approx. 431 crores globally. 'Doctor Strange 2' Passes $900M And Tom Cruise's 'Top Gun 2' Flies Past $500M At The Worldwide Box Office

Mumbai, June 6 - Marvel/Dinsey's Doctor Strange in the Multiverse of The Madness has refused to slow down at the ticket window as it crossed the milestone of $900 million worldwide. The superhero movie has done this without a single penny from China, and Russia. ## The Sam Raimi-directed pic currently stands at an estimated $909.4 million through Sunday, as per Deadline. The worldwide cume of "Doctor Strange 2" includes $388.7M from domestic (North America) and $520.7M from the international box office. It reached the milestone in just 5 weeks. ## "Doctor Strange 2" could have crossed the $1 billion mark globally if released in China. When excluding China and Russia, the $909.4M worldwide cume makes Benedict Cumberbatch-starrer the No. 10 global and international MCU release out of 28 titles, surpassing "Spider-Man: Far From Home".## Meanwhile, Tom Cruise's Top Gun: Maverick is putting up an insane performance at the domestic (North America) as well as international box office. This ace flying sequel continues to power beyond expectations and passed the $500 million mark globally. ## Directed by Joseph Kosinski, "Top Gun 2" witnessed the lowest second-weekend drop ever for a movie opening with $100 million and more at the domestic box office. Box Office: Doctor Strange 2 Becomes Biggest Grosser of 2022 Worldwide

Mumbai, May 23 - Marvel Studios has once again claimed the top position at the box office as "Doctor Strange in the Multiverse of the Madness" has become the highest-grossing movie of 2022 at the worldwide box office. ## The superhero movie, directed by Sam Raimi, has crossed the $800 million global mark, which includes $342.1 million from domestic (North America) and $461.1 million from the international box office, for a total $803.2 million through 3rd weekend. The numbers become even more strong knowing the fact that the movie hasn't been released in China and Russia, two of the biggest movie markets. ## Among 28 Marvel Cinematic Universe films (and excluding China and Russia), "Doctor Strange 2" lands at No. 11 so far on a global basis. It is currently the only film of 2022 to top $800 million, and the second-highest-grossing Hollywood title during the covid-19 pandemic, after "Spider-Man: No Way Home" ($1.89 billion). Warner Bros' "The Batman" is the second-biggest movie of 2022 worldwide with $768 million. ## Among the top international markets, Korea remains the top contributor with $45.9M, followed by the UK ($43.8M), Mexico ($35.7M), Brazil ($29.2M), and Australia ($23M). Box Office: Doctor Strange 2 Tops 150 Crores Gross In India And Nears $700M Worldwide

Mumbai, May 16 - Marvel/Disney's "Doctor Strange in the Multiverse of the Madness" has completed two weekends at the Indian box office and scored a fantastic Rs 153 crores (est.) gross.## The superhero movie, directed by Sam Raimi, remained one of the first choices for the moviegoers over the first two weekends. While it completely outshined Hindi films, "Doctor Strange 2" competed with the likes of "Sarkaru Vaari Paata", and "Don" in the South belt and still managed to score some footfalls. ## The movie, starring Benedict Cumberbatch in the titular role, scored 104.69 crores net in the first week at the Indian box office and was the number 1 movie for the week all over India. During its second weekend, the sequel to 2016's movie managed to score about 15.50 crores net, pushing the total net collection to about 120 crores for all languages. It is currently the 6th highest-grossing non-domestic film in India and is likely to add a few more crores to finish around 135 crores net or 170 crores gross. ## Meanwhile, "Doctor Strange 2" is nearing $700 million at the worldwide box office. Box Office: Doctor Strange 2 Breaks Into 100 Crores Net Club In India

Mumbai, May 13 - Marvel is the biggest non-domestic movie brand in India and it has been proved once again with the studios' latest superhero flick, "Doctor Strange in the Multiverse of the Madness". ## Directed by the maverick Sam Raimi, "Doctor Strange 2" has crossed the prestigious 100 crores net mark at the Indian box office and becomes the second non-domestic film in 5 months to reach the figure. Earlier, Marvel/Sony's "Spider-Man: No Way Home" did it with ease and went on to score over 260 crores gross. ## The sequel to 2016's movie has broken into the 100 crores net club in the first week itself with Rs. 104 crores for all languages.
