Box Office: Shah Rukh Khan's 'Pathaan' Scored Good Opening Weekend In Japan
Tokyo, September 5 - Superstar Shah Rukh Khan's all-time blockbuster "Pathaan" has had a good opening weekend at the Japanese box office. Directed by Siddharth Anand, the movie was released on September 1st in the country and took the biggest opening for an Indian movie in 2023.## The spy action thriller movie scored ¥14.6 million (₹83 lakh) in the opening weekend with 8873 admits. This is the biggest opening for an Indian movie this year in Japan, beating Ram Charan's "Rangasthalam" which grossed ¥10.1 million (₹60 lakh) with approximately 7200 admits.## "Pathaan's" total worldwide collection has now reached 1055 crores, including 397 crores overseas collection (updated). Pathaan is the 5th highest-grossing Indian movie at the worldwide box office while overseas, it is 4th highest-grossing India movie after "Dangal" (1535 crores), "Secret Superstar" (831 crores), and "Bajrangi Bhaijaan" (489 crores).## The movie, produced by Yash Raj Films, is the part of studio's ambitious spy universe. It stars Shah Rukh Khan in the titular role with Deepika Padukone, John Abraham, Dimple Kapadia, and Ashutosh Rana.
