Warner Bros.' $160M Sci-Fi Epic 'Dune' Leaked Online A Day Before Release

Los Angeles, October 22 - Warner Bros. Pictures' strategy of releasing its 2021 films day-and-date on HBO Max and in theaters is coming to haunt them big time. The Studio made it's one of the most ambitious films of 2021 "Dune" available on its streaming platform HBO Max a day before theatrical release.## However, Denis Villeneuve-directed couldn't prevent itself from hitting piracy as this epic sci-fi film leaked online in full HD quality a day before its American release. According to Variety, at least three major illegal streaming sites are hosting HD quality streaming copies of "Dune" in English, Danish, Spanish and Arabic subtitles.## Apart from leaking online, thousands of users are also hosting and sharing copies of the film on torrent sites, making it available easily to the users without getting paid. "Dune" isn't the only Hollywood blockbuster leaked online. The recently released "Black Widow" and Venom: Let There Be Carnage" had also succumbed to piracy. However, both "Black Widow" and "Venom 2" rarely leaked in high resolution unlike "Dune". ## "Black Widow" is said to be the most pirated Hollywood film ever. Just like "Dune", "Black Widow" had also been released on Disney+ and in theaters simultaneousouly. It grossed approx $380M worldwide and was also a big hit on Disney+. ## "Dune", however, despite leaking online in full HD prints, is not bothering Warner Bros. Pictures as reports say that the piracy is within normal studio expectations and it is also tracking to be half as much as other blockbusters in 2021. Meanwhile, according to a report from the Global Innovation Policy Center (via CNBC), the U.S. economy loses between $29.9 billion and $71 billion in revenue each year due to piracy.## Meanwhile, "Dune", which stars an ensemble cast including Timothée Chalamet, Rebecca Ferguson, Oscar Isaac, Josh Brolin, Stellan Skarsgård, Dave Bautista, Stephen McKinley Henderson, Zendaya, David Dastmalchian, Chang Chen, Sharon Duncan-Brewster, Charlotte Rampling, Jason Momoa, and Javier Bardem, has already been released in the international market and earned approx $130 million so far. At domestic market, where it was released on October 22, is projected to earn between $30 million and 40 million in the 3-day opening weekend. In normal times, this Rohit Shetty directorial could have easily become the highest-grossing film of all time for Akshay Kumar, but because of the covid-19 pandemic, things have become uncertain so is the box office success. ## However, despite the current circumstances, the movie is expected to do very well at the box office. The recent data by Ormax media suggests that the confidence among movie lovers has increased significantly to visit cinemas for the first time in the pandemic era. The success of the country on the vaccination front has also ensured that things are getting back to normal and visiting cinemas is safe for the public.## Meanwhile, there is chatter among the biz analysts and fans regarding the box office potential of "Sooryavanshi" and how much the film could make on its first day. The historical drama film was supposed to hit the floors in March 2020, but the covid-19 pandemic spoiled the party and the movie was put on hold indefinitely. ## With no development since the announcement, many thought the filmmaker might have dropped the idea of making this film. However, it was recently reported that the movie is still on and will take off at the right time. And now, the filmmaker himself clarified that "Takht" has not been shelved and will go on floors after his ongoing film "Rocky Aur Rani Ki Prem Kahani" starring Alia Bhatt and Ranveer Singh in the lead. ## In a conversation with Film Companion, Karan Johar explained the reason behind the project getting delayed and also said that it will be his immediate next film after the currently on floors, romantic-comedy RRKPK. "No, I am going to make that movie right after Rocky Aur Rani. I can't let that getaway. That film is a piece of my heart. It's got two and a half years of my prep work on it. We were rearing to go", Karan told. ## "I still remember we were starting on April 24 when the pandemic hit us in March. The film was so vast, voluminous and on a large scale, that on a daily basis, it needed a thousand people on set. It was that kind of film", he added. ## Calling the film his passion project, Karan further said, "I will always say, Rocky Aur Rani is my excitement project, but Takht is my passion project. And you cannot run away from your passion. Los Angeles, October 21 - There is some great news for Hulk's fans. Marvel Studios is reportedly developing the sequel to "The Incredible Hulk" (2008) which is currently being called, World War Hulk. Having starred in several Marvel Cinematic Universe movies, Hulk is the only MCU's Phase 1 film to not have a sequel yet. ## According to GWW, the first solo film for Mark Ruffalo as Hulk will begin production in late 2022 with a likely release window in the later half of 2023 or the beginning of 2024. The first Hulk movie since 2008, likely to follow the events of the upcoming She-Hulk series on Disney+.## "The Incredible Hulk" was the only second film in MCU. Earlier, Universal Pictures had the film rights, and a movie titled "Hulk" was made under Universal in 2003, which starred Eric Bana as Bruce Banner/Hulk. However, with the rumor of a new Hulk film in development at Marvel, it possibly means Universal has lost the rights, which means they would revert back to Marvel.## Marvel's "World War Hulk" is a popular comic book storyline, which serves as a sequel to another popular Hulk story, Planet Hulk, partially adapted in the 2017 film "Thor: Ragnarok". Mumbai, October 21 - It was recently reported that actor Shahid Kapoor would be teaming up with producer Bhushan Kumar again after their blockbuster outing "Kabir Singh". The latest development is that the movie has been titled "Bull", which is set in the 1980s and inspired by events from the life of Brigadier Bulsara.## "Bull" will jointly be produced by Bhushan Kumar's T-Series and Amar Butala and Garima Mehta's Guilty By Association. The in-demand duo of writers, Aseem Arrora and Parveez Shaikh have written the story and screenplay while Aditya Nimbalkar will be making his directorial debut with this film, set to go on floors in early 2022. ## "Bull is a full-blown action film inspired by real events from the life of Brigadier Bulsara", said Shahid Kapoor (via Deadline). "It is a privilege to play a paratrooper who leads his boys through a historic and selfless mission that has now become iconic for its precision and bravado. The opportunity to play a paratrooper is exhilarating and truly an honour". ## Producer Bhushan Kumar, who has a number of big titles in the pipeline, express that he is happy to reunite with Shahid after Kabir Singh and also delighted to join hands with Guilty By Association for the first time.## "I am happy to collaborate with Shahid again after the fantastic performance of Kabir Singh at the box office. This film also marks the beginning of my association with Amar Butala and Garima Mehta and we hope great cinema emerges from our hard work", added Bhushan Kumar.## Amar Butala said, "This film is our homage to the men in uniforms, our soldiers who put the nation’s pride over all else. The film will see Shahid in an exciting new avatar, and I am happy to begin this journey with him and T Series".## Shahid Kapoor is currently filming for his debut web series on Amazon Prime Video. Robert Oppenheimer, the theoretical physicists remembered as one of the fathers of the atom bomb, the movie will see Blunt teaming up with Nolan for the first time in her career. She will star alongside Cillian Murphy, who plays the title role in this film, written and directed by Nolan. ## Emily Blunt recently appeared in Paramount Pictures' A Quiet Place Part II and Disney's Jungle Cruise. Both the films grossed over $100 million at the domestic box office, which led Disney to announce the sequel of its adventure movie, which also stars Dwayne Johnson in the lead. ## Universal Pictures will release Nolan's Oppenheimer after recently getting the rights of the film. This development came as a result of not contributing enough to the show. ## While things never get easy in the show, many housemates found breaking Bigg Boss rules, which resulted in punishment by Bigg Boss in which the housemates had to evict any two contestants who they think have made the least contribution to the show. That's when the housemates ended up voting out Donal and Vidhi for not being able to catch hold the grip of the show.## Vidhi Pandya, after coming out from the house, explained the reason which led to her eviction. "See, I am an emotional person and I never did anything for the camera. In fact, I am lazy to think so much about strategies to be in the show and maybe not a great entertainer in terms of dancing or doing fights or getting into arguments or being part of gossip or just for the sake of getting the action. I prefer to be myself and that is what I did in the show", she said.## Vidhi was on good terms with some of the housemates such as Jay Bhanushali, Karan Kundrra, Umar Riaz, and Tejasswi Prakash. When asked about who could no longer be in the show, Vidhi said, "Tejasswi Prakash, as she is playing the game very nicely and I really want to see her winning the game". ## "In fact, Vishal Kotian is also doing well and I had good terms with him. But he is more into making strategies. In fact, this is turning out to be negative for him, as not only the audience but housemates also know what actually he is as a person", she added. ## While housemates voted out Vidhi and Donal on the basis of not doing much for the show, Vidhi, however, thinks that there are a couple of housemates who are also not doing much but still are in the show. "Simba Nagpal and Akasa don’t seem like much involved in the game. Of, course I have no personal enmity but as far the game is concerned, Simba is least involved. In fact, he is not performing well in the task", she said. ## "Akasa is also not interacting much with other housemates. She has just good equations and friendship with Pratik.
