Mumbai, October 20 - The trailer of Varun Dhawan and Kriti Sanon's monster comedy Bhediya has set the internet on fire as the audience is going gaga over the larger-than-life VFX shots and cinematography of the film. ## Now, Maddock Films has announced that the "Bhediya" trailer has clocked over 60 million views across social media platforms in the first 24 hours. The Hindi trailer of the film alone got 20+ million views on YouTube. It is a huge response for a mid-budget film which has surely raised anticipation.## Directed by Amar Kaushik, "Bhediya" is the third installment in producer Dinesh Vijan's horror comedy universe. It is more like a monster horror comedy in which Varun Dhawan turns a wolf while Kriti plays the role of Dr. Anika. Ayan Mukerji's 'Brahmastra' Leads PVR's Earnings In Q2 of FY23

Mumbai, October 19 - PVR Ltd, the film exhibition company in India, has reported a net loss of Rs 71.49 crore in the second quarter of the financial year 2023. During the same quarter last year, the company reported a loss of Rs 153.27. ## PVR said in a regulatory filing that approx. 18 million (1.8 crores) patrons visited its cinemas during the quarter as the revenue from operations in the 2nd quarter stood at Rs 686.72 crore as compared to Rs 120.32 crore in the corresponding period of the previous year. ## The company said in the statement that the underperformance of most Bollywood movies was the major reason behind the losses. Director Ayan Mukerji's Brahmastra Part 1 - Shiva, however, led PVR's earnings during this period with Rs. 75.6 crores, followed by Marvel Studios' Thor: Love and Thunder with Rs. 42.10 crores. ## The highest-grossing South Indian movie at PVR property during the Q2FY23 was Dulquer Salmaan and Mrunal Thakur's Sita Ramam Rs. 16.7 crores, followed by Karthikeya 2 with Rs. 14.7 crores. ## PVR reported that there was an 11 percent growth in the average ticket price at Rs 224, while spending on food and beverages grew by 31 percent per patron at Rs 129 compared to the pre-pandemic period of the second quarter FY20.## Top 5 movies at PVR during Q2FY23 - ## 1. Box Office: 'Kantara', 'Ponniyin Selvan-1', 'Doctor G' Jump Big On Saturday

Mumbai, October 15 - It was a blockbuster day at the domestic box office as Kannada's sensational blockbuster Kantara witnessed a massive jump, scoring the biggest day of its box office run so far. ## The Telugu and Tamil versions of the movie got released today, and as per the early estimates, the two languages grossed approx. 2.70 crores. However, it was the original Kannada version that sees a near 100% jump from yesterday, for an estimated 9.50 crores gross, followed by an estimated 3 crores gross in the Hindi version today, which was its second day. The dubbed Hindi version also scores a near 100% jump from the opening day. ## The 3rd Saturday (1st Saturday for Hindi, Telugu, and Tamil) gross collection of "Kantara" is approx. 15 crores, which pushes its total domestic gross collection to over 100 crores to approx. 107 crores in 16 days. The worldwide collection of the movie is around 115 crores. ## Meanwhile, Mani Ratnam's mega-blockbuster Ponniyin Selvan - Part 1 continues to score big as it grossed an estimated 7-7.50 crores gross (+80% vs 3rd Friday) on its 3rd Saturday for all languages. ## The total domestic gross collection of "PS-1" is now around 280 crores while the worldwide total is approx. 425 crores. In the home state, Tamil Nadu, the movie is expected to breach the 200 crores mark by the end of the 3rd week. Mumbai, October 15 - Salman Khan's most-hyped movie Tiger 3 has a new release date. The spy action thriller, which was supposed to release on Eid 2023, will now be hitting the big screens on Diwali 2023 in Hindi, Telugu, and Tamil languages. ## Directed by Maneesh Sharma, "Tiger 3" features Salman Khan and Katrina Kaif reprising their roles from the first two films. Emraan Hashmi is also reportedly a key role in the film, however, Yash Raj Films hasn't made his casting official yet. ## The shoot of "Tiger 3" is almost completed except for a few portions. Shah Rukh Khan plays a cameo role as Pathaan in the movie. Box Office: Doctor G Opening Day Early Estimates

Mumbai, October 14 - Ayushmann Khurrana's latest box office outing Doctor G has been released in theaters today. The film came from very less hype and even the makers did not promote it like other Ayushmaan Khurrana starrers. The trailer of the film received a lukewarm response from the audience while the music was even downer.## The film took a so-so opening at the box office but considering this film stars Ayushmaan Khurrana, the opening is decent during these times. The reason for the slack in the opening was the genre of the film as these types of urban comedies are not the best bets for the box office point of view after the pandemic as they look more like an OTT film rather than a big screen spectacle.## The early estimates for the opening day suggest 3.50 crores net. The opening of the film is in a similar range as of the last Ayushmaan Khurrana starrer Chandigarh Kare Aashiqui. Except for the few urban metro cities, all other centers recorded a washout opening. ## The film has to grow by leaps and bounds on Saturday and Sunday to put a respectable first-weekend collection. Mumbai, October 14 - Ayushmann Khurrana's campus comedy-drama film Doctor G has been released in theaters today along with Parineeti Chopra and Harrdy Sandhu's spy action thriller Code Name: Tiranga and a few other films. ## Going by the initial reaction from the movie-goers and critics, it seems "Doctor G" will be the first choice of the audience over the weekend along with the Kannada movie Kantara, of which the Hindi version has been released today after creating waves in Kannada. ## Directed by Anubhuti Kashyap in her directorial debut, "Doctor G" is being called hilarious while dealing with a complicated subject where Ayushmann plays a gynecologist. Social comedy-drama has always been Ayushmann's strong zone and it looks like he is back in that after a couple of missed opportunities. ## Apart from Ayushmann, the performances of Rakul Preet Sigh, Shefali Shah, and Sheeba Chaddha are getting big recognition. The direction of the movie is also being praised. The only debatable point of the movie, as per the critics' talks, is the second half where the plot of the movie gets off-track, but overall, the film is getting a very good reception. ## "Code Name: Tiranga", directed by Ribhu Dasgupta, is a spy action thriller but the initial response is average to the movie. The movie had created a decent buzz through teaser/trailer, but the critics are calling it a failed attampt in this genre. The performence Parineeti Chopra along with other actors is praiseworthy but the direction by Ribhu Dasgupta is being criticised. Akshay Kumar's Action Adventure 'Ram Setu' Trailer Clocks Over 25 Million Views In The First 24-Hours

Mumbai, October 12 - Akshay Kumar-fronted action adventure Ram Setu is one of the most-awaited films and the trailer of the same was launched on October 11. The film, directed by Abhishek Sharma, is set in 2007 and it follows an archeologist who is investigating the nature of Ram Setu, known in English as Adam's Bridge.## The trailer has received a good response from the audience on YouTube. It was launched in Hindi along with Tamil and Telugu and clocked over 25 million views in the first 24 hours. The Hindi trailer scored 22.8 million views while Telugu and Tamil trailers, which were launched a few hours later, clocked 1.4 million and 1.1 million, respectively. ## The response to the "Ram Setu" trailer is good but as compared to Akshay Kumar's recent films, the response is mixed.
