Box Office: 'The Greatest of All Time (The GOAT)' Tops 200 Crore In Tamil Nadu; Becomes Third Movie To Do So

Chennai, September 21 - Thalapathy Vijay's action thriller The Greatest of All Time has emerged as a huge blockbuster in the home state, Tamil Nadu where it has crossed 200 crore gross collection and become only the third movie of all time to archive the feat. ## Despite the mixed reviews, The GOAT has been on the rampage mode since it was released on September 5 and has done the unthinkable by entering the 200 crore club in the state. It topped the milestone on its third Saturday (17th day). ## Directed by Venkat Prabhu, The GOAT (204 crore gross) is the third movie after Leo (215+ crore gross) and Ponniyin Selvan: Part 1 (213 crore gross) to reach the 200 crore mark in TN. 'Kanguva' New Release Date Announced

Chennai, September 19 - Tamil star Suriya's much-anticipated fantasy action drama Kanguva is set to hit the big screens in the mid-November 2024 after the makers officially postponed it from October 10 release to avert a clash with superstar Rajinikanth's Vettaiyan. ## Directed by Siva, Kanguva will be released on November 14 in Tamil, Telugu, Hindi, Malayalam, and Kannada. No Solo Release For Suriya's Pan India Movie 'Kanguva'?

Chennai, September 18 - Tamil star Suriya's much-awaited Pan India movie Kanguva has been delayed to avert a clash with superstar Rajinikanth's Vettaiyan. Directed by Siva, the film was supposed to be released on October 10 in multiple languages. ## A new release date of Kanguva is yet to be announced but reports say it is eyeing to release in November, either on Diwali or two weeks later. Chennai, September 17 - Thalapathy Vijay's action thriller The Greatest of All Time has topped 400 crores gross collection at the worldwide box office, becoming the first Tamil movie of 2024 and the 6th overall to achieve the feat. ## Directed by Venkat Prabhu, The GOAT surpassed the box office milestone on its 12th day after scoring another approximately 10 crores gross on its 2nd Monday which took its total worldwide cume to around 407 crores. Chennai, September 16 - Tamil star Ajith Kumar has two films in the pipeline in the form of action thriller Vidaamuyarchi, directed by Magizh Thirumeni and an action comedy Good Bad Ugly with director Adhik Ravichandran. ## As already announced, Good Bad Ugly is eyeing the Pongal 2025 release, however, there might be some changes regarding the same. Box Office: Thalapathy Vijay's 'The GOAT' Scored Second Biggest Tamil Opening of All Time

Chennai, September 6 - Thalapathy Vijay's action thriller The Greatest of All Time has had a sensational opening at the worldwide box office with 100 crores gross collection, making it only the second Tamil movie of all time to do so, after Leo.## Directed by Venkat Prabhu, The GOAT scored approximately 52 crores gross collection in India and 48 crores overseas for 100 crores gross start. This is the second biggest opening for a Tamil title at the worldwide box office after Thalapathy Vijay's Leo which grossed approx. 142 crores. ## The GOAT is the 12th Indian movie to take the opening of 100 crores or more globally, and it is the 9th South Indian film to do so. In 2024, it scored the second biggest opening for an Indian title after Prabhas-fronted Kalki 2898 AD. Domestically, it scored third best start of the year after Kalki and Stree 2.## The Greatest of All Time is produced by AGS Entertainment and is the penultimate film of Thalapathy Vijay before his political entry. Box Office: 'The Greatest of All Time' Opening Day Early Estimates

Chennai, September 5 - One of the biggest films of the year, Thalapathy Vijay's action thriller The Greatest of All Time was released on the big screens on September 5 amid huge anticipation. The movie received mixed to positive reception from the audience, but it didn't stop the movie from taking a huge opening at the box office. ## Thalapathy Vijay has proved in the past that his movies are critic-proof and have scored a big collection at the box office. The GOAT, as far as the opening is concerned, is proving critics' reviews as a secondary thing once again. ## According to the early estimates, The GOAT is expected to score 28-30 crores in gross collection in the home state, Tamil Nadu. The TN collection might vary depending on offline ticket sales in smaller centres which is a massive aspect of South Indian movies. ## Outside Tamil Nadu, the action thriller is looking to score in the range of 9 crores gross collection in Karnataka, and 6+ crores gross in Kerala. In North India, the movie is expected to gross 2.50 crores. ## Overall, The GOAT is expected to gross around 50+ crores (42-43 crores net) at the domestic collection which is by far the biggest opening for a Tamil title this year and one of the biggest of all time. Chennai, September 5 - Thalapathy Vijay's penultimate movie The Greatest of All Time has been released on the big screen amid massive anticipation. The movie is directed by Venkat Prabhu and produced by AGS Entertainment on a budget of around 400 crores. ## The GOAT had early morning shows in Telugu states and as per the initial audience reception, the movie is a mixed bag of everything. Hyderabad, September 3 - The much-awaited Tamil action thriller The Greatest of All Time has scored the record pre-release theatrical business for Thalapathy Vijay in Telugu states (Andhra Pradesh and Telangana). ## Vijay's popularity has been soaring across the country, especially among the Telugu audience with each passing film which has been reflected in the theatrical business.
