Mumbai, May 10 - Aditya Roy Kapur and Mrunal Thakur will be sharing screen space for the first time in the Hindi remake of the Tamil hit, "Thadam". Based on true events, the film has been titled "Gumraah". ## Directed by Vardhan Ketkar, "Gumraah" second shooting schedule has commenced today in Mumbai. Ronit Roy has also joined the cast and begins filming for his portion. It is a crime thriller movie in which Aditya Roy Kapoor will be seen in a double role for the very first time and Mrunal will be seen playing a cop.## "Aditya Roy Kapur has completed the first schedule and will begin the second schedule today along with Mrunal Thakur, who has kick-started the second schedule in Mumbai. Hindi Remakes Of Tamil Blockbusters 'Vikram Vedha' & 'Thadam' Go On Floors On The Occasion Of Dussehra

Mumbai, October 15 - On the auspicious occasion of Dussehra, two of the most anticipated Hindi remakes of the Tamil blockbuster movies, "Vikram Vedha" and "Thadam" have started filming. Both "Vikram Vedha" and "Thadam", went through some big changes before makers finally took the films on floors on October 15. ## Vikram Vedha is a gangster cop drama film that stars Hrithik Roshan and Saif Ali Khan in the lead roles along with Rohit Saraf and Radhika Apte. Hrithik steps in the shoes of Vijay Sethupathi from the original film and plays a gangster while Saif Ali Khan reprises R Madhavan's role of a cop. Pushkar – Gayatri (a husband-wife duo), who helmed the original Vikram Vedha, are also on board to direct the Hindi version as well. ## The film draws from the ancient lore of Vikram-Betaal, where a wily gangster manages to escape every time a determined cop nabs him, by narrating a new story drawn from his own life. It is being produced by Reliance Entertainment, T-Series, and Y Not Studios. The first schedule of the film is being shot in UAE. The remake stars Aditya Roy Kapur and Mrunal Thakur in the leading roles. It is an action thriller film in which police officers try to solve a murder case involving lookalike suspects arrested on the basis of pictorial evidence.## The Hindi version of Thadam is being directed by Vardhan Ketkar in his directorial debut while Bhushan Kumar and Murad Khetani have bankrolled it under their banners of T-Series and Cine1 Studios. Mrunal Thakur Joins Aditya Roy Kapur In Thadam Hindi Remake

Mumbai, September 6, 2021: Bollywood filmmakers continue to make Hindi remakes of South Indian films. Keeping the trend going, producers, Bhushan Kumar and Murad Khetani recently announced the Hindi remake of Tamil hit, Thadam. The movie went through casting changes as Sidharth Malhotra opted out of the project and Aditya Roy Kapur stepped in as the lead. ## While Sidharth Malhotra was out of the project, Mrunal Thakur remained attached to this project from the very beggning. The makers have now reconfirmed her appearance as the female lead in the movie. Mrunal will play a fiery cop in the actioner that revolves around two lookalikes who are the primary suspects in a murder case. ## "When I heard the story, I instantly knew that I needed to be a part of this film. My character is intriguing, and playing a cop has been on my checklist. This will be distinct from all the characters I have played till now", Mrunal told mid-day. ## On Monday (September 6), the Batla House actress took to social media and shared a picture with Aditya Roy Kapur and wrote, "It's time for a face-off!! #AdityaRoyKapur are you ready? It will be produced by Bhushan Kumar and Murad Khetani under their respective production banners T-Series and Cine 1 Studios. The movie will hit screens worldwide in 2022. ## Meanwhile, Mrunal Thakur, who was recently seen in Rakeysh Omprakash Mehra's directorial "Toofaan", co-starring Farhan Akhtar, will next be seen in the Hindi remake of Telugu blockbuster "Jersey". It's Official: Aditya Roy Kapur To Headline Hindi Remake Of Tamil Blockbuster Thadam

Mumbai, July 29, 2021: Last year, on March 4, Kabir Singh producer Murad Khetani announced his next film as the Hindi remake of Tamil blockbuster Thadam, in association with Bhushan Kumar of T-Series. However, due to the covid-19 pandemic, the movie couldn't go on floors as scheduled in May.## The film that was supposed to be headlined by Sidharth Malhotra and Mrunal Thakur finally went on floors in November last year with major changes. However, earlier this year, Sidharth did object to the new screenplay which resulted in, the actor opted out of the movie that put a brake on the further proceedings.## And now, Bhushan Kumar and Murad Khetani have roped in Aditya Roy Kapur, as reported earlier, in the remake of Arun Vijay starrer. The Hindi remake of Thadam will be directed by debutant Vardhan Ketkar and it will go on floors in September this year. Apart from Adi, Mrunal said to remain a part of the cast as the female lead. This will also be Aditya's first double role ever. ## "I am excited and inspired to be a part of telling such an interesting story. The original film was incredibly riveting and entertaining, and it left a lasting impression on me. As an actor, getting a chance to do a double role is double the preparation and double the challenge, and I'm certainly up for it. We all mutually agreed he will fit the characters in this as well".## Since the release of Thadam in 2019, producer Murad Khetani was keen to make the film for the Hindi audience. Talking about the film he shared, "When I watched Thadam I instantly knew that this story needs to reach the masses. Soon after I reached out to the Tamil makers and acquired the rights of making this film in Hindi. When I shared the story with Bhushanji, he came on board immediately.
