Mumbai, August 16 - Sunny Deol-fronted epic war drama Border 2 is easily one of the most-awaited Indian movies. The movie, which is the sequel to 1997's epic blockbuster Border, was announced earlier this year with Sunny returning to reprise his role and Anurag Singh taking the directorial duty. ## Recently, it was reported that Punjabi superstar Diljit Dosanjh was roped in to play a prominent role in the movie and now, according to the report by Pinkvilla, Bollywood star Varun Dhawan has signed on for Border 2 and the actor will headline the film along with Sunny Deol.## "Border 2 is the biggest film in Indian Cinema in the making, and the team is making it even bigger with the casting by getting Varun Dhawan to play a major role in the tale with Sunny Deol. Box Office: 'Khel Khel Mein' And 'Vedaa' Opening Day Early Estimates

Mumbai, August 15 - Amid the box office juggernaut of Stree 2, Akshay Kumar-fronted comedy drama Khel Khel Mein and John Abraham-starrer action drama Vedaa were battling it out to come second and it is the latter one which won the race by a fair margin.## According to the early estimates, the John Abraham-led scored in the range of 6.50-7 crores net on its opening day. It is a fair opening considering a 3-way clash. It was always going to be difficult for the movie to score due to Stree 2 which was easily the first choice of the moviegoers but Vedaa did decently overcome that challenge.## The occupancy of Vedaa showed improvement throughout the opening day, especially post-noon shows. The opening of the film is above the projections by a decent margin which can be seen as a good sign. The initial word of mouth seems to be mixed and it needs to be seen how it fairs in the coming days.## Akshay Kumar's Khel Khel Mein showed a significant improvement over the actor's last movie Sarfira but the overall opening remained low to the standard of Akshay who has continuously delivered very good starts at the box office.## According to the early estimates, the comedy-drama scored in the range of 5 crores net on its first day which is in sync with projections. King will be directed by Sujoy Ghosh, and it will also star SRK's daughter Suhana Khan in her big-screen debut. Talking about the movie, the Pathaan star said, "The next film that I am doing is King. Box Office: 'Laila Majnu' Re-Release Scores Very Good Opening Weekend

Mumbai, August 12 - Avinash Tiwary and Triptii Dimri's romantic drama Laila Majnu was recently re-released amid the growing trend and to everyone's surprise, the movie has been doing fantastically at the box office unlike its original run back in 2018.## The Ekta Kapoor-produced heartbreaking tale of romance went unnoticed when it was first released in 2018 and grossed just a little over 3 crores at the Indian box office. However, the film's popularity grew over the years and it found appreciation among the audiences, thanks to television and OTT platforms.## In the 3-day opening weekend of its re-release, Laila Majnu grossed approximately 2.15 crores which is higher than the first weekend of its original run. The movie started with approximately 25 lakh net collection before jumping by 200% on Saturday to 75 lakh net. On Sunday, the movie crossed the 1 crore gross mark, to around 1.15 crores. ## This is the first instance in recent times that a Bollywood re-release has touched the 1 crore mark in a single day at the domestic box office. It will be interesting to see how the movie trends during the weekdays, also it is running out of time in its pursuit to top its original run as there are multiple big releases scheduled from August 15. ## The movie, however, can take inspiration from Ranbir Kapoor's recently re-released Rockstar which grossed over 10 crores in India. Avinash Tiwary and the new Bollywood sensation Triptii Dimri's romantic drama Laila Manju can be one of those few films. ## Released in 2018, Sajid Ali's directorial largely went unnoticed in its original run with a domestic collection of approximately 3.25 crores gross despite getting critical acclaim. It was re-released a couple of days back amid the growing popularity of the re-release of classic films, and to everyone's surprise, the movie is doing well.## After playing with a couple of shows for over a week since August 2, Laila Majnu grossed approximately 25 lakh on the first day of its proper re-release (August 9, Friday). As the word of mouth grew, the movie witnessed a 200% jump on Saturday to gross approximately 75 lakh collection.## Laila Majnu has topped a 1 crore gross collection in the first 2 days of its re-release which is an excellent figure. Mumbai, August 10 - As expected, the pre-sales of Shraddha Kapoor and Rajkummar Rao-fronted horror-comedy Stree 2 have taken a very good start in India and have already crossed the final opening day booking of some of the recent movies featuring bankable stars.## Stree 2, directed by Amar Kaushik, is easily the biggest Bollywood movie of the month which Akshay Kumar's Khel Khel Mein and John Abraham's Vedaa are also releasing. Box Office: 'Auron Mein Kahan Dum Tha' and 'Ulajh' Score Disastrous First Week

Mumbai, August 9 - It was a hugely disappointing week for Bollywood with two new releases, Auron Mein Kahan Dum Tha and Ulajh bombed at the box office. Both movies were not only unable to attract footfall but were awful from the opening day which led to a disastrous first week. ## The Ajay Devgn-fronted romantic thriller Auron Mein Kahan Dum Tha was expected to score a decent collection even though the buzz was not there for that to happen. The opening below 2 crores net mark sealed its fate as it scored disappointing around 10 crores net opening week. ## It is one of the lowest opening weeks for an Ajay Devgn-starrer in the last 2 decades and easily the lowest by far in the last decade. It has been no starter from the beginning and it will finish below the 15 crore mark as one of the major disastrous of the last few years.## Janhvi Kapoor-fronted thriller Ulajh which was released on the same day as AMKDT also met the same fate with a disappointing first week of around 7 crores net collection and the lifetime will likely be the same as AMKDT.## Ulajh, after the poor opening, did show a better trend than the Ajay Devgn-starrer but there wasn't much audience for it to capitalize on that as the overall collection remained low throughout the first week. ## The attention now shifts to the Independence Day weekend which will see the much-anticipated horror-comedy Stree 2 taking on Akshay Kumar's Khel Khel Mein and John Abrahm's Vedaa.
