Akshay Kumar's Comedy Film 'Khel Khel Mein' With Director Mudassar Aziz Is The Remake of A Blockbuster Italian Movie?

Mumbai, July 19 - Bollywood superstar Akshay Kumar would be teaming up with "Pati Patni Aur Woh" director Mudassar Aziz for a comedy-drama film. The movie is reportedly titled "Khel Khel Mein" and has Tapsee Pannu and Vaani Kapoor as the female leads. ## According to Pinkvilla, "Khel Khel Mein" is the official Hindi adaptation of a blockbuster Italian movie "Perfect Strangers" (2016). It was a critically as well as commercially successful movie, grossing over $32 million, and has already been remade in more than 20 countries. ## "Mudassar Aziz has been eager to make an Indian version of it for a long time and has adapted the screenplay in a desi style to suit the sensibilities of Indian audiences", the report says, adding that the shoot will commence in October this year and it will be shot in a two-month straight schedule in the UK. ## The movie was supposed to go on floors early this year but the production got delayed due to Akshay's other commitments. Produced by Ashwin Varde and Bhushan Kumar, the pre-production of the movie is happening at a brisk pace to start shooting on schedule. ## Akshay Kumar, meanwhile, is currently gearing up for the release of his much-awaited "OMG 2" which is scheduled for August 11 release. The actor also has Tinu Suresh Desai's "The Great Indian Rescue", scheduled to release on October 5, and the "Soorarai Pottru" remake on February 16, 2024. ## Apart from the aforementioned films, Khiladi Kumar has Ali Abbas Zafar's highly-awaited "Bade Miyan Chote Miyan" with Tiger Shroff (Eid 2024), the C. Filmmaker Rohit Shetty Opens Up On The Box Office Failure Of Ranveer Singh-Fronted 'Cirkus'

Mumbai, July 15 - Filmmaker Rohit Shetty takes the blame on himself for the box office failure of the comedy caper "Cirkus" starring Ranveer Singh in a double role. Released in December last year, the movie failed miserably to gross just around 60 crores, becoming the lowest-grossing film of Shetty since "All The Best" (2009) at the worldwide box office. ## During a recent interview with India Today, the maverick filmmaker said that every success and failure of his movies belongs to him. "I make sure to surround myself with people who are honest with me. So, when a film doesn't do well, I know it. Hence, I have always believed that both my successes and failures are mine. There is no point shying away from it", he said.## "When a 'Singham' or a 'Golmaal' did well, that was also mine, so when a 'Zameen' (2003), a 'Dilwale' or a 'Cirkus' failed, that was also mine. I don't see a point in blaming anything else", Shetty added.## The "Singham" director further said that "Cirkus" was made during the pandemic for the workers so that they can earn their livelihood. Shetty's next theatrical release is the highly-anticipated third installment of the "Singham" franchise starring Ajay Devgn which is due to start filming next month and be released during Independence Day weekend 2024.## Shetty promises to make a solid comeback with "Singham Again". "The same audience made 'Sooryanshi' a blockbuster despite a 50% occupancy, and if it didn't work for 'Cirkus', I must take ownership of failures as well. Shraddha Kapoor and Rajkummar Rao's 'Stree 2' Shoot Begins With A Twist

Mumbai, July 11 - The much-awaited sequel to producer Dinesh Vijan's blockbuster horror-comedy "Stree" has commenced filming today in Chanderi. Shraddha Kapoor and Rajkummar Rao return to reprise their roles along with Pankaj Tripti, Aparshakti Khurrana, and Abhishek Banerjee from the first movie. ## The makers announced the commencement of the shoot today with a twist in the plot of "Stree 2". While Stree, played by Flora Saini, brought chaos in the life of Chanderi's people, this time Stree will come to save them from the terror of a head-cutter as the villagers call for "O Stree, protect us".## Amar Kaushik returns to direct the sequel, produced by Vijan's Maddock Films. Raj & D.K., who wrote the screenplay of the first film, are not a part of the movie. The film is a part of Maddock Films' horror-comedy universe which kicked off with "Stree" (2018), followed by "Roohi" (2021) and "Bhediya" (2022). Mumbai, July 10 - National-award winning filmmaker Sanjay Puran Singh Chauhan's latest film "72 Hoorain" has had a low opening weekend at the box office as the movie could score approx. 1.25 crores net in three days. ## Starring Pavan Malhotra and Ameer Bashir in lead roles, "72 Hoorain" was hit by controversy even before its release as a section accused the makers of hurting religious sentiments through the movie. CBFC granted the movie 'A' certificate. ## Unlike "The Kerala Story", this kind of controversy failed to hype up "72 Hoorain" as the movie almost went unnoticed at the box office in the opening weekend. Shah Rukh Khan Dons Multiple Looks To Fight Wrongs In Society In The Action-Packed Teaser/Trailer of 'Jawan'

Mumbai, July 10 - The wait finally ends and the Bollywood superstar Shah Rukh Khan is there to fight the wrongs in society in the first look teaser/trailer of the highly-anticipated action thriller film Jawan" directed by Atlee Kumar. ## The 2-minute and 12 seconds promo gives the first look at Shah Rukh Khan's different looks as well as the first look at Nayanthara, Vijay Sethupathi, Sanya Malhotra, Priyamani, and Deepika Padukone (cameo). The makers have officially described the movie as a "high-octane action thriller which outlines the emotional journey of a man who is set to rectify the wrongs in society". ## The promo begins with a voiceover by Shah Rukh Khan, who says, "I don't know who I am or what I am, I do not know". He goes on to say whether he is a promise made to a mother or a purpose.. unfinished. "Am I good or bad, a blessing or a curse, ask these questions yourself. Because I am you, for better or worse".## In between the dialogues, the actor indulges in some high-octane action scenes before we get to see glimpses of the soldier character that SRK plays. The teaser then gives a glimpse of SRK's bandaged look before he takes off his bandages to reveal an all-new bald look to hijack a train and goes on to say "When I become the villain, no hero stands a chance against me". ## SRK accompanies by his girl gang which helps him to fight the wrongs. Nayanthara and Deepika can also be seen involved in the fight scenes. The action-heavy promo, however, doesn't reveal what are the wrongs the actor and his girl gang are fighting. The promo ends with a funny train scene in which SRK is having a funny dance to an old song while the passengers shaking. ## Overall, the teaser lives up to the high expectations as it promises a complete mass entertainer SRK has never done before. Box Office: 'Satyaprem Ki Katha' Scores A Big Jump On Its Second Saturday

Mumbai, July 9 - Kartik Aaryan and Kiara Advani's musical romantic drama film "Satyaprem Ki Katha" is heading for a healthy lifetime collection at the domestic box office. Despite being not a mass-friendly film, it has done well in the first week to enter the second weekend with a bang. ## After dropping just 5% on its second Friday for 2.85 crores net, the Sameer Vidhwans-directed flick scored a big jump of 66.67% on its second Saturday to collect 4.75 crores net. This takes the total net collection to 60.81 crores in 10 days. It is expected to score a further jump today and is likely to bring in 5.50 crores for the second-weekend collection of around 13 crores. ## SPK also has done decently at the overseas box office to score approx. 13 crores net (estimated). The worldwide collection of the movie currently stands at around 85 crores gross and it will soon enter the 100-crore gross club globally. ## The Sajid Nadiadwala production has been able to attract its target multiplex audiences, especially the youth which is loving this romantic saga. Mumbai, July 8 - Director Rajkumar Hirani's maiden film with superstar Shah Rukh Khan, "Dunki" is one of the hugely anticipated films in the making. It is a social comedy-drama film based on the rampant use of an illegal backdoor route called 'Donkey Flight' to immigrate to countries like Canada and the USA. ## "Dunki" is scheduled to release during the Christmas weekend this year and it is expected to be one of the biggest hits of Indian cinema. Mumbai, July 8 - Bollywood superstar Salman Khan has been in talks with his director friend Sooraj Barjatya for their next films together. The filmmaker has been working on the script for a long time and it was recently reported that it might take a few more months to complete the entire script work. ## During this period, the superstar was also interested in a film offered by producer Karan Johar, but now, according to a report in Mid-Day, the "Dabangg" star has made up his mind and picked Barjatya's film that is reportedly titled "Prem Ki Shaadi". ## It is said that Salman loved the script when it was first narrated to him in 2020 but due to the pandemic, the development of the film got delayed.
