Much-Awaited 'Border 2' Shoot Begins; Release Date Re-Confirmed

Mumbai, January 16 - One of the biggest films in the making, Border 2 has commenced filming on January 16 in the scenic cantonment areas of Jhansi. The film is directed by Punjabi director Anurag Singh and is produced by Bhushan Kumar and Nidhi Dutta, and co-producer Shiv Chanana. ## Bollywood star Varun Dhawan, who headlines this mega project with OG Sunny Deol, Diljit Dosanjh, and Ahan Shetty, joins the first schedule which is set in the highly secluded armed forces cantonment areas of Jhansi. The film aims to capture the raw emotions and heroism that have defined the franchise. ## Border 2 will be shot in the real location in and around the special armed forces to give a rustic feel to the film. On Thursday, makers took to social media to announce the shoot commencement and also re-confirmed the release date which is January 23, 2026.## It is the sequel to the epic blockbuster Border (1997), a war film based on the events of the Battle of Longewala (1971). Mumbai, January 15 - IMDb has unveiled the list of the top 20 most anticipated Indian movies of 2025, and the blockbuster list is topped by superstar Salman Khan's action drama Sikandar. The list includes 11 Bollywood titles, 3 Tamil and Telugu titles each, 2 Kannada movies and 1 Malayalam movie. ## Sikandar, directed by AR Murugadoss and produced by Sajid Nadiadwala, is scheduled to hit the big screens on Eid. Expressing his gratitude for Sikandar being the most anticipated movie, director Murugadoss said, "Working with Salman Khan has been incredible! Mumbai, January 13 - Bollywood star Ranbir Kapoor is gearing up for a busy next few years during which he will be seen headlining some of the biggest films in the making. The actor is currently shooting for Sanjay Leela Bhansali's Love & War along with Nitesh Tiwari's epic Ramayana, both scheduled to hit the big screens in 2026. ## Recently, it was reported that Ranbir has been locked in to lead Yash Raj Films' long-awaited Dhoom 4, which was officially announced more than a decade ago but the production never took off due to some reasons. But now, things are moving fast and production is set to begin next year. ## According to the India Today report, Dhoom 4 will start filming in April 2026. The makers are currently looking to cast 2 female leads and an antagonist. Key contenders to play the antagonist in the film are being considered from the South. ## Ranbir will wrap up both Love & War and Ramayana (both parts) before starting Dhoom 4 as it will need him to have a different look from his other movies. Interestingly, in the previous films of the franchise, the main lead of the film had the shades of an anti-hero, and going by the latest report, it looks like Ranbir's character will be entirely different. Mumbai, January 10 - Bollywood stars Ranbir Kapoor and Deepika Padukone's 2013 blockbuster romantic-comedy Yeh Jawaani Hai Deewani has had a superb first-week collection at the domestic box office upon its re-release on January 3rd.## Directed by Ayan Mukerji, YJHD opened with approximately 1.15 crores net collection and followed it with a good jump on Saturday and Sunday to score around 2.25 crores and 3 crores net collection, respectively for 6.40 crores net opening weekend.## The movie remained rock solid during the weekdays and minted approximately 6 crores net from Monday to Thursday for around 12.50 crores net, which is the second biggest first week for a Bollywood re-release after Tumbbad which scored 13.15 crores net last year. ## The superb first-week re-release collection of YJHD has helped it to enter the 200 crores club. In its original run, the film earned 188.60 crores net. With this, it has become the 43rd Hindi film to cross double century. It is the 4th film of Ranbir Kapoor and 5th for Deepika Padukone to achieve the feat. ## YJHD is showing a very good trend and is sure to do well during the Sankranthi weekend. The actor is working on some of the most-anticipated Bollywood films and one of them is the third instalment of the iconic comedy entertainer franchise Welcome. ## Directed by Farhad Samji, Welcome To The Jungle has been in production since last year and as per the latest update, 75% of the total shoot has been completed and the remaining portions are expected to be wrapped by June this year. According to the report by Pinkvilla, Welcome 3 is heading for a Christmas 2025 release. ## The report states that the team has locked a nearly 2-hour edit of the entire footage shot to date and the stakeholders are extremely happy with everything that they have seen on the edit table so far. The film involves heavy VFX and the same is happening at a brisk pace for the already shot portions. ## The Christmas 2025 release of Welcome 3 will put it in an intense clash at the box office as Yash Raj Films' spy action thriller Alpha, starring Alia Bhatt and Sharvari Wagh is already slated for a December 25 release. The film is directed by Sandeep Kewlani, and Abhishek Anil Kapur, and produced by Maddock Films and Jio Studios. ## The much-anticipated action-packed trailer of Sky Force was launched on January 5 during an event in Mumbai and as expected, it generated huge curiosity among the fans and general audience. According to the official data revealed by the makers, the trailer scored 180 million views across social media platforms in the first 24 hours, making it one of the most-watched Indian film trailers. ## On YouTube, the trailer was launched on Maddock Films and Jio Studios' channels on which it generated 57.65 million views combined in the first full day. Mumbai, January 6 - Ranbir Kapoor and Deepika Padukone's romantic comedy Yeh Jawaani Hai Deewani is all set to enter the 200 crores net club after a very good New Year opening weekend upon its re-release at the box office. ## The Ayan Mukerji's directorial re-opened in cinemas on January 3rd and scored approximately 1.20 crores net collection on its first day. It showed a 100% jump on Saturday to collect approximately 2.25 crores net and there was another solid jump of 35% on Sunday for around 3 crores net.## The blockbuster film scored approximately 6.40 crores in its latest re-release run and including last year's limited re-release collection of around 75 lakh, YJHD's total domestic cume reached 195.75 crores net. It earned 188.60 crores in its original run back in 2013.## Last year, a couple of films witnessed a good response in their re-release run and YJHD followed to same. It opened on over 750 shows which increased to around 2200 shows on Sunday. The trend indicates the movie to have a good hold on Monday and is expected to remain for a couple of weeks to come. ## YJHD was declared a blockbuster in its original run and its re-release will make sure it attain what was left in the first place, that is 200 crores net collection. Mumbai, January 4 - After a very good opening of around 1.20 crores net collection, Bollywood star Ranbir Kapoor and Deepika Padukone's 2013 romantic-comedy Yeh Jawaani Hai Deewani scores an almost 100% jump on its second day of re-release. ## The Ayan Mukerji's directorial blockbuster had over 750 shows on the first day and with demand rising, the shows doubled on its second day at around 1600 shows. The movie minted an approximately 2.25 crores net collection on Saturday, pushing 2 two-day re-release total of the film to around 3.45 crores. ## The film has good pre-sales for Sunday which should mean another good day at the box office. It is looking for a 6+ crores net opening weekend which will take its total collection (including the original run) to around 195 crores and then break into a 200 crore club by next weekend or before. ## There are a couple of new films releasing next weekend, however, the lack of buzz for them might help YJHD to have an extended re-release run till Republic Day.
