Los Angeles, January 16 - SS Rajamouli's mega movie RRR is continuing its awards hunt on the International stage, and ahead of the big Oscars nominations, the epic period action drama bags two more top honors. ## Starring Jr. NTR and Ram Charan, "RRR" has been awarded the Best Foreign Language Film at the Critics Choice Awards 2023. The movie was nominated with Golden Globe winner, "Argentina, 1985", as well as, "All Quiet on the Western Front", "Decision to Leave", "Close", and "Bardo, False Chronicle of a Handful of Truths". ## "Naatu Naatu" from "RRR" has won the Best Song at the awards. It also won the Golden Globe recently in the original song category. Chennai, January 15 - Thalapathy Vijay's family action drama Varisu is emerging as a favorite Tamil film this Pongal festival, not just in the original Tamil language but also in Telugu and Hindi languages. ## Directed by Vamshi Paidipally, "Varisu" grossed approx. 78 crores domestically in the first 4 days. The movie grossed an estimated 21+ crores on Sunday, including an estimated 13+ crores in the Tamil language, pushing the total domestic gross collection to around 100 crores in the 5-day opening weekend. ## The Telugu version of the film, "Varasudu" did well on the opening day with approx. 5.40 crores and scored another 5.50+ crores gross on its second day for approx. 11 crores gross in two days. The Hindi version is also surprisingly doing well and has grossed approx. 4+ crores gross in three days.## Meanwhile, another Pongal release, Ajith Kumar's Thunivu is too doing well by holding well after the big opening day. The H Vinoth's directorial grossed approx. 65 crores in the first 4 days, and as per the early estimates, it scored an estimated 13.50 crores gross on Sunday, pushing total domestic collection to approx. 79 crores in the opening weekend. ## Both "Varisu" and "Thunivu" are almost having neck-to-neck numbers in Tamil Nadu after 4 days with around 51.50 crores gross each and the situation remains more or less the same after today's collection with around 62 crores each.## Stay tuned...

Hyderabad, January 15 - Megastar Chiranjeevi hits jackpot on the festival of Sankranthi 2023 in the form of action drama film Waltair Veerayya. Directed by Bobby, the movie has completed its 3-day opening weekend on a blockbuster note. ## After grossing approx. 57 crores in the first two days, "Waltair Veerayya" witnesses another mammoth day at the domestic box office as it scores an estimated 22+ crores gross on its third day/first Sunday to push the total collection to around 80 crores gross. ## Also starring Ravi Teja in a pivotal role, "Waltair Veerayya" scored approx. 35 crores share collection in the Telugu states in the first two days. The share collection on Sunday is likely to be in the range of 12 crores, for around 47 crores share in the opening weekend, which is more than 50% of the total business of the film. ## "Waltair Veerayya" also has a shot at crossing 100 crores gross worldwide in the opening weekend. Including today's estimated domestic collection, the worldwide total of the film is around 93 crores. If not today, it will surely go past 100 crores by tomorrow, to become Chiranjeevi's biggest grosser since "Sye Raa Narasimha Reddy" (2019). ## Meanwhile, Nandamuri Balakrishna's Veera Simha Reddy, after rocking the biggest opening day for an Indian movie in 2023, is holding on a decent level. The Gopichand Malineni-directed action drama grossed approx. 62 crores in the first three days, and grossed an estimated 12+ crores on its first Sunday for around 74 crores domestic opening weekend. ## The share collection of "Veera Simha Reddy" is around 44 crores after an estimated 7 crores share on Sunday. Hyderabad, January 15 - Telugu superstar Mahesh Babu reunites with director Trivikram Srinivas for his next film, tentatively titled SSMB 28. The shoot for the same commenced last year but the actor reportedly wasn't happy with the script and how the shoot was progressing as the makers scrapped the shot portions to plan things differently. ## Despite the issues, it didn't take makers too long to rectify those, and now, the makers are ready to start production from January 18, confirmed by producer Naga Vamsi. Pooja Hegde was already on board as the female lead and now, Sree Leela has also been roped in for the second female lead. ## "SSMB 28" was originally announced for April 2023 release but due to the delay in the shoot, producer Vamsi confirmed that the release has been postponed and the movie will now be hitting theaters worldwide on August 11, 2023, during the Independence Day week.## Produced by Haarika & Hassine Creations, "SSMB 28" is one of the most anticipated Telugu films and it is surely going to spread magic at the box office. The Telugu version grossed an estimated approx. 4.50+ crores on the first day. "Varasudu" had a low advance booking for the opening day but surprised one and all with excellent spot booking.## The total domestic gross collection of "Varisu" now stands around 76 crores, including the Telugu version, after 4 days. The movie has crossed 50 crores gross in the home state, Tamil Nadu with today's collection, and worldwide it crossed 100 crores gross, becoming the first Indian film of 2023 to do so. ## Ajith Kumar's "Thunivu", which had a direct clash with "Varisu" is legging behind the Vijay-starrer despite putting up a good collection so far. Hyderabad, January 14 - Megastar Chiranjeevi and Ravi Teja's action drama Waltair Veerayya has had an excellent opening day at the domestic box office for approx. 35 crores. The movie managed to outdo conservative opening-day expectations and put up very good numbers. ## Directed by Bobby, "Waltair Veerayya" got mixed to positive responses and despite that, the movie sees a phenomenal hold on the second day. As per the early estimates, the film grossed 20+ crores on its second day, dropping below 40%. The share collection on the second day is approx. 13 crores.## The total domestic gross collection of "Waltair Veerayya" after two days is approx. 56 crores gross while the share collection is around 36 crores, which is approx. 40% of the total business of the movie. The advance booking for Sunday is excellent for the movie, indicating another big day at the box office for it. ## Meanwhile, Nandamuri Balakrishna's Veera Simha Reddy had a huge drop of approx. 75% on the second day for 10 crores gross. It witnesses a good jump of around 40% on its 3rd day for an estimated 14+ crores gross. Mumbai, January 14 - Superstar Shah Rukh Khan's spy action thriller Pathaan is less than two weeks away from its much-awaited worldwide release. The movie marks SRK's return to the big screen after more than four years so there is genuine excitement among moviegoers. ## Directed by Siddharth Anand, "Pathaan" is scheduled to release on January 25 in Hindi, Tamil, and Telugu languages also in IMAX. While the advance booking for the movie is expected to open in the next couple of days in India, Yash Raj Films has already commenced advances in key international markets and the response so far is pretty impressive. ## The pre-sales of "Pathaan" in North America have crossed $510K (4.14 crores*). In Germany, the pre-booking for the movie has crossed €170K (1.50 crores*) while in Australia, it is approx. A$260K (1.45 crores). The total overseas pre-sales is around 14 crores. ## "Pathaan" is produced by Yash Raj Films.
