'Kanguva' Scores Record Post-Theatrical Streaming Deal For Suriya

Chennai, September 3 - One of the most-anticipated Pan Indian movies Kanguva has scored the record post-theatrical streaming deal for actor Suriya. The movie is directed by Siva and also stars Bobby Deol and Disha Patani in prominent roles. ## According to Forum Reelz, Amazon Prime Video has acquired the post-theatrical streaming rights of Kanguva for all languages. The streaming giant has paid a whopping 100 crores to grab the rights and this is the biggest streaming deal for Suriya. ## Produced by Studio Green and UV Creations, Kanguva was supposed to hit the big screens on October 10 but has now been postponed to November 2024 in order to avert a clash with superstar Rajinikanth's Vettaiyan which is scheduled for Pan India release on Dussehra. ## Kanguva is a story that travels 500 years from the 1700s to 2023 about a Hero who has to fulfil a mission left unfinished. Complete Main Cast of Superstar Rajinikanth-Fronted 'Coolie' Announced

Chennai, September 2 - Blockbuster director Lokesh Kanagaraj teamed up with superstar Rajinikanth for the first time for an action drama film, titled Coolie. The movie, produced by Sun Pictures, is shaping up to be one of the most-anticipated movies of 2025. ## Over the last few days, the makers have been introducing the main cast of the film with the first-look character posters. On August 28, Malayalam actor Soubin Shahir was introduced as Dayal to play one of the important roles, before the announcement of veteran Telugu star Nagarjuna as Simon on the next day. ## Shruti Haasan as Preethi was announced to play the female lead on August 30 while Sathyaraj as Rajasekar was announced to play a prominent role the next day. Kannada star Upendra, who has been in the news for the last couple of weeks for his role in the film, was finally confirmed on board as Kaleesha. He is reportedly playing the role of the main villain. ## After all the main supporting cast, the makers introduced superstar Rajinikanth as Deva on September 2nd. In the first look poster, Rajinikanth can be seen holding a number tag that coolies wear with 1421 written on it. 'Indian 2' Makers Lend In Legal Trouble Over The Film's OTT Release

Chennai, August 29 - Legendary Kamal Haasan and director Shankar reunited for the sequel to their 1997 Indian and released it on the big screen in July this year after years of production delays. Indian 2, produced by Lyca Production, however, failed to create any magic at the box office and ended up as a disaster.## After the no-show at the box office, Indian 2 premiered on the digital platform on August 12, 4 weeks after the theatrical release. Shockingly, the Hindi version of the movie also started streaming in less than 6 weeks after its release and this has put the makers in legal trouble. ## According to the report in Pinkvilla, the Multiplex Association of India has sent a legal notice to the team of Indian 2 for flouting the OTT rules. It is known to everyone that films released in Hindi will have to follow a strict 8-week OTT window, and the ones who don't obey the guidelines, won't get a release in the top 3 national multiplex chains – PVRInox and Cinepolis. ## The report suggests that the makers of Indian 2 had agreed to the guidelines to release the Hindi version, Hindustani 2 in multiplexes, which means, the dubbed version was supposed to be available on OTT on September 6 but MAI was shocked to know that it is already available on Netflix, much before the set window.## The Multiplex Association wants to give a stern message to all the producers to follow the 8-week window and in this process, the organization has sent a legal notice to the Indian 2 team. Mumbai, August 8 - Thalapathy Vijay's highly-anticipated sci-fi action thriller The Greatest of All-Time will be released by Zee Studios in North India. The movie is directed by Venkat Prabhu and produced by AGS Entertainment.## Zee Studio, one of the leading production and distribution studios in the country, announced on Thursday that it would release GOAT across North Indian states in all languages, including Hindi, Tamil, and Telugu. Chennai, August 7 - Vijay Sethupathi's action thriller Maharaja has emerged as the third most-watched Indian movie of 2024 on Netflix. The Nithilan Swaminathan's directorial was originally released in theatres and emerged as a big box office blockbuster by grossing over 100 crores worldwide.## Maharaja debuted on Netflix on July 12, four weeks after the blockbuster theatrical release. It scored 3.20 million views in the opening weekend on Netflix, followed by a huge 6.10 million views in the second week (July 15-21), and another 3.60 million views during the week of July 22-28. ## In the fourth week (July 29 - August 4), the movie generated 2.60 million views, pushing its total viewership to 15.50 million views in 24 days.
