The movie is part of Yash Raj Films' ambitious spy universe. ## Directed by Siddharth Anand, the "Pathaan" teaser was launched a few weeks ago and the fans are now eagerly waiting for its trailer. According to the latest reports, YRF will launch the trailer on January 10, prior to two weeks before the release to keep the buzz high unlike its previous films. ## It is said that the trailer is around 2 minutes 37 seconds and is packed with action sequences, scale, music, and heroism. The eagerness to watch Sunny Deol as Tara Singh has been there among the fans for a long time and they finally got their wish when the makers confirmed the blockbuster. ## On Tuesday (Jan. 3), Zee Studios released a 50-seconds-long montage video teasing the audience with its upcoming movies of 2023. The studio will be releasing 28 films across languages this year and one of them will be Gadar 2. In a blink-and-miss appearance in the video, the studio revealed the first look of Sunny Deol from the movie. ## In "Gadar: Ek Prem Katha", Sunny Deol had a theater-shaking moment when he uprooted a water pump to dodge a violent mob, and now, in the sequel, director Anil Sharma going to recreate that iconic moment with a slight change. Chennai, January 3 - A blockbuster Sankranthi/Pongal awaits the fans as superstars of Tamil and Telugu cinema will be up against each other at the box office to grab the attention of the moviegoers with their respective films.## One of the biggest films of the year and possibly the biggest release this festival, Thalapathy Vijay's Varisu/Vaarasudu is super hot among fans and is going to be the perfect treat for family audiences. ## Directed by Vamsi Paidipally, "Varisu" completes the censorship formalities today and it has been certified with a clean "U" certificate with a run time of 169 minutes (2 hours 49 minutes). Produced by Dil Raju, the movie is confirmed to hit theaters on January 12 in Tamil and Telugu languages. ## Another big Tamil tentpole on Pongal is Ajith Kumar's action thriller Thunivu is making big noise. The movie is directed by H. Vinoth and produced by Boney Kapoor. The makers completed the censorship of the film yesterday and it got a "U/A" certificate with theatrical runtime of 146 minutes (2 hours 26 minutes). It will be hitting theaters on January 11 in Tamil and Telugu. ## Megastar Chiranjeevi and Ravi Teja's much-awaited action drama film Waltair Veerayya was censored recently and it got a "U/A" certificate with theatrical runtime of 155 minutes (2 hours 35 minutes). Directed by Bobby and produced by Mythri Movie Makers, the film is scheduled to hit screens on January 13 in Telugu and Hindi. ## Mythri Movie Makers has another biggie to release this season and that is Nandamuri Balakrishna's action entertainer Veera Simha Reddy. Hyderabad, January 3 - Telugu superstar Pawan Kalyan's classic blockbuster Kushi is having a very good second outing at the box office. The film was re-released recently in limited theaters and is performing better than most of the new releases. ## Directed by S. J. Suryah, "Kushi" had the biggest first day for a Telugu re-released film with a worldwide gross collection of approx. 4.30 crores. The opening-day box office numbers of "Kushi" were pretty impressive considering the fact that the movie was originally released more than 20 years ago in 2021. ## After the big first day, "Kushi" did well on the second day as well by grossing approx. 1.60 crores worldwide. It collected another apporx. 70 lakh on Monday worldwide. The total worldwide collection for "Kushi" re-release is approx. 6.60 crores, including approx. 5.70 crores from Telugu states. ## The first three days' box office collection of "Kushi" is higher than all the new released Telugu films this past weekend, speaks the volume of Pawan Kalyan's star power. The channel aired the episode with different names and religious identities which led to controversy as netizens call for a boycott of the channel. ## SET now issued a statement stating that the episode which led to the controversy was based on the incident that took place in 2011. Chennai, January 2 - The Tamil film industry delivered two of the biggest blockbusters of 2022 in the form of Kamal Haasan's "Vikram" and Mani Ratnam's "Ponniyin Selvan - 1" which grossed over 400 crores worldwide each. This year, the Tamil industry promises to be a lethal force at the Pan India box office with multiple tentpoles lined up to release and one of them is Suriya's next with director Siva. ## In 2022, Suriya announced his maiden collaboration with director Siva for his next, tentatively titled Suriya 42. Disha Patani was confirmed the play the female lead in this action-adventure Pan India film that is being shot in 3D and will be released in 10 Indian languages. ## Now, according to Pinkvilla, producer Dr. Jayantilal Gada of Pen Studios has acquired the Hindi rights of the film for a whopping unheard price. It is said that Pen Studios has acquired the satellite, digital and theatrical rights for the Hindi version of the film for Rs. 100 crores. This is the biggest buy to date for a Suriya film in Hindi and also one of the biggest buys to date for a Pan-India film from the Tamil Film Industry. ## Jayantilal Gada remained one of the most successful Hindi filmmakers in 2022. He released successful Hindi versions of South Indian films like "RRR", "Vikram", "Ponniyin Selvan" and "Sita Ramam" along with producing the hit Bollywood movie "Gangubai Kathiawadi". The producer will now be looking to repeat the success in 2023 with "Ponniyin Selvan - 2" and "Suriya 42". ## "Suriya 42", which is produced by Studio Green and UV Creations, is currently in production and will be wrapped by March this year. Los Angeles, January 2 - Disney's Avatar: The Way of Water would be entering the profit zone in the next few days, according to director James Cameron's latest revised. break-even projection.## Cameron, before the release of the film, had said that "Avatar 2" would need to gross at least $2 billion at the worldwide box office in order to reach the break-even target, but now, he has said that he was a little inaccurate with that projection.## The blockbuster filmmaker further said that the movie will now need to be around the 10th highest-grossing film of all time to break even. That would mean it needs to gross around $1.50 billion worldwide to reach its break-even target. The movie currently stands at $1.38 billion through 3rd Sunday and is likely to reach $1.50 billion in the next couple of days.## "Avatar 2" is heading towards finishing over $2 billion globally or might even reach higher considering its longevity at the box office. Mumbai, January 1 - The Indian film fraternity must be hoping for a massive turnaround at the box office in 2023 and the industry must be happing seeing an excellent response in theaters on the very day of the new year. ## Despite no new movie release this new year's weekend, the Indian box office witnessed an excellent number of footfalls on January 1st, Sunday, with a gross collection of over 40 crores for the movie running in theaters for the last couple of weeks, led by Hollywood movie "Avatar: The Way of Water".## The James Cameron-directed sci-fi epic continues its exceptional run at the box office in India as it grossed another approx. 20 crores today. It has crossed the 400 crores gross mark in India in just 17 days and it will be crossing "Avengers: Endgame" during the next weekend to become the highest-grossing non-Indian film in India. ## The second biggest grosser of the day is Ravi Teja's latest Telugu blockbuster "Dhamaka", which witnessed an unreal jump of over 100% for 8+ crores gross on its 10th day, pushing its total collection to over 60 crores gross worldwide.## Meanwhile, Ritiesh Deshmukh's Marathi movie is turning out to be a big success as it is giving stiff competition to mainstream films and is the 3rd biggest grosser of the day with approx. 6 crores gross. The announcement of the movie was made official with a glimpse video. ## Tentatively titled Nani30, the movie will feature Mrunal Thakur as the female lead and this will be her first film with Nani and second in Telugu after the blockbuster film "Sita Ramam". Nani 30 will be produced by Mohan Cherukuri (CVM), Dr. Vijender Reddy Teegala, and Murthy K S. ## The makers of New Year released a video, unveiling the world of #Nani30. The video shows Nani sitting on top of a building and clicking photos while discussing with his on-screen daughter about his next project. Nani says he will be shaving his beard as well as his mustache which he grew for Dasara.## The glimpse video gives the impression that the movie will be an emotional family entertainer with a different concept and father-daughter bonding is going to be the USP.
