Mumbai, June 26 - In April 2017, SS Rajamouli's directorial Baahubali 2 - The Conclusion, starring Prabhas, breached the 100 crores, and 200 crores worldwide opening day mark for an Indian movie. Since then, only RRR, also directed by Rajamouli, could touch 200 crores opening day box office figure. ## 2 years after RRR, Indian cinema might have its third 200 crore worldwide opener in Prabhas-fronted Kalki 2898 AD. Directed by Nag Ashwin, the sci-fi epic is tracking to earn 180+ crores opening with a chance to reach 200 crores (rough estimation), depending on the reception it gets upon release. ## Given the opening on the projected lines, Kalki 2898 AD will be the third biggest Indian opener at the box office. Mumbai, June 25 - Pan India superstar Prabhas-fronted Kalki 2898 AD becomes the first Indian movie of 2024 to sell over 1.8 million tickets for the opening day with a few hours still left for the release and the final ticket count will be over 2 million.## The advance booking gross collection of Kalki is 56+ crores (including block seats) for the first day and it will finish around 60 crores gross before the first show begins which will be among the biggest pre-sales ever for an Indian title. ## The Telugu version is leading the advance booking collection of the sci-fi epic with 40+ crores gross so far, followed by the Hindi version with 7+ crores gross. The Hindi version of the movie has had better pre-sales than Prabhas' last film, Salaar which indicates a very good start in Hindi. ## Meanwhile, Kalki 2898 AD has created an all-time opening day pre-sales record in Hyderabad city by a long margin. Mumbai, June 25 - Kangana Ranaut, the recently elected member of parliament, has announced a new release date for his long-awaited biographical political drama Emergency on the day of the 50th year of The Emergency imposed in 1975 for two years by the then prime minister Indira Gandhi. ## The movie, which is written, directed and stars Kangana Ranaut as the late Indira Gandhi, was supposed to be released on June 14 but it will now hit worldwide theatres on September 6, 2024, and will have a solo release. Mumbai, June 25 - We might have the first Indian film since SS Rajamouli's RRR (2022) and third overall to take the opening of 200 crores at the worldwide box office when Prabhas-fronted Kalki 2898 AD releases on June 27 as one of India's biggest movies of the year. ## Directed by Nag Ashwin, the sci-fi epic is having tremendous hype among the audience and the advance booking response tells the same. The bookings for the movie opened a couple of days ago and it is already flying high, especially in Telugu states with record-breaking numbers. ## The pre-sales of Kalki 2898 AD for the Hindi version are seeing a good response which reaffirms Prabhas' ever-growing stature among the Hindi audience. The booking in Hindi is trending on par or slightly better than Prabhas' last movie, Salaar: Part 1 and this has assured a good opening. ## Given the pre-sales response and the track record of Prabhas with recent films, Kalki 2898 AD is expected to take the opening of 120-140 crores gross in India. The horror-comedy entered the 100 crores gross club on its 17th day. ## Directed by Aditya Sarpotdar, Munjya has approximately 98.35 crores gross (83.30 crores net) in India and an estimated 4.25 crores overseas for 102.60 crores worldwide gross through the third Sunday. It is the second movie in Maddock Films' horror-comedy universe to reach the 100 crores mark after Stree (182 crores).## Starring Abhay Verma, and Sharvari Wagh, Munjya is in the race to top 100 crores net collection. It is expected to reach around 90 crores mark by the end of the second week and then, the race to the century mark will begin thereafter. The filmmaker was supposed to follow with a film with Allu Arjun but he has reportedly backed out. ## After Allu Arjun pulled out of the film, Atlee reportedly approached superstar Salman Khan for his next which is said to be a 2-hero action entertainer. Now, according to the report by Bollywood Hungama, the filmmaker has approached megastar Rajinikanth to headline the film with Salman. ## It is said that the formal meeting of Atlee, Rajinikanth, and Salman Khan will happen next month and things are expected to turn out positive. "Sun Pictures will be producing the film and they share a family-like bond with superstar Rajinikanth. Atlee on the other hand has been in touch with Salman Khan for the last two years. Mumbai, June 24 - Disney and Pixar's Inside Out 2 has become the highest-grossing film of 2024 within just 2 weeks, beating the entire worldwide collection of Warner Bros. Pictures' Dune: Part 2 as the animated coming-of-age heading towards becoming the first billion-dollar grosser of the year. ## The sequel to Inside Out (2015) has had an excellent second weekend at the domestic (North America) and worldwide box office with $264+ million, taking its total global cume to $724+ million (6050 crores) in just 12 days, beating Dune 2's $711 million final run. ## IO2 scored $100 million in its second weekend in North America, becoming the first animated movie and 7th overall to do so. The total domestic collection reached $355 million (2965 crores) and the lifetime domestic total is projected to finish around $650 million. ## Overseas, the movie has grossed $369 million (3085 crores) after adding another huge $164+ million in the second weekend. Mexico is the biggest overseas market for the movie with $64 million, followed by the UK with $29.2 million, and Korea with $29 million. In India, the movie has grossed approximately 20 crores ($2.4 million) in 10 days so far. ## Inside Out 2 is projected to finish its worldwide run around $1.5 billion, which will put it among the top 3 highest-grossing animated movies of all time. Mumbai, June 22 - No actor from South India has dominated the North India box office more than Prabhas, arguably the biggest Indian star at the Pan India level. He has been one of the major reasons for popularizing the term, Pan India in the modern era. ## There have been 9 South Indian films to enter the 100 crores net club in Hindi language and 5 of them are headlined by Prabhas. Including Baahubali, the actor has done 6 movies so far and except for Radhe Shyam, all the films emerged as successes in Hindi, making him the only South Indian origin star to do so. ## It all began with maverick director SS Rajamouli's Baahubali - The Beginning back in 2015 when the movie broke the language barrier and left an everlasting mark at the Hindi box office by becoming the first-ever South Indian movie to cross the 100 crores net collection in the dubbed Hindi version. ## Have a look at the performance of Prabhas' films in the Hindi language since Baahubali - ## 1. Baahubali (2015) - The epic action drama was a huge success with 118.50 crores net (150+ crores gross) collection in Hindi while the worldwide collection was 650 crores in all languages. It came Saaho which was termed non-successful despite grossing over 450 crores worldwide. Radhe Shyam (2022) - After Saaho, the Covid-19 pandemic gripped the world starting in 2020 and the box office dipped to an all-time low not just in India but everywhere. Radhe Shyam was one of the Pan India movies to get released during the pandemic so there weren't many expectations from it at the box office as far as the Hindi version is concerned. It failed miserably by scoring just around 20 crores net in Hindi and was also a major disaster worldwide with just around 150 crores gross. ## 5. Adipurush (2023) - A film which could have challenged Baahubali 2's footfalls in Hindi, but failed miserably due to the poor attempt at the epic Ramayana. It was a box office failure with a worldwide collection of under 400 crores gross but managed to bring Prabhas back into 100 crores net club in Hindi, scoring approximately 148 crores net. ## 6. Salaar Part 1 (2023) - It was the first movie of Prabhas to emerge overall success since Baahubali 2 with a worldwide gross collection of over 600 crores. In Hindi, it crossed the 150 crores net mark and is currently Prabhas' second biggest grosser in the dubbed version with 153 crores net.## The next up for Prabhas is director Nag Ashwin's sci-fi epic mixed with mythology, Kalki 2898 AD which is scheduled to release on June 27. Hyderabad, June 22 - Pan India superstar Prabhas-fronted sci-fi epic Kalki 2898 AD is set to hit the big screens on June 27 amid massive expectations. The second trailer, which was launched on June 21, has raised excitement among the fans and trade which is expecting the movie to do wonders at the box office. ## Directed by Nag Ashwin, Kalki 2898 AD has managed to do a huge worldwide theatrical business as the makers locked record deals for all major areas. According to T2BLive.com, the worldwide business of the film has been valued at 370 crores with a break-even target is 372 crores. ## Kalki will need to score over 700 crores gross collection to emerge as a clean hit and if it does not reach its target mark, the makers will need to return the balance amount to buyers to make for their losses, however, the film is expected to project to become one of the biggest blockbusters of Indian cinema.## In Telugu states (Andhra Pradesh and Telangana), Kalki 2898 AD theatrical business has been valued at 168 crores, including 65 crores in Nizam, 27 crores in Ceeded, 21 crores in UA, 14 and 10 crores in East and West, respectively, 12 crores each for Guntur and Krishna and 7 crores for Nallore area.
