Mumbai, April 16 - The Farhan Akhtar's directorial action thriller Don 3 starring Ranveer Singh was back in the news recently for unwanted reasons when it was revealed that Kiara Advani backed out of playing the female lead due to her pregnancy. ## The news of Kiara leaving the film left the makers searching for another able actress to play the role, but it didn't take much time of makers to find the leading lady to star opposite Ranveer. According to the report by Bollywood Hungama, Akhtar has locked Munjya fame Sharvari Wagh to replace the outgoing actress. ## "Sharvari and one more actress were being considered, but the former has managed to bag the role. The team at Excel Entertainment are excited to have her on board. Sharvari, too, is quite kicked to be a part of such a huge franchise", says the report. ## The shoot of Don 3 is expected to start by the end of this year for a grand 2026 release. Mumbai, January 28 - Back in August 2023, filmmaker Farhan Akhtar announced the next chapter in the Don franchise. Ranveer Singh was confirmed to carry the baton forward as the next Don, replacing superstar Shah Rukh Khan who reportedly denied taking on the role due to some reasons. ## The casting of Ranveer Singh came as a surprise to many but the makers seemed confident about it. Now, according to the report by Filmfare, Farhan Akhtar has locked actor Vikrant Massey to play the antagonist role, which was unexpected. ## The report didn't reveal much about the casting except that Massey would be playing the role of a villain against Don who is himself an anti-hero. The actor shared the news on his Instagram account and confirmed that 2025 will be the end of his acting career.## "The last few years and beyond have been phenomenal. I thank each and every one of you for your indelible support. But as I move forward, I realise it's time to recalibrate and go back home. As a Husband, Father & a Son. And also as an Actor", the actor said.## Confirming the retirement "until time deems right", Vikrant added, "So coming 2025, we would meet each other for one last time. Until time deems right. The last 2 movies and many years of memories. Thank you again. For everything and everything in between. Mumbai, July 6 - Bollywood stars Ajay Devgn and Tabu's Auron Mein Kahan Dum Tha has been announced to release on August 2, 2024. The romantic thriller is directed by Neeraj Pandey and also stars Jimmy Sheirgill, Shantanu Maheshwari, and Saiee Manjrekar playing pivotal roles. ## Produced by Friday Filmworks, NH Studioz, and Panorama Studios, Auron Mein Kahan Dum Tha was scheduled to be released in July but the makers postponed it to avoid a clash with Prabhas-fronted Kalki 2898 AD which is performing brilliantly at the Hindi box office. ## As reported earlier, the makers also discussed releasing the film on July 26 but eventually decided on August 2. Mumbai, May 3 - Aamir Khan's production venture, Laapataa Ladies was released theatrically on March 1st before going to digital after the 8 weeks of the box office run. However, in a positive indication, the movie witnessed a minor jump in its 9th week after the OTT release. ## Directed by Kiran Rao, Laapataa Ladies has been hailed as one of the best Indian films of 2024 but the lack of star power proved a roadblock in its box office journey. However, after the spread of word of mouth due to the OTT release, the movie has witnessed an upward trend at the box office. ## In its 9th week, the rural comedy-drama jumped by around 10% but the overall collection remained low with approximately 37 lakh. The total collection of the film is approximately 18 crores net (21.25 crores gross) after 9 weeks and seeing the positive trend in the collection in the last week, it might have a chance to top 20 crores net in the full run. ## Recently, Vikrant Massey's 12th Fail also witnessed the same trend where its collection jumped after the OTT release for three consecutive weeks and the same can be seen with Laapataa Ladies. The last two films of the actress, OMG 2 and Article 370 emerged as big box office hits and at the same time, found audiences on their post-theatrical digital premiere. ## Article 370 is one of the major Bollywood successes and is one of the only six Bollywood movies of 2024 to cross the 100 crores gross mark at the worldwide box office. The movie was recently made available on Netflix on which the viewership of the film jumped in the second week. ## After scoring 5.6 million viewing hours from 2.1 million views in the first 3-day weekend, Article 370 jumped into the top 3 most viewed non-English Netflix films worldwide in its second week with 9.7 million viewing hours from 3.7 million views.
