Marvel Studios' 'Shang-Chi' Sequel Greenlit To Begin Production In 2023: Report
Los Angeles, October 29 - Marvel Studios' recently released new superhero film, "Shang-Chi and The Legend of The Ten Rings" has been one of the biggest stories so far in Hollywood. The Simu Liu starrer not only became the biggest domestic blockbuster of 2021 but also opened the doors for its preceder in the coming future.## There were reports that the sequel of "Shang-Chi" is in the works at the Marvel Studios, and now, according to GWW, the sequel has been greenlit and is reportedly set to begin production in 2023. It is said that Marvel is keen on expanding the world of Shang-Chi, especially with the rumored Ten Rings spin-off in the works. ## Directed by Destin Daniel Cretton, "Shang-Chi" has ruled the domestic box office since its debut on September 3. With approx $220 million at the North American box office, "Shang-Chi" is the first Hollywood film so far to reach $200 million during the covid-19 pandemic. Worldwide, it is the seventh-highest-grossing film of 2021 with a gross collection of over $420 million. ## The movie stars Simu Liu as Shang-Chi alongside Awkwafina, Meng'er Zhang, Fala Chen, Florian Munteanu, Benedict Wong, Michelle Yeoh, Ben Kingsley, and Tony Leung. In the film, Shang-Chi is forced to confront his past when his father Wenwu (Leung), the leader of the Ten Rings organization, draws Shang-Chi and his sister Xialing (Zhang) into a search for a mythical village.## Stay tuned...
