Mumbai, January 9 - James Cameron's Avatar: The Way of Water has become the highest-grossing Hollywood movie at the Indian box office, beating Marvel blockbuster Avengers: Endgame. ## The science-fiction epic has completed 25 days in India and scored approx. 375 crores net. "Avengers: Endgame" had netted approx. 373 crores and is now behind "Avatar 2" in India. As far as the gross collection is concerned, Cameron's directorial has grossed approx. 458 crores while Endgame had scored approx. 445 crores in 2019. ## The sequel to Cameron's highest-grossing film of all time is racing towards 400 crores net in India for all languages. The movie had the second biggest opening week for a Hollywood movie with approx. 194 crores net, followed by 100 crores in the second week. Despite the competition, the movie had another strong 3rd week of approx. 60 crores net and in the 4th week, it has already scored around 20 crores in 4 days for all languages.## At the worldwide box office, "Avatar 2" has become the 7th highest-grossing film ever with a gross collection of $1.71 billion. It is expected to surpass the "Spider-Man: No Way Home" lifetime collection of $1.91 billion by next Sunday to become the 6th biggest grosser. Mumbai, January 9 - Actor-filmmaker Riteish Deshmukh's directorial debut, Marathi film Ved is having a historical run at the box office. The romantic-drama film is a remake of the 2019 Telugu-language film, "Majili", which starred Naga Chaitanya and Samantha Ruth Prabhu in the lead roles. ## "Ved" was released on December 30, 2022, and took one of the biggest openings ever for a Marathi film with 2.25 crores net. It went on to register an excellent opening weekend of 10 crores net before finishing the first week with 20.67 crores. ## Produced by Genelia D'Souza under the banner of Mumbai Film Company, "Ved" was in full flow in the second weekend and scored 10.75 crores net. Bengaluru, January 7 - Kannada superstar, Yash-fronted KGF is one of the most successful film franchises in the country. "KGF: Chapter 2", which was released in April last year, went on to become the highest-grossing Indian film of 2022 and with this, the makers also confirmed the third installment of KGF. ## There have been many inquiries about when will "KGF 3" start rolling since there is no clear confirmation from the makers though it is sure that it won't be in Hombale's immediate future plans as both director Prashanth Neel and Yash will be busy with a different project for the next couple of years. ## As per the latest reports, "KGF" won't only get its third film but it will be built like a James Bond franchise with multiple parts. Producer Vijay Kiragandur has reportedly confirmed that "KGF 3" will start rolling in 2025. He also said that there might be a different actor after 5th installment, much like in the James Bond series. ## Yash is currently in dicussion with multiple filmmakers to set up his next film. James Cameron Confirms 'Avatar' Sequels Will Be Made After 'Avatar 2' Hits Break-Even Target

Los Angeles, January 7 - The road is clear for the next, at least, three Avatar movies as James Cameron confirmed upon the mega success of Avatar: The Way of Water. The blockbuster filmmaker previously said that the future of the Avatar franchise depends on how the second and third Avatar movies perform. ## "Avatar 2" has been projected to reach $1.5 billion at the global box office to break even and the movie has already crossed that mark in about 3 weeks and turned profitable for Disney. It is projected to finish over $2.2 billion in its lifetime run which will make it James Cameron's third straight $2 billion grosser after "Titanic" (1997) and "Avatar" (2009). ## "It looks like just with the momentum that the film has now that will easily pass our break even in the next few days, so it looks like I can't wiggle out of this, I'm gonna have to do these other sequels", Cameron said, as per THR.## "I know what I'm going to be doing the next six or seven years. The point is we're going to be okay. I'm sure that we'll have a discussion soon with the top folks at Disney about the game plan going forward for Avatar 3, which is already in the can – we've already captured and photographed the whole film so we're in extended post-production to do all that CG magic. And then Avatar 4 and 5 are both written. We even have some of 4 in the can. We've begun a franchise at this point. We've begun a saga that can now play out over multiple films", he added.## The sci-fi epic had an estimated production budget of more than $400 million, with a marketing spend that brought the combined price tag to at least $600 million, as per THR. It is one of the costliest films ever and needed higher numbers to break even at the box office and it achieves those with ease. The third installment of the blockbuster franchise is currently scheduled to release in December 2024 and going by Cameron's recent interview, the upcoming films will showcase the evil sides of Na'vi. ## "I want to show the Na'vi from another angle because, so far, I have only shown their good sides. In the early films, there are very negative human examples and very positive Na'vi examples. In Avatar 3, we will do the opposite. We will also explore new worlds while continuing the story of the main characters. I can say that the last parts will be the best. Mumbai, January 7 - Ahead of the trailer of the highly-anticipated spy action thriller Pathaan, Yash Raj Films has launched its 'Spy Universe' logo and confirmed its expansion. ## YRF's ambitious spy universe kicked off with superstar Salman Khan's "Ek Tha Tiger" (2012) and later Hrithik Roshan and Tiger Shroff-fronted "War" joins it and now, SRK's "Pathaan" is the latest entrant in this. Among the upcoming films in this universe, SRK's "Pathaan" and Salman's "Tiger 3" are scheduled to release this year. ## Yash Raj Films have confirmed character crossover in the spy universe and the first glimpse of it will be seen in "Pathaan" which will feature Salman's cameo as Tiger.
