Dhanush's 'Thiruchitrambalam' To Release On 18 August 2022

Chennai, June 15 - Sun Pictures has announced the release date of the much-awaited Tamil movie "Thiruchitrambalam", starring Dhanush. The musical romantic comedy film, which was speculated to release on the actor's birthday on July 28, will officially be hitting worldwide theaters on August 18, 2022. ## "Thiruchitrambalam" is directed by Mithran Jawahar who previously directed Dhanush in three movies. The upcoming movie marks their fourth collaboration which also stars Raashi Khanna and Nithya Menen in the female lead roles along with Priya Bhavani Shankar, Prakash Raj, and Bharathiraja in supporting roles. ## Well it’s been a while isn’t ? Los Angeles, June 15 - America's science fiction horror drama series, Stranger Things 4 has become the most-watched English series ever on Netflix. The series reached the top spot by outscoring "Bridgerton: Season 2" in just 17 days. ## Created by The Duffer Brothers, Volume 1 of Season 4 of the show was released on May 27 and it broke the record of the most-watched English series in the first three days on Netflix. The series was watched for 286.8 million hours on the opening weekend, followed by 335 million viewing hours in the week of May 30 - June 5. ## The seven-episode Part 1 of "Stranger Things 4" remained the most-watched Netflix title from June 6 to June 12 worldwide with 159.24 million viewing hours. This takes the total viewing hours of the series to 781.04 million, which is the highest ever in the first 28 days on Netflix. "Bridgerton: Season 2" is at number 2 with 656.26 million viewing hours. ## "Stranger Things 4" topping the Netflix chart is not surprising at all, considering it was the most hyped Netflix series ever since the season was announced. With the final two episodes, which are said to be nearly 5 hours long, yet to premiere, the series might become the most-watched Netflix title for any language. ## Korea's "Squid Game" is the all-time leader among Netflix series in any language with 1.65 billion viewing hours over its first 28 days of release. Part five of "Money Heist" is the second most-watched Netflix series during the said time with 792.23 million hours. SS Rajamouli's 'RRR' Tops Netflix Viewership Again

Hyderabad, June 15 - There is no stopping SS Rajamouli's RRR on Netflix. The Hindi version of this period action drama film remained the most-watched non-English movie worldwide for the third consecutive week on the streamer. ## "RRR" had already become the first Indian movie to be the most-watched film on Netflix for two weeks and it continued to do the same in the third week as well. It scored 5.23 million viewing hours in the week (June 6 - June 12) and was the top Netflix non-English movie during the said period. ## The Jr. NTR and Ram Charan starrer epic blockbuster has scored a cumulative 44.71 million viewing hours in 24 days and is the second most-watched Indian movie on Netflix after Alia Bhatt-fronted Gangubai Kathiawadi. "RRR", however, is likely to become the most-watched Indian movie in the coming days. ## "RRR" has been trending in the top 10 in 17 countries. In Bangladesh, it is currently the number 1 movie on Netflix while it continues to be in the top 10 in countries like India, Pakistan, Bahrain, Qatar, Sri Lanka, and Saudi Arabia, among others. The movie was trending in the top 10 in 54 countries in the last week. ## Meanwhile, another box office blockbuster, Sivakrathikeyan's Don scores big on Netflix. It debuted at number 3 with 3.64 million viewing hours in the first three days. It is also trending in the top 10 in 9 countries, including number 1 in India and Sri Lanka. ## Mammootty's CBI 5: The Brain landed at number 10 in the most-watched non-English films on Netflix worldwide 1.71 million viewing hours. Meanwhile, Alia Bhatt's "Gangubai Kathiawadi" is out of the top 10 for the first time in 6 weeks. Chennai, June 14 - A sequel to superstar Rajinikanth's horror-comedy film "Chandramuki" has been announced by Lyca Productions. The sequel will be headlined by Raghava Lawrence while actor-comedian Vadivelu will be reprising his role from the original movie. ## "Chandramuki 2" will see P Vasu returning to the director's chair. MM Keeravani will be scoring the music for the film with cinematography by RD Rajasekar, and art direction by Thotta Tharani. Interestingly, the movie was also remade in Hindi as "Bhool Bhulaiyaa" (2007), and its sequel "Bhool Bhulaiyaa 2" is currently playing in theaters with a blockbuster box office collection behind it. ## Other details regarding the plot and the cast of "Chandramuki 2" are yet to be announced. Mumbai, June 13 - Marvel Studios is ready for its next blockbuster feature film in the form of Chris Hemsworth's Thor: Love And Thunder. The movie, directed by Taika Waititi, is slated to release on July 8 in the USA while it will debut in Indian theaters a day earlier on July 7 in multiple languages. ## While the excitement for this superhero movie is high, the runtime of "Thor 4" might get criticism as it is reportedly shorter than expected. The recently released "Doctor Strange in the Multiverse of Madness" was just 2 hours 6 minutes. Even though the film has had a blockbuster run at the box office, it received criticism for the length as audiences felt it should have been longer. ## "Thor Love and Thunder's" reported run time is very much in the range of "Doctor Strange 2". As per MCU Direct, the movie's run time is between 1 hour, 55 minutes, and 2 hours, 20 minutes - a range that could be the difference between disappointment and excitement.## As per the same report, the world's two largest theater chains, AMC and Cineworld, listed the runtime for "Thor: Love and Thunder" at 1 hour and 59 minutes. It is very much the official run time of the movie, which makes it the 7th-shortest Marvel Studios movie yet.## Interestingly, Thor movies have always been on the shorter side with only one movie from the first three Thor movies, ran over two hours. "Thor: Ragnarok" run time was 2 hours, 10 minutes and it is the biggest Thor movie. The first movie was just 1 hour, 55 minutes while "Thor: The Dark World" was even shorter with a run time of 1 hour, 52 minutes. ## "Thor 4" is set after the events of Avengers: Endgame (2019). Thor attempts to find inner peace but must return to action and recruit Valkyrie, Korg, and Jane Foster—who has become the Mighty Thor—to stop Gorr the God Butcher from eliminating all gods. Mumbai, June 13 - Universal Pictures' Jurassic World Dominion scored a fantastic opening weekend at the Indian box office, scoring 42.65 crores gross collection for all languages.## The sequel to "Jurassic World: Fallen Kingdom" (2018), showed an upward trend over the opening weekend. The movie scored 11.47 crores net on Friday, including approx. 3.50 crores from Thursday previews. On Saturday, it showed a minor growth for 12.13 crores net, followed by 12.55 crores on Sunday, for a total of 36.15 crores net. ## The Chris Pratt-starrer was the second biggest movie in just concluded weekend after Kamal Haasan's sensational blockbuster "Vikram", which scored 36.25 crores net. The Lokesh Kanagaraj-directed movie has crossed the 300 crores mark at the worldwide box office and is now the second biggest outright Tamil movie of all time. ## Meanwhile, "Jurassic World Dominion" has crossed a whopping $400 million mark globally, at the time of writing this piece. The movie collected $389 million through Sunday, including $143.3 million at the domestic (North America) box office and $245.7 million internationally.## The critics' approval is not with the movie with a low 32% score on Rotten Tomatoes, however, the audience is loving it with A- CinemaScore. The movie was announced in June 2021, and the makers have now locked Akshay for the role. ## It is reported that Akshay was always the first choice of Dharma Productions to play the role of C Sankaran. While the official announcement of Akshay's inclusion is yet to be made, it is said that the paperwork has finally been done and he is officially on board to star in the movie. ## C Sankaran Nair was the former President of the Indian National Congress and a member of the Viceroy's Executive Council who fought the legal battle against the British Raj to uncover the truth about the Jallianwala Bagh Massacre. Sankaran Nair's bravery ignited the freedom struggle across the country and is a testament to the power of fighting for the truth. ## The film is inspired by real-life events and adapted from the book "The Case That Shook The Empire" written by Sankaran Nair's great-grandson, Raghu Palat, and his wife, Pushpa Palat. It will be directed by Karan Tyagi in his directorial debut. According to the latest reports, the action will be returning to the romantic-action genre with director Shashank Khaitan's next film. ## It is said that Tiger has grabbed Khaitan's next directorial which is an out-and-out romantic actioner. The film scored 23.50 crores net on the opening weekend, including an estimated 9.50 crores on Sunday. The worldwide collection has crossed the 30 crores mark in just 3 days. ## The film is proving to be a money-spinner in the home state, Karnataka, which was expected. The opening weekend gross collection is approx. 24 crores, 3rd highest for a Kannada movie in 2022. The worldwide collection now stands at an outstanding $747 million. ## At the domestic box office, the Top Gun sequel remained unaffected despite Jurassic World Dominion taking premium screens. It grossed an excellent $50 million in its 3rd weekend, pushing total domestic gross collection to $393 million. ## Directed by Joseph Kosinski, the Paramount/Skydance film added another $52.7M in 64 overseas markets during its third weekend. This takes the international cume to $354 million. The trailer of this visual spectacle will be released on June 15. ## Produced by Dharma Productions in association with Star Studios, the makers of "Brahmastra" joined hands with SS Rajamouli to present the movie in South Indian languages, they are also planning to bring megastar Chiranjeevi on board.## Director Ayan Mukerji reportedly has had a special meeting with Chiranjeevi and it went off well. It is said that the Megastar has been approached for the Voiceover of the film's Telugu version, however, it is not yet confirmed as the details about the collaboration have been kept secret for now. ## The promotion of the film has already begun nearly 3 months before the release. The movie stars Amitabh Bachchan, Nagarjuna, Ranbir Kapoor, Alia Bhatt, and Mouni Roy in prominent roles.
