Robert Oppenheimer, the theoretical physicists remembered as one of the fathers of the atom bomb, the movie stars Cillian Murphy of Peaky Blinders as the title hero. ## If you wondering Cillian Murphy is the only star, playing a prominent role in Nolan's film, then you are definitely missing all the interesting things and casting happening around the film. Matt Damon roped in to play General Leslie Groves Jr., the director of the Manhattan Project, and Iron Man, Robert Downey Jr. is taking on the role of U.S. Atomic Energy Commission chairman Lewis Strauss.## Continuing the list, "Black Widow" star Florence Pugh cast as Jean Tatlock, a psychiatrist and member of the Communist party who had a romantic relationship with Oppenheimer. The rest of the cast includes Benny Safdie, Josh Hartnett, Michael Angarano, Rami Malek, Dylan Arnold, Dane DeHaan, Matthew Modine, David Krumholtz, and Alden Ehrenreich in other prominent roles. ## Some of the stars who will be appearing in "Oppenheimer", have already worked with Nolan in his previous movies. The Sony Picture's video game adaptation, based on the popular PlayStation game series from publisher Naughty Dog, "Uncharted" topped the 3-day domestic weekend with $44.2 million. ## Tom Holland has proved his star power and also answered many questions that he can also deliver at the box office outside "Spider-Man" movies. The 4-day President Weekend for "Uncharted" is projected to reach $51 million domestically (North America), which are significant box office numbers, considering the fact that the movie has been sidelined by critics with just a 39% score on Rotten Tomatoes. ## Internationally, the Ruben Fleischer-directed film is even more strong after debuting in the 47 new markets with $55.4 million. Earlier, the movie opened in the 15 international markets and had grossed $22.6 million, pushing its overseas haul to $88 million. The global total for "Uncharted" currently stands at $132.2 million through Sunday. ## Among the new international markets, France led all launches for Uncharted with $6.3 million followed by Australia with $4 million. Germany lands at number 3 with $3.4 million, followed by Italy with $3.1 million and Korea at $3 million. In India, "Uncharted" has grossed approx. 880K in the first 3-days at the box office.## The United Kingdom is leading the overseas chart with $16.4 million. In more happy news for Sony Pictures, "Uncharted" dated March 14 in China, which is the biggest movie market in the world. ## Meanwhile, Tom Holland's "Spider-Man: No Way Home" is showing no sign of slowing down as it grossed $7.2 million in its 10th domestic weekend, landing at number 3 this weekend, pushing total domestic cume at $770 million. Los Angeles, February 19 - Tom Holland is proving his worth at the box office as his latest film, "Uncharted", also featuring Mark Wahlberg, has surpassed expectation and opened to a strong $15.4 million on Friday at the domestic (North America) box office. ## The Sony Pictures' video game adaptation, based on the popular PlayStation game series from publisher Naughty Dog, "Uncharted" is projected to gross $40-$44 million in the 3-day weekend. "Uncharted" is doing far more business than expected thanks to younger males who are frequently visiting theaters, reports The Hollywood Reporter. ## Directed by Ruben Fleischer, the movie did not receive well by the critics, giving just 39% on Rotten Tomatoes. However, it is being loved by the audiences, who gave it a B+ CinemaScore and 88% score on Tomatometer. The strong box office performance of "Uncharted" also gives an indication of how critics' reviews have become overrated, as suggested by director Ruben Fleischer, who called critics' reviews surprising for being so negative. ## The $120 million budgeted film was conceived as an origin story for the game series' globe-trotting adventurer Nathan Drake, played by Holland. Nathan begins the story as a bartender before he is recruited by seasoned treasure hunter Victor "Sully" Sullivan (Mark Wahlberg) to recover a fortune amassed by Ferdinand Magellan and lost 500 years ago. ## What starts as a heist job for the duo becomes a globe-trotting, white-knuckle race to reach the prize before the ruthless Santiago Moncada (Antonio Banderas), who believes he and his family are the rightful heirs.## Meanwhile, Holland's "Spider-Man: No Way Home", which opened in December 2021, is still putting strong legs at the domestic box office. The studio's Weibo account shared the news today with a video message from Holland and Wahlberg and a subtitled trailer, as well as a new poster, according to Deadline. ## Based on Sony's video game series of the same name developed by Naughty Dog, "Uncharted" won't be a day-and-date release with domestic, but it is surely a great sign as Sony Pictures' "Spider-Man: No Way Home" is facing trouble to get released in China, owing to what amounted to an unofficial ban on Marvel throughout the past year. ## Apart from "Uncharted", the other Hollywood title that gets a release date in China is Warner Bros./DC's "The Batman", starring Robert Pattinson. The superhero film will be released four days after "Uncharted" on March 18. It also becomes the first superhero flick since "Wonder Woman 1984" to get a release in China. ## Hollywood movies are having a tough time in getting a release date in China, but things are looking positive with "Uncharted", and "The Batman". Directed by Joe and Anthony Russo, "Endgame" marked the finale of Marvel Cinematic Universe's (MCU) first chapter with the defeat of Thanos. ## The first Avengers movie was released in 2012 as "The Avengers", four years after MCU kicked off with Robert Downey Jr.'s "Iron Man" in 2008. The success of "The Avengers" tempted Marvel Studios to build its own universe which grew over the course of three Phases and the Infinity Saga finally came to an end with "Avengers: Endgame". ## It would take a number of individual Marvel movies before the next Avengers flick, however, Kevin Feige has put an end to the talks of "Avengers 5". During his commentary on Marvel Studios Assembled: The Making of Eternals (via Comic Book), the MCU boss suggested that they've completed the Infinity Saga with "the final Avengers movie".## "Marvel Studios and the Marvel Cinematic Universe is now past their tenth anniversary and with the release of the final Avengers movie, we've finally completed a 22-movie Infinity Saga", Feige said. ## In the grand scheme of things, however, it's difficult to believe that Marvel Studios will no longer produce Avengers movies since the studio is introducing a new cop of superheroes in its Phase 4, which has begun with "Black Widow". Los Angeles, February 16 - Paramount Pictures is putting giant steps in the world of entertainment by announcing the number of blockbuster titles, which will be debuting in theaters and on streamers in the next few years.## During its annual investor day presentation on Tuesday (U.S. Pacific Standard Time), Paramount Pictures has confirmed a new trilogy in Transformers franchise, starting with "Transformers: Rise of the Beasts" in 2023. It will be set in the year 1994 and will narrate the backstory of Optimus Prime.## The studio has also confirmed the third installment of the post-apocalyptic horror film "A Quiet Place", set to debut in 2025 in theaters. This Emily Blunt-fronted will act as a direct sequel to 2021's pandemic-era box office hit "A Quiet Place Part II". According to Variety, the film will take off exactly from where the second part ended.## Apart from the "Transformers" trilogy and "A Quiet Place Part III", Paramount Pictures has also green-lit the 3rd installment of the adventure-comedy film "Sonic the Hedgehog", ahead of the release of "Sonic the Hedgehog 2" on April 8. Producers Paramount and Sega have set a television series about Knuckles, a character in Sonic's orbit who is voiced by Idris Elba.## Haruki Satomi, CEO of Sega Corporation, said in a statement, "We are delighted to announce that the third Sonic theatrical film and the first live-action Sonic series for Paramount Plus are being actively developed. We've got a remarkable partnership with Paramount, and we are excited to continue expanding the Sonic the Hedgehog franchise with them".## Among the other films green-lit by the Studio in its long-range announcement, a "Paw Patrol" movie sequel, The Mighty Movie, is set for theatrical release in 2023, apart from a new Blue's Clues movie, Blue's Big City Adventure is coming this year, and a full-length Baby Shark movie is coming in 2023. ## In a major development, Paramount Pictures announced all its theatrical titles will exclusively be premiering on Paramount+ starting from 2024 after they complete their theatrical run. Mumbai, February 16 - Paramount Pictures has announced a new trilogy in the Transformers franchise, starting with "Transformers: Rise of the Beasts". The studio, during a virtual press event in June last year, had confirmed the 7th installment in this highly popular franchise, and now, the company has confirmed that "Rise of the Beasts" will start a new trilogy. ## The studio originally launched the Transformers movie franchise in 2007 with Micahel Bay directing and Shia LaBeouf starring. After five main films in the series, Paramount delivered a reboot film, "Bumblebee" in 2018. The new trilogy of the main series is kicking off in 2023 with "Rise of the Beasts", which takes place between Bumblebee and the Michael Bay movies. ## As announced by Paramount last year, the forthcoming Transformers movie will be different from its previous films in many ways. It will include robots who transform themselves into animal forms like gorillas, falcons, and rhinoceros. "Transformers: Rise of the Beasts" will be set in the year 1994 and will narrate the backstory of Optimus Prime. ## On Wednesday (Feb. 16), Paramount revealed its further plans during its Investor Day presentation regarding shows and movies. The studio also confirmed all its movies, starting from 2024, will exclusively be streaming on Paramount+ after their theatrical run.
