Superstar Shah Rukh Khan Emerges Winner of The 2023 TIME100 Reader Poll

Mumbai, April 7 - Bollywood superstar Shah Rukh Khan has emerged as the winner of the 2023 TIME100 poll, in which readers voted for the individuals they felt most deserved a spot on TIME's annual list of the most influential people. ## Shah Rukh Khan earned 4% of the vote after more than 1.2 million votes were cast. The superstar was competing with some of the most influential people in the world such as actor Michelle Yeoh, athlete Serena Williams, Meta CEO Mark Zuckerberg, Brazilian President Luiz Inácio Lula da Silva, and Argentian footballer Lionel Messi. ## Having done more than 100 films, Shah Rukh Khan is top of the game at the moment after the historic blockbuster success of Yash Raj Films' "Pathaan" which was released in January this year and grossed over 1050 crores worldwide. He is also a film producer and co-owner of the Knight Riders Group cricket teams.## On the work front, SRK will next be seen in director Atlee's Pan India movie "Jawan" which is scheduled to release on June 2 this year. New York, September 16, 2021: The American news magazine and news website, Time has released the list of 100 most influential people in the world. The magazine inculdes people from different fields who played the part in brignig changes to world in some way such as politics, sports, films, and others in this quoted list. ## Titanic and Oscar winner actor Kate Winslet along with Black Widow star Scarlett Johansson, Oscar-winning director Chloe Zhao, singer-songwriter Britney Spears are among the celebrities who made it to the Time 100 list for most influential people of 2021. The list also include Judas and the Black Messiah actor Daniel Kaluuya, Minari's Steven Yeun, among others. ## The inclusion of Scarlett Johansson in the list is the result of her ongoing legal face-off with Walt Disney Co. Johansson is in red hot talks in Hollywood after she filed a lawsuit against Disney that released "Black Widow" day and date on Disney Plus, which, the actress allaged, the breach of her contract and the hybrid release cost her at least $50 million. ## Jamie Lee Curtis, who picked Johansson for Time 100, explained the reason behind her inclusion. "I recently watched her own the screen as the Black Widow, who exacts revenge on a powerful figure who manipulates (emphasis on man) women to fight for him. And then I saw her brilliant response to a real-life manipulation (same emphasis), when she filed a breach-of-contract lawsuit against the studio, alleging its decision to release the film simultaneously in theaters and on streaming cost her substantial losses in pay".## On the other hand, Kate Winslet, who had won Oscar for the Best Actress for "The Reader", is continue to inspire after so many years with her path breaking portrayls on the screen. And now, she is winning accolades for her critically-acclaimed portrayal of suburban Philly detective Mare Sheehan in HBO Max's crime drama series, which is the reason behind her inclusion in the list of Time 100. ## Meanwhile, among the Indian inclusions, Prime Minster Narendra Modi along with West Bengal Chief Minister Mamata Banerjee, and Serum Institute of India CEO Adar Poonawalla have been named in the list.
