The movie opened the door to producer Dinesh Vijan's horror-comedy universe which includes "Roohi" and the upcoming "Bhediya". And now, the prequel to "Stree" is reportedly in the development at the Maddock Films studio. ## Shraddha Kapoor has been shooting for Luv Ranjan's untitled romantic comedy with Ranbir Kapoor since January 2021. The movie is in the final leg of the shoot and will be wrapped up soon. According to Peepingmoon.com, Shraddha's next after Luv Ranjan's film will be the prequel to "Stree", which will go on floors in August this year. ## Dinesh Vijan is working on multiple horror comedies and plans to build a cinematic universe around them. After Stree, Roohi, and Bhediya, the team is now working to expand the universe. Chennai, June 19 - The long standing box office record of SS Rajamouli's all-time blockbuster "Baahubali 2 The Conclusion" has finally been broken by Kamal Haasan-fronted "Vikram" in Tamil Nadu state. ## Directed by Lokesh Kanagaraj, "Vikram" has scored an estimated 154 crores gross, including an estimated 5.50 crores on Sunday, to become new box office King in Tamil Nadu state. "Baahubali 2" had grossed 152.60 crores in the state in 2017.## "Vikram" is a surprise blockbuster in the home state. It was expected to go big, but no one had thought it will beat Baahubali 2 at the box office. The unprecedented box office success of this Tamil summer blockbuster has put director Lokesh in the elite league.## The action thriller movie is currently the second Highest-Grossing outright Tamil movie of all time, behind only Rajinikanth's "2.0". Chennai, June 18 - Lokesh Kanagaraj has become a talk of the town and is one of the sought-after directors after the mega-blockbuster success of "Vikram", starring Kamal Haasan. The maverick filmmaker is now gearing up for his next film which will reunite him with Thalapathy Vijay after the blockbuster "Master". ## The movie, tentatively titled "Thalapathy 67" is expected to go on floors by the end of this year and it will be a gangster drama film as confirmed by Lokesh himself in a recent media conversation. Now, according to Pinkvilla, Vijay will play the role of a character closer to his actual age in the film. ## It is reported that the film's story has some flashback sequences featuring the younger version of Thalapathy's character while a major part of the story will see Vijay in the 40s. He will reportedly be sporting a salt and pepper look, and the character presentation will be on the lines of Rajinikanth's classic blockbuster "Baasha" (1995). ## Lokesh is creating his own cinematic universe and "Vikram" was part of it. The first film in the LCU was Karthi's "Kaithi". Lokesh recently said that his "Maanagaram" (2017), and "Master" (2021) will be standalone films while his upcoming movies will be a part of LCU, and "Thalapathy 67" might be the next film in the LCU.## "He definitely wants to bring Vijay also into the universe since he is playing a gangster. There is a version of Thalapathy 67 that has the presence of some characters from Kaithi and Vikram in it, but there are ample formalities and Lokesh is waiting to get approval from all the stakeholders before locking the final draft", says the report.## Thalapathy 67 will be produced by Seven Screen Studio and it is rumored to have Samantha Ruth Prabhu as the female lead. Thalapathy Vijay, meanwhile, is currently shooting for his Tamil-Telugu bilingual movie with director Vamshi Paidipally. Mumbai, June 18 - The iconic television show, "Shaktimaan" was a huge hit when it was first aired in 1997. Mukesh Khanna played the titular superhero character and his alter ego Pandit Gangadhar Vidhyadhar Mayadhar Omkarnath Shastri, a photographer for the newspaper Aaj Ki Aawaz.## The legendary superhero character, which made the childhood of 90s kids awesome, will now be returning to the big screen in the form of the "Shaktimaan" trilogy. Sony Pictures, which is behind the Marvel superhero films like "Spider-Man", and "Venom", hold the rights to the film. ## In a recent conversation with Amar Ujala, Mukesh Khanna shared a few details about the movie and also hint who could play the titular role. The actor, and producer said that it will be made on a huge budget of Rs. 300 crores and will have full desi vibes. ## "This project has come to me after many years. People used to tell me to make Shaktimaan 2. I didn't want to bring Shaktimaan back on TV", Khanna said. "After internal talks, I joined hands with the Sony people and later made the news public. People want to know what’s happening next. Now, what should I tell them? This is a big film of at least Rs 300 crore. Can't tell you much about it till everything is finalized". ## "This movie is being made by the makers of Spider-Man. But, Shaktimaan will be desi. I have prepared the story of the film in my own way. My only condition to them was that they wouldn't change the story", he added. ## Mukhesh Khanna hints that he might turn Shakitmaan again as he feels that the Indian audience will not accept anyone else in this iconic role. "People ask who will become Shaktimaan? This is also a very big question in itself, which I will not answer, but it is also certain that without Mukesh Khanna, there will be no Shaktimaan. The numbers include $422.1 million domestically (North America) and $384.2 million at the worldwide box office, as per The Hollywood Reporter. This takes the movie past "Fallout" ($791 million) to become the number one movie for Hollywood superstar. ## "Top Gun 2" had already become the biggest domestic grosser of Cruise's career by crossing "War of the Worlds" ($243.3 million), and now it has topped worldwide score too. The movie has a shot to become the first $1 billion grosser for Cruise and it looks very much on track to reach the target. ## The box office biz of "Top Gun 2" got boosted by strong positive word of mouth. The movie has had a memorable run so far at the box office, be it domestic or overseas. ## The Lokesh Kanagaraj-directed action thriller film scored 61.10 crores gross in the second week, dropping 64% from the opening week. This takes the total domestic gross collection to 229.6 crores over two weeks. The second-week hold is remarkable considering "Vikram" being a Tamil movie as Tamil films tend to take a huge drop in the second week. ## The golden box office run of "Vikram" has put the movie on track to become the biggest grosser in Tamil Nadu. It has grossed a whopping 140 crores in the state in the first two weeks and is currently the third-highest-grossing film of all time in the state.
