Box Office: Shah Rukh Khan's 'Pathaan' Scored Good Opening Weekend In Japan

Tokyo, September 5 - Superstar Shah Rukh Khan's all-time blockbuster "Pathaan" has had a good opening weekend at the Japanese box office. Directed by Siddharth Anand, the movie was released on September 1st in the country and took the biggest opening for an Indian movie in 2023.## The spy action thriller movie scored ¥14.6 million (₹83 lakh) in the opening weekend with 8873 admits. This is the biggest opening for an Indian movie this year in Japan, beating Ram Charan's "Rangasthalam" which grossed ¥10.1 million (₹60 lakh) with approximately 7200 admits.## "Pathaan's" total worldwide collection has now reached 1055 crores, including 397 crores overseas collection (updated). Pathaan is the 5th highest-grossing Indian movie at the worldwide box office while overseas, it is 4th highest-grossing India movie after "Dangal" (1535 crores), "Secret Superstar" (831 crores), and "Bajrangi Bhaijaan" (489 crores).## The movie, produced by Yash Raj Films, is the part of studio's ambitious spy universe. It stars Shah Rukh Khan in the titular role with Deepika Padukone, John Abraham, Dimple Kapadia, and Ashutosh Rana. Kiara Advani In Talks To Play Female Lead Opposite Dhanush In 'Tere Ishk Mein'

Mumbai, September 5 - National award winning actor Dhanush is reuniting with director Anand L Rai for a love story film, titled Tere Ishk Mein. The movie was in June this year with the first look teaser on the occasion of the 10th anniversary of "Raanjhanaa".## Now, according to Tamil industry tracker Amutha Bharathi, the makers are in talks with one of the leading Bollywood actresses, Kiara Advani to play the female lead role. The talks are said to be in the final stage and the actress is more or less confirmed for the role. ## "Tere Ishk Mein" is a love story reportedly set in the backdrop of air force. It will mark Dhanush and Kiara's maiden collaboration if happens. As reported recently, the shoot of the movie is expected to commence in November this year in Utter Pradesh and it will be shot in a straight three-month schedule. ## The movie is helmed by Aanand L Rai and its story, dialogues, and screenplay are penned by Himanshu Sharma and Neeraj Yadav. Himanshu has produced the movie while AR Rahman is on board to score music and Irshad Kamil for lyrics. The remaining cast of the film is yet to be disclosed.## Kiara Advani was recently seen in romantic drama "Satyaprem Ki Katha" opposite Kartik Aaryan. Mumbai, September 4 - The fifth installment of the blockbuster comedy film franchise "Housefull" is set to be the most expensive movie in the franchise yet and one of the costliest ever in Bollywood, according to the investment plans revealed by producer Sajid Nadiadwala to Variety.## During the interview with the Hollywood website, producer Sajid Nadiadwala revealed that he is investing INR10 billion ($121 million) in U.K.-based projects featuring industry A-listers. Akshay Kumar-fronted "Housefull 5", which is gearing up to commence the filming later this year, is budgeted at $48 million (~400 crores) to be produced under the banner of Nadiadwala Grandson Entertainment.## "Housefull 5" will be Akshay and producer Nadiadwala's most expensive movie to-date. Box Office: Gadar 2 Third Thursday Early Estimates

Mumbai, August 31 - Gadar 2 Heads for another massive day at the box office on its third Thursday. The movie witnessed a solid hold with a drop of around 10% from yesterday as early estimates suggest collection in the range of 7.75 crores net. It is not an official holiday for Rakshabandhan but still it's a big festival in India and hence it boosted the collections of the film. There will be a drop tomorrow as the film is coming after two consecutive big days helped by the festival but the job has been done.## The third Thursday collections will take the total collections of Gadar 2 to around 482 cr net box office mark which is the third highest grosser number ever behind Pathaan and Bahubali2. Mumbai, August 30 - The mass rampage of Gadar 2 continues at the box office as the film has witnessed excellent growth of around 75% today, on its third Wednesday. The early estimates suggest around 9 crores net collection today which is excellent number for any film on 20th day. Many films do not even collect this much on their opening day which speaks about the universal appreciation of the Gadar 2.## The third Wednesday collections will take the total collections of the film to around 475cr net box office mark which are extraordinary numbers. There will be another big day tomorrow as some parts of the country will celebrate the Rakshabandhan holiday. The film is expected to collect around 8-10cr tomorrow as well which will take the film to around 483-485cr mark. This Anil Sharma's directorial movie, which is the sequel to all-time blockbuster "Gadar: Ek Prem Katha", has crossed 600 crores at the global box office and still going strong. ## After the historic success of "Gadar 2", it was recently reported that Sunny Deol and director JP Dutta have been discussing the sequel to "Border" which is one of the biggest blockbusters of all-time in Indian cinema. It was reported that "Border" will revolve around Indo-Pak war in 1971 and would go on floors next year.## Now, Sunny Deol share a big update on the sequel and confirmed that the talks are indeed on. During the recent interview with YouTuber Ranveer Allahbadia, the actor said that "Border 2" was being made earlier but was shelved when his films flopped. "We wanted to do this even earlier. I remember in 2015... But then my film didn't work. So people were scared to make it. Now everyone wants to make that!"## Sunny further said that the talks regarding the sequel are going on and he will do it if the story is good. "I will first hear it, and if I feel it has any substance, I will obviously do it. Box Office: Gadar 2 Third Tuesday Early Estimates

Mumbai, August 29 - Gadar 2 sees a growth at the box office on the third Tuesday due to tomorrow being a holiday. The growth is around 10% and can go upto 15% which is a positive sign for the movie in its pursuit to become number one Hindi movie. The holiday period will kick in in some states and hence the film has witnessed this growth as early estimates suggest 5 crores net and can go towards 5.25 crores on its third Tuesday.## The third Tuesday collections will take the total box office collections of Gadar2 to around 466cr net box office mark. The film is sure to reach the mammoth 500cr net mark which is achieved by only two films in the history Bahubali2 and Pathaan. ## The film is expected to reach 490-495cr by the end of the fourth weekend and then it will all boil down to how Jawan performs at the box office. If Jawan is a craze like Pathaan at the box office then it will be a tough task for Gadar2 to beat the numbers of Pathaan to emerge as the highest-grossing film ever in the Hindi format.## Gadar2 would have created a new club of 600cr net grossers had the film released solo but this 500cr net mark in a clash is a bigger benchmark at the box office. Box Office: Gadar 2 Crosses 600 Crores And OMG 2 Hits 200 Crores Worldwide

Mumbai, August 29 - Sunny Deol-fronted period action drama film Gadar 2: The Katha Continues continuing its heroic run and crossed 600 crores mark at the worldwide box office on its 18th day. It has become the second Indian movie of the year to achieve this milestone.## Directed by Anil Sharma, Gadar 2 has so far scored approximately 544 crores gross collection in India (460.65 crores net) while its overseas collection is excellent 61 crores through 3rd Monday (18 days). The worldwide box office collection of the movie has reached 104.60 crores to-date.## Gadar 2 has become the 12th Indian movie and 7th outright Bollywood movie of all-time to top 600 crores worldwide gross. Post the covid-19 pandemic, it the 4th Indian movie and 2nd Bollywood film to reach this box office figure. ## Meanwhile, Akshay Kumar's social comedy drama OMG 2 also having a very good run despite competition and not-so mass friendly film. On its first Monday (18th day), it topped 200 crores gross mark at the global box office and becomes the first movie of Akshay since Sooryavanshi (2021) to achieve this feat.## In India, the Amit Rai's directorial movie has minted 161 crores gross while overseas, it has grossed around 39 crores so far. Mumbai, August 28 - August 2023 has turned out to be a historic month at the Indian box office with all films scoring well over 1000 crores net collection.
