Mumbai, July 19 - Director Mohit Suri's Saiyaara had a monstrous first day at the box office, which saw it beating all the Bollywood films of 2025 except Vicky Kaushal's historical action drama, Chhaava, on the online ticketing platform, Book My Show.## The romantic drama sold approximately 4,20,000 tickets on the first day of its release on Book My Show, which is the second biggest for Bollywood this year. Chhaava had sold around 6,69,000 tickets on BMS on the first day of its release on February 14. ## Saiyaara, on its way to the huge opening, has beaten the first-day ticket count of some of the big-budget Bollywood titles of the year, and this is a massive feat for a movie featuring newcomers. Kochi, July 19 - Superstar Rajinikanth's gangster action drama Coolie is easily the most hyped Tamil and one of the most anticipated Indian movies of the year. The film is directed by Lokesh Kanagaraj, and this marks his first collaboration with the superstar. ## The theatrical rights of Coolie have reportedly been locked in most areas, and the details about the film's Kerala distribution rights have been revealed. The makers officially announced on Friday that Hassan Meenu Associates has acquired the film's rights to release in the state, and according to reliable reports, the deal is locked for 14 crores. ## Biggest deal for a Rajinikanth-starrer but fails to beat Leo and The GOAT among Tamil movies in Kerala ## Despite the record-breaking theatrical deal for a Rajinikanth-starrer, Coolie falls behind Thalapathy Vijay's Leo and The Greatest of All Time in Kerala. The movie surpassed all pre-release trade projections by a substantial margin. ## According to early estimates, the film has earned a net collection of around 20-21 crores on its first day. There is an intense competition at the moment at the Hindi box office among the Bollywood and Hollywood titles, which is making it difficult for the movie to get the desired showcasing. ## There was a capacity issue with Saiyaara on the first day, but the good thing is that the word of mouth is positive, and the arrangements are already being made to increase the showcasing over the weekend, which was inevitable given the huge opening. ## A big spike in Saiyaara's business is very much expected on Saturday and Sunday, as it will be aiming for 70-80 crores net opening weekend, which is a sensational start. Jurassic World: Rebirth, the latest instalment in the beloved sci-fi franchise, has officially entered the 100 crore gross club in India within just 15 days of its release, becoming only the second Hollywood film of 2025 to reach the mark after Mission: Impossible – The Final Reckoning. ## A Roaring Start ## Released on July 4, 2025, Jurassic World: Rebirth opened to an impressive 11 crores gross on Day 1. Thanks to the positive word of mouth, the movie emerged as the weekend topper, by grossing approximately 47 crores in the first 3-days. ## As positive word-of-mouth and steady weekday traction kept audiences coming, the film's earnings continued to build. Mumbai, July 18 - The hugely-awaited trailer of Yash Raj Films' spy action thriller War 2 has reportedly been censored by the Central Board of Film Certification (CBFC), and it is set to be dropped online next week, ahead of the film's Independence Day weekend release on August 14. ## According to the reports, the trailer of the movie was censored today, July 18, and the CBFC has granted it a 'U/A' (16+) certificate. The trailer, 2 minutes and 39 seconds long, and said to be packed with action and emotional scenes, and is the hype raiser. ## When will the War 2 trailer be released? ## The official release date of the War 2 trailer launch has not been revealed yet, but reports say that it will drop online around July 24 or 25, nearly 3 weeks before the release date. Hyderabad, July 18 - Director Sekhar Kammula's crime drama film Kuberaa, starring Dhanush, Nagarjuna, and Rashmika Mandanna, was released on June 20 and turned out to be a hit at the worldwide box office with a collection of approximately 138 crores gross. ## Produced by Sree Venkateswara Cinemas LLP and Amigos Creations, the film was simultaneously shot in Telugu and Tamil. The movie is about a beggar, who undergoes a dramatic transformation, exploring themes of greed, ambition, and moral dilemmas faced by the characters leading to a quest for redemption. ## Kuberaa OTT Release ## The post-theatrical streaming rights of Kuberaa were acquired by Amazon Prime Video, and the film began streaming from 18 July in Tamil, Telugu, Hindi, Malayalam and Kannada languages, after completing 28 days of theatrical run. ## The short 4-week theatrical window has become the norm for South Indian movies after the COVID-19 pandemic. Los Angeles, July 18 - Disney's science fiction comedy Lilo & Stitch has ended the wait for Hollywood to score its first $1 billion grosser of the year. Interestingly, the movie was originally planned for Disney+ streaming. ## The studio officially announced on Thursday that Lilo & Stitch has topped $1 billion at the worldwide box office through Wednesday (July 16), after grossing $416.2 million at the domestic (North America) and $584.8 million at the overseas box office, for the worldwide cume total of $1.001 billion. ## Among the biggest international markets for the movie, Mexico topped with $67 million, followed by the United Kingdom with $49 million, France with $42.4 million, Brazil with $37.4 million, and Germany with $32.5 million. ## Overall, Lilo and Stitch is the 57th movie ever to gross $1 billion and more at the global box office, including China's Ne Zha 2, which is the only non-Hollywood title in the list of billion-dollar grossers. Mumbai, July 18 - Yash Raj Films' romantic drama Saiyaara hits the big screen today after scoring the second biggest advance booking of the year for a Bollywood title, beating the big budget titles like Salman Khan's Sikandar and Akshay Kumar's Housefull 5. ## Directed by Mohit Suri and starring Ahaan Pandey and Aneeth Padda in their big screen debut, the pre-sales of Saiyaara have stunned one and all. ## Saiyaara Sold Second Best Advance Tickets For Bollywood In 2025 ## The film has sold approximately 195,000 tickets on its first day at the three national chains (PVR, INOX, and Cinepolis), which is the second-highest of the year, behind Vicky Kaushal's Chhaava (225,000 tickets). Overall, Saiyaara has sold approximately 380,000 tickets nationwide for the opening day, which is again the second-best. ## In terms of advance booking gross collection, Saiyaara (9.40 crores) is the third among the 2025 Bollywood movies, behind Chhaava (13.80 crores) and Sikandar (10.10 crores). It is probably the biggest pre-sales ever for an Indian movie featuring newcomers. ## Saiyaara Eyes 25 Crore Net Opening Day Collection ## The box office projections for the movie have kept getting changed with each passing hour, and the reason being is the strong advance booking momentum. Before the bookings opened, the movie was projected to open in the range of 5-6 crores, but the projection quickly went up to double digits after the initial response. ## Considering how the advances have progressed, the film is now looking to open in the range of 20-25 crores net, with the strong possibility of opening around the higher end of the projection. Trade experts also believe the opening can be much higher, simply because the film has momentum with it, which might overcome even the optimistic projection, which needs to be seen. ## Stay tuned...
