Rishab Shetty To Headline 'Chhatrapati Shivaji Maharaj'; Release Date Locked

Mumbai, December 3 - Kannada star Rishab Shetty is on a roll with the back-to-back mega-budgeted Pan India films. After the huge success of Kantara, the actor started working on its prequel, Kantara: Chapter 1 and recently was confirmed to headline director Prasanth Varma's highly-awaited Jai Hanuman. ## Now, the national award-winning actor has been locked to play the great warrior Chhatrapati Shivaji Maharaj in the epic historical action drama film titled The Pride of Bharat: Chhatrapati Shivaji Maharaj, to be directed by producer turned director Sandeep Singh. ## The film was announced on Tuesday, December 3 with the first look poster featuring Shetty as the Maratha King. The makers have also locked the worldwide release date as 21 January 2027 in multiple languages. Mumbai, December 1 - After a dull couple of months post-Stree 2's mega success in August, the festival of Diwali brought good luck for the Bollywood film industry in November, thanks to the two of the most-waited films - Bhool Bhulaiyaa 3 and Singham Again. ## Rohit Shetty's directorial cop action drama Singham 3, starring Ajay Devgn, was the bigger film. However, it was Kartik Aaryan's horror comedy that rocked the show and won the clash with a superb collection in India and worldwide. SA though wasn't too far and did reasonably well at the box office.## Even after 4 weeks of release, both films doing well on a day-wise basis at the domestic box office, and thanks to that, their combined net collection has topped 500 crores making it the biggest Diwali ever at the Indian box office. ## Bhool Bhulaiyaa 3 has emerged as a super hit and through the 5th Saturday (30th day), it has minted approximately 255+ crores net collection. On the other hand, Singham Again is an average-to-hit venture with around 245 crores net collection in the same number of days. ## As reported earlier, BB3 is the biggest grosser for Kartik Aaryan as well as for director Anees Bazmee and the rest of the main cast. Vicky Kaushal's 'Chhaava' and Shahid Kapoor's 'Deva' Get New Release Dates

Mumbai, November 27 - Vicky Kaushal's historical action drama Chhaava has been postponed to February 2025. The film, directed by Laxman Utekar, was supposed to hit the big screen on December 6 and was to clash with Allu Arjun's Pushpa 2 - The Rule before Maddock Films decided to shift the release. ## Produced by Dinesh Vijan of Maddock Films, Chhaava will now be released on February 14. The release date holds special significance since it coincides with Chhatrapati Shivaji Maharaj Jayanti on 19 February. The movie is an adaptation of the Marathi novel Chhava by Shivaji Sawant and is based on the life of Maratha king Chhatrapati Sambhaji Maharaj, played by Vicky Kaushal.## Chhaava also stars Rashmika Mandanna as Maharani Yesubai Bhonsale and Akshaye Khanna as Aurangzeb along with others in key roles.## Meanwhile, the postponement of Chhaava to February 14, 2025, means Shahid Kapoor and Pooja Hegde's action thriller Deva has been moved up by a couple of weeks. Directed by Rosshan Andrrews, the movie will now be released on January 31 after getting preponed from February 14. ## Deva, produced by Roy Kapur Films and Zee Studios, will be Shahid Kapoor's next theatrical release after this year's romantic comedy Teri Baaton Mein Aisa Uljha Jiya which was a box office hit. Box Office: 'Kal Ho Naa Ho' Re-Release Second Weekend Collection

Mumbai, November 25 - Shah Rukh Khan, Saif Ali Khan, and Preity Zinta-starrer two-decade-old romantic comedy Kal Ho Naa Ho continued to impress in its re-release run at the box office amid the few other choices available. ## Directed by Nikhil Advani, the movie was re-released on November 15 and scored approximately 2.40 crores gross collection in the first week. It remained the number 1 choice in the second weekend among the re-release titles and grossed solid around 1.30 crores. ## After 10 days, the total re-release collection of KHNH is around 3.70 crores gross (3.15 crores net), making it already one of the biggest Bollywood re-release grossers of the year. It comfortably beat Karan Arjun and Pushpa - The Rise which got re-released this past weekend and minuted around 1 crore and 70 lakh gross, respectively in the opening weekend. ## With new releases slowing down, KHNH should run steadily until December 5, when the highly anticipated Pushpa 2—The Rule will be released. Mumbai, November 23 - Bollywood superstar Shah Rukh Khan's two cult classics, romantic comedy Kal Ho Naa Ho and reincarnation action drama Karan Arjun which also has superstar Salman Khan, got re-released recently but there seems to be not much interest for the letter. ## Karan Arjun (1995), directed by Rakesh Roshan, got one of the widest re-releases for a Bollywood movie, however, the anticipation seems isn't that much the makers hoped for as it is not getting much audience in theatres. ## The film grossed approximately 30 lakh on its opening day which is, even though among the top openings for a Bollywood re-release, is nowhere near the expected start considering the wide release. It is not showing much improvement on Saturday with collection expected to be in the same range as Friday. ## Meanwhile, Kal Ho Naa Ho (2003), which was re-launched on November 15, looks like will be winning the re-release race against Karan Arjun despite a much smaller release. After grossing approximately 2.40 crores in the first week, the film started the second weekend with around 20 lakh gross collection on the second Friday (8th day). ## The Nikkhil Advani's directorial has taken a lead over Karan Arjun on Saturday as it is expected to gross over 50 lakh. 'Bhagam Bhag 2' Officially Confirmed

Mumbai, November 23 - The sequel to Akshay Kumar, Govinda, and Paresh Rawal's comedy entertainer Bhagam Bhag has officially been confirmed after the news first broke out recently. The OG trio will return to headline the second instalment. ## It was reported that rights for the sequel were recently acquired from Shemaroo Entertainment by Sarita Ashwin Varde of Roaring River Productions, who has also been simultaneously working on the film's script. It will be co-produced by Shemaroo. ## The producer stated that Bhagam Bhag 2 will be funnier and madder than before and added, "A special film like Bhagam Bhag deserves a sequel that’s just as much special; when the time was right, we decided to take the plunge". Mumbai, November 23 - Bollywood superstar Salman Khan is teaming up with Tamil director Atlee for a 2-hero action epic drama and the director is attempting to role in either Kamal Haasan or Rajinikanth for the parallel lead alongside SK, making it one of the biggest casting coups of the modern era. ## The film, which has yet to be officially announced, has created a sensation and is a major topic of discussion among the audience on social media. As things are moving quickly regarding this mega project, the plot details are reportedly revealed, hinting at a never-before-seen epic in the making. ## According to the report by Pinkvilla, A6 (tentative title) is a reincarnation drama set in two distinct eras – past and present. Mumbai, November 22 - One of the Bollywood classics from Yash Raj Films, Kal Ho Naa Ho starring Shah Rukh Khan, Saif Ali Khan, and Preity Zinta, continues to spread magic even after more than 2 decades later.## Directed by Nikhil Advani, the romantic comedy was re-released on November 15, continuing the trend Bollywood has successfully followed throughout this year. The film opened around 12 lakh gross collection from a little over 100 shows before the shows increased from the second day onwards.## Footfalls significantly increased after more shows were added as the movie grossed approximately 90 lakh in the first weekend. The nostalgia factor and popularity among the audiences continued to play its role after the weekend as the Monday collection was almost the same as Saturday. ## The movie grossed approximately 1.50 crores from Monday to Thursday with a positive trend during the weekdays. Tokyo, November 21 - Aamir Khan's production Laapataa Ladies, which is also India's official Oscar 2025 entry, has beaten the lifetime collection of Shah Rukh Khan's Pathaan and Prabhas-fronted Salaar: Ceasefire at the Japanese box office. ## Directed by Kiran Rao, the rural comedy-drama has minted over ¥50 million (2.75+ crore gross) in 45 days so far. Pathaan had grossed approximately 50 million yen while Salaar: Ceasefire earned approximately 46 million yen. Both the films were 2 of the biggest Indian grossers of 2023. ## The total worldwide collection of Laapataa Ladies is approximately 31 crores gross, including 25 crores gross at the Indian box office. The movie was a decent success in India. It is expected to have a good run at the Japanese box office. ## As said, Laapata Ladies is the 14th highest-grossing Indian movie in Japan. In the long run, it might beat Baahubali (¥75 million) and Bajrangi Bhaijaan (¥80 million). Shahid Kapoor's 'Ashwatthama' Shelved?

Mumbai, November 16 - Bollywood star Shahid Kapoor was roped in to headline Pooja Entertainment's mega-budgeted epic Ashwatthama: The Saga Continues. Kannada director Sachin B. Ravi of Avane Srimannarayana fame was on board to direct the film. ## Since the announcement, the film, however, has faced delays and challenges and now, according to the report by Mid-Day, the project has been put on hold indefinitely due to budgetary constraints. It is said that the movie was planned to be made for 500 crores but it was escalating as pre-production advanced. ## The report quoted an insider saying that the project's scale was enormous and was supposed to be shot across multiple countries. However, after they started working on it, the makers felt it was a massive challenge to make it within the planned budget.## Pooja Entertainment, on the other hand, has reportedly been in a financial crisis with back-to-back major box office flops and considering all these things, the team led to a decision to pause production until these issues could be resolved.## Shahid Kapoor, on the other hand, has reportedly moved on from this ambitious project and has started preparation for Vishal Bhardwaj's action thriller film. The actor also has OMG 2 director Amit Rai's historical action drama based on Chhatrapati Shivaji Maharaj.
