Sam Raimi Explained Why He Made His Spider-Man Trilogy

Marvel wouldn't have been the same without Spider-Man, of course, there are other characters that make Marvel look perfect, but Spider-Man holds a special place. With time, the Spider-Man character has been rebooted twice, folded into the MCU, and starred in an Oscar-winning animated movie which made a huge influence in multiple ways across Hollywood. ## However, it was Sam Raimi, whose earnestness of making the Spider-Man trilogy (2002, 2004, 2007) kept those movies head and shoulders above many of the other Marvel adaptations of the time and made him the favorite Spider-Man director. Taking part in a Reddit AMA on March 31, Raimi was asked "why" he made the movies to begin with, and his answer was just as touching as his take on Spider-Man.## "I directed the first Spider-Man film because I was such a huge fan of Stan Lee's brilliant character. Peter Parker and Spider-Man were an important part of my teenage years. I thought it was very moving how much he sacrificed for others. How hard he worked to protect innocent people. And all the while had to take care of his Aunt May and do his homework to boot. His self-sacrifice resonated with me. He was truly a good person", Raimi wrote. ## "We can identify with Characters in a comprehensible story. Stories of heroes, like Peter Parker, remind us of what we are capable of. Vicky Kaushal, Kiara Advani, And Bhumi Pednekar In Shashank Khaitan's Next?

Filmmaker Shashank Khaitan was set to direct Varun Dhawan and Janhvi Kapoor in the comedy film, Mr. Lele. The makers even released a poster of the film with a title featuring Dhawan, however, the movie was shelved last year around this time after Varun Dhawan reportedly expressed his displeasure over the script. ## Now, Shashank Khaitan is reviving the project but not with Varun and Janhvi. According to a leading entertainment portal, Vicky Kaushal has been roped in to play the role which was supposed to be played by Dhawan. The film, which is no longer titled Mr. Lele, is said to have two leading actresses in Kiara Advani and Bhumi Pednekar. ## While the official announcement is due, the movie with a new title went on floors last week with Vicky and Kiara while Bhumi, who recently completed the social comedy "Badhai Do" with Rajkummar Rao, will join them soon. ## Khaitan's film will be Kaushal's first comedy movie and second film with Kiara Advani after the 2018 anthology "Lust Stories" with their segment being directed by Karan Johar. Meanwhile, Vicky will be seen in Vijay Krishna Acharya's next with Manushi Chhillar, in Shoojit Sircar's Sardar Udham, Aditya Dhar's The Immortal Ashwathama, and in the Sam Manekshaw biopic. ## On the other hand, Kiara Advani has Jug Jugg Jeeyo, Shershaah and Bhool Bhulaiyaa 2 in the pipeline while Bhumi Pednekar has Badhaai Do coming up next. Hrithik Roshan To Star As Vedha In The Hindi Adaptation Of Tamil Movie 'Vikram Vedha'?

From the last couple of months, there have been speculations about Hrithik Roshan starring in the Hindi remake of 2017's Tamil movie, "Vikram Vedha". Since Hrithik is already in talks with filmmakers for multiple projects, it wasn't sure when will he begin this action thriller as he didn't give his nod back then. ## However, it is now reported that the actor has given his nod and locked this film as his next. According to a report in Pinkvilla, Hrithik will essay the role of a gangster 'Vedha' which was played by Vijay Sethupathi in the original Vikram Vedha while Saif Ali Khan is reportedly playing Vikram. The report also suggests that the director duo, Pushkar–Gayathri who helmed the original, will be returning to direct the Hindi remake too. ## While the title for the Hindi remake is yet to be locked, it has been said that the movie will go on floors this summer as pre-production work is going on at a rapid pace.
