Lionsgate Sets Release Date For Heist Film 'Now You See Me 3'

Mumbai, July 3 - Lionsgate studio has set the official release for the third instalment of its magic-themed heist film franchise Now You See Me, directed by Ruben Fleischer. ## Starring Jesse Eisenberg, the threequel will be released on November 14, 2025. The development of Now You See Me 3 was first confirmed in April 2020 when Lionsgate brought on screenwriter Warren Singer to pen the script to add a fresh take to the story. ## The plot details of the movie have been kept under wraps but the movie reintroduces audiences to the thieving illusionists known as the Four Horseman with Eisenberg, Woody Harrelson, Isla Fisher, Dave Franco and Morgan Freeman returning to reprise their roles, with Justice Smith, Dominic Sessa, Ariana Greenblatt, and Rosamund Pike among those aboard for new roles. ## The first movie of the franchise was released in 2013 and went on to gross over $350 million at the worldwide box office against a budget of $75 million. Prabhas 'Salaar 2' Shoot To Begin On August 10

Hyderabad, July 3 - Pan India superstar Prabhas, currently basking on the mega box office success of Kalki 2898 AD, is set to start the sequel of last year's success Salaar, directed by Prashanth Neel amid the rumours of it getting shelved. ## Salaar Part 1 was one of the highest-grossing Indian films of 2023 and the makers planned to commence the shoot of Salar Part 2 sooner than later to complete the story. The movie was supposed to go on floors by June this year but now, it will roll out in August. ## According to the report by Pinkvilla, the 20% shoot of Salaar 2 is already completed and the makers will resume it on August 10 with a 15-day schedule at Ramoji Film City, Hyderabad. It is said that plans to resume the filming in June were delayed due to weather and date issues. ## Prashanth Neel, meanwhile also has Jr. NTR's Dragon and the report says that the filmmaker will juggle between the shoots of the two movies. Salaar 2 will be shot for over 8 months with Dragon in 2024 and 2025, starting from August this year. The makers are planning to release the sequel by the end of 2025. ## Salaar Part 1 was released in December last year and went to gross around 618 crores at the worldwide box office. 'Kalki 2898 AD' Tops 2 Crore Footfalls; First Indian Movie of 2024 To Do So

Hyderabad, July 3 - Amid the box office carnage, sci-fi epic Kalki 2898 AD has crossed 20 million (2 crores) footfalls in India in all languages, becoming the first Indian movie of the year to do so, beating fellow industry title, Hanuman. ## Directed by Nag Ashwin, Kalki 2898 AD has scored an estimated 2.02 crores of footfalls in just 6 days in all versions. The Telugu version is leading approximately 1 crore admissions, followed by Hindi with 75 lakh. The rest of the versions have sold approximately 28 lakh tickets so far. ## In 2024, only four Indian films have sold more than 1 crore tickets in theatres and Kalki 2898 AD is the only one to make it double. The other movies to score 1+ crore footfalls are Hanuman (1.44 crore), Fighter (1.17 crore), and Manjummal Boys (1.16 crore).## The Prabhas-fronted blockbuster has been ruling the box office since day 1. Touted to be a 2-hero project with Kamal Haasan as the parallel lead, will mark the first movie together for the trio if materializes. ## While the aforementioned collaboration is making fans go crazy, another one between the duo of Salman Khan and Atlee is shaping up and is reportedly confirmed. According to the report by Peepingmoon.com, the Sultan actor is teaming up with Atlee to play a cameo role in Varun Dhawan-starrer Baby John which is produced by the Jawan director as his maiden Bollywood production venture. ## The details about Salman Khan's cameo have been kept under wraps but it's said to be a mass action sequence that is specifically written and designed for him. Interestingly, Salman had also made a special appearance in Dhawan's Judwaa 2 which is the remake of Salman's Judwaa. The actor will shoot for his cameo later this month or early August.## Baby John is a first-of-its-kind action thriller for Varun Dhawan. Hyderabad, July 2 - As the world is waiting for SS Rajamouli's next which is with Telugu superstar Mahesh Babu, the maverick filmmaker has reportedly finalized the antagonist to take on Pokiri star in this highly-anticipated Pan India movie, tentatively titled SSMB 29. ## According to the report by Pinkvilla, SS Rajamouli has been in talks with Malayalam star Prithviraj Sukumaran to come on board as the main villain and the actor has finally agreed to do the same. June 2024 Indian Box Office Report

Mumbai, July 2 - June was the second biggest month of the year at the Indian box office with close to 1000 crores gross collection after January which is the only month to cross this milestone so far. ## In June 2024, films across languages grossed approximately 985 crores at the domestic box office, as Pan India superstar Prabhas-fronted Kalki 2898 AD being the biggest grosser with approximately 370 crores gross, followed by Bollywood movie, Munjya with approximately 111 crores gross. ## In terms of language, Hindi once again topped the month and also saw the biggest of the year so far by topping March month's collection of 386 crores with approximately 390 crores gross which includes Kalki (130+ crores) and Munjay (111 crores) as the two biggest grossers. The Telugu version is also back in the top 2 with approximately 275 crores gross, thanks to Kalki with 200 crores gross. ## Meanwhile, the Malayalam language collection slipped to 4th spot after being the second biggest for four consecutive months. The Tamil industry also witnessed a rebound and has had the biggest month of the year with approximately 137 crores gross, thanks to Maharaja (60 crores) and Garudan (45 crores). ## The total domestic collection after the first 6 months is approximately 4700 crores gross. The second half of the year, however, is expected to see a big jump in the collection with multiple much-awaited movies lined up for release, including Pushpa 2, Singham Again, Indian 2, Devara, Game Changer, Kanguva, Stree 2, GOAT, along with Hollywood movies like Deadpool 3, Mufasa: The Lion King, and Joker 2, among many local and international films. ## Stay tuned...

Mumbai, July 2 - Dharma Productions and Sikhya Entertainment's A-rated action thriller Kill, which is scheduled to be released theatrically on July 5, is set to be remade in Hollywood by the John Wick director Chad Stahelski who will produce the movie for Lionsgate. ## Kill has been rated 'A' by CBFC for extreme violence and it is billed as the Indian version of the John Wick franchise. Directed by Nikhil Nagesh Bhat, the movie stars Lakshya, Raghav Juyal, Ashish Vidyarthi, Harsh Chhaya, and Tanya Maniktala in key roles. ## "Kill is one of the most vivid, wild, and creative action movies I've seen recently. Nikhil delivers relentless action sequences that need to be seen by as wide an audience as possible. Mumbai, July 2 - 12 years after the superhit action comedy, Son of Sardaar, Bollywood star Ajay Devgn and team reunite for its sequel with Devgn returning to play the lead role. The movie will reportedly be directed by Punjabi filmmaker Vijay Kumar Arora. ## When the sequel was confirmed, there were rumours that Sanjay Dutt and Sonakshi Sinha, who played prominent roles in the original movie, would not be returning. Now, according to the latest reports, the makers have brought on board SOS2 with Mrunal Thakur to replace Sonakshi. ## According to the Mid-Day, it is not yet clear whether Ajay Devgn and Sanjay Dutt will reprise their roles as Jassi and Balwinder Singh Sandhu aka Billu as the story of SOS2 is said to be fresh and doesn't pick up where the original ended.## "That said, since the characters of Billu and Jassi were loved by the audiences, the two actors are expected to stick to their characters' names. Their dynamics, however, will be different. While the two were at loggerheads with hilarious results in Son of Sardaar, this time, their rivalry will be intense, with Sanjay's role leaning towards the antagonist", says the report. ## The report further said that the trio of Ajay Devgn, Sanjay Dutt, and Mrunal Thakur who will play the female lead, will commence a 50-day schedule in Scotland this month.
