Uttar Pradesh, Gujrat, Among The New States To Allow 100% Theater Occupancy Ahead Of Sooryavanshi Release

Mumbai, October 31 - Ahead of the big theatrical release of Rohit Shetty's cop drama "Sooryavanshi", the governments of Uttar Pradesh, Gujrat, among the few others, have permitted 100% occupancy in theaters. ## As of now, 9 states have allowed theaters to operate with full capacity, and half of them fall in North India, which is a great sign for the "Sooryavanshi" release. West Bengal has allowed 70% occupancy while Punjab theaters are allowed to run with 2/3 (66%) of full capacity. The biggest movie market for Hindi cinema, Maharashtra has permitted cinema halls to run with 50% capacity. ## "Sooryavanshi" release date was finalized after the announcement of theaters reopening in Maharashtra. New Delhi, October 31 - Punjabi film, "Honsla Rakh", is on track to become the biggest Punjabi hit of the covid-19 pandemic era. The romantic-comedy, starring Diljit Dosanjh, Shehnaaz Gill, and Sonam Bajwa has continued its blockbuster run at the box office, not only in India but also overseas. ## Directed by Amarjit Singh Saron, "Honsla Rakh" was released on October 15 on the occasion of Dussehra, and so far, it has grossed over Rs. 42 crores worldwide, including over Rs. 21 crores in India. It earned Rs. 7.62 crores in the first weekend in India, and with strong words of mouth has helped to continue to do well. ## Overseas, Honsla Rakh, reporting Housefull shows in Canada, which is the biggest movie market for a Punjabi film outside India. In the coming weekend, Honsla Rakh is expected to outscore "Chal Mera Putt 2" worldwide box office total of Rs. 54.50 crore to become the top Punjabi grosser during the pandemic.## Producer Daljit Thind and Diljit Dosanjh's film's success shouldn't come as a surprise, with Diljit being one of the biggest Punjabi stars. Shehenaaz Gill, being a new sensation in the Punjabi industry also played a big part in the film's success while Sonam Bajwa is also popular in Pollywood. The movie also stars Gippy Grewal's son Shinda Grewal. ## Apart from being a big box office hit, Honsla Rakh is also ruling Youtube charts. The trailer of the film, which was released on September 27, has become the most-watched Punjabi movie trailer of all-time on Youtube. During the media interaction recently, the Baahubali filmmaker had spoken elaborately on all the questions asked by his fans and the media. ## Having worked with some of the biggest Telugu actors over the years, SS Rajamouli was asked one of the fans why he never directed Power Star Pawan Kalyan. Considering the fact that Pawan Kalyan is one of the biggest stars in the south film industry, Rajamouli was quizzed about directing Telugu's 'Powerstar'.## "I really love Pawan Kalyan", said Rajamouli and went on to explain why things failed to materialize and how both went their ways to attain their own interests.## "In the initial times in my career, I tried my best to come up with a story for Pawan Kalyan. Los Angeles, October 30 - Tom Hardy-fronted "Venom: Let There Be Carnage" continues to climb new heights as it becomes the second biggest Hollywood film at the North American box office in 2021. ## The superhero film is on track to earn another $5 million this weekend, lifting its total domestic gross collection to $190 million. It tops Marvel Studios' "Black Widow" which earned $183.7 million during its domestic run. ## Venom 2 is now only behind Marvel's "Shang-Chi" which has earned over $220 million so far at the domestic box office and is the only film to reach the $200 million mark during the covid-19 pandemic. Overseas, the Venom sequel has raked in over $170 million so, taking its total global box office to close to $360 million.## The return of superhero movies has been a big benefit for the box office, which is still on the rise after its COVID-19 setback. Mumbai, October 30 - Rajkummar Rao and Bhumi Pednekar-starrer family comedy-drama film "Badhaai Do" has been announced to release in theaters during the Republic Day 2022 weekend. Directed by Harshavardhan Kulkarni, "Badhaai Do" serves as a spiritual sequel to the 2018 film Badhaai Ho.## "When it comes to family entertainers especially comedy films, cinema is the ideal platform as they can be enjoyed with the entire family", said director Harshavardhan Kulkarni.## "We are super excited to bring 'Badhaai Do' in cinema halls on the Republic Day weekend. It's a wholesome entertainer and I really hope the audiences would enjoy watching the movie as much as we enjoyed creating it", he added. ## Produced by Junglee Pictures, the film marks the first collaboration between Rao and Bhumi, who will be essaying the role of a cop in a Mahila police thana, Bhumi plays the role of a PT teacher in the film, respectively. It is co-written by Suman Adhikary and Akshat Ghildial, who also had written "Badhaai Ho". ## The family entertainer also boasts of an ensemble cast featuring seasoned actors like Seema Pahwa, Sheeba Chadha, Lovleen Mishra, Nitish Pandey, Shashi Bhushan amongst others essaying pivotal roles taking the narrative ahead.## "Bringing powerhouse talents like Raj, Bhumi, Harsh, and Akshat-Suman together on this movie has been truly phenomenal. Amazon Prime Video Paid A Whopping Rs. 450 Crores To Acquire Post-Theatrical Rights For 6 Yash Raj Films' Film!

Mumbai, October 30 - A couple of days ago, Amazon Prime Video and Yash Raj Films signed a deal for the post-theatrical streaming rights of YRF's 4 upcoming films that include Bunty Aur Babli 2, Prithviraj, Jayeshbhai Jordaar, and Shamshera. These films will be available to stream on Prime Video after 4-weeks of theatrical release. ## As per the industry insiders, Amazon Prime Video has paid Rs. 250 crores for the four aforementioned films, which is one of the biggest deals for movies, streaming after theatrical release. Earlier, there were reports that Amazon had offered Rs. 450 crores to YRF for direct-to-digital release of the said films. However, Aditya Chopra of YRF was always wanted his films to have theatrical release first.## Apart from the 4 aforementioned films, Prime Video has reportedly acquired the post-theatrical streaming rights of YRF's two more most-awaited films - Tiger 3 and Pathan. However, neither Prime Video nor YRF made an official announcement regarding the two films but it is said that the two companies reached a deal that will give access to Prime Video to stream Tiger 3 and Pathan after 8-weeks of theatrical release. ## Salman Khan starrer "Tiger 3" and Shah Rukh Khan's "Pathan" are undoubtedly the biggest projects in the YRF slate and these two films will hold great value even after theatrical release. According to reports, Prime Video was keen to bag both and offered a whopping Rs 200 crores offer for 8-weeks theatrical window. The computer-animated science fiction action-adventure film received 83 million views in the first 24-hours of release. ## That number not only beats the 24-hour traffic of teasers from Toy Story 4 (62M), Soul (32M), and Luca (28M), but it also beats that of Eternals, which saw 77M global views from its first trailer, released in May. Eternals ranked as the most-watched trailer for a Disney-Marvel movie during the pandemic.## Lightyear's first-day online traffic also outscores that of Cruella, which saw 77 million views in 24-hours. Among the first 24-hours views for a Pixar teaser, Lightyear is only behind Incredibles 2, which is the most-watched Pixar movie teaser with 114 million views during the said time.## "Lightyear" is a spin-off of Pixar's Toy Story series, serving as an origin story for the fictional human character Buzz Lightyear, who inspired the action figure of the same name. It is being directed by Angus MacLane in his solo directorial debut and stars the voice of Chris Evans as the title character.## Lightyear opens over Father's Day weekend, the traditional Pixar summer movie launching pad, on June 17, 2022. Or sequels to shows that have nothing more to say", Nawazuddin said.## "When I did Sacred Games for Netflix, there was an excitement and challenge around the digital medium. New talent was being given a chance Now that freshness is gone. It's become Dhanda (racket) for big production houses and actors who are now so-called stars on the OTT platform".## "Major film producers in Bollywood have cut lucrative deals with all the big players in the OTT field. Producers get whopping amounts to create unlimited content. The quantity has killed quality", the actor added. He finds OTT shows unbearable now. "When I can't bear to watch them how can I bear to be in them?".## Nawazuddin Siddiqui, meanwhile, has plenty of projects in the pipeline. Bangalore, October 29 - In shocking turns of events, Kannada superstar Puneeth Rajkumar passed away on Friday at the age of 46. The actor suffered a massive heart attack in the morning was admitted to a private hospital in Bengaluru.## Puneeth Rajkumar developed chest pain in the morning and visited his family doctor for an ECG. Following the ECG, he was asked to rush to the hospital. He was admitted to Vikram Hospital’s ICU in a serious condition around 11.30 am, a doctor at the hospital said.## Karnataka minister Dr. CN Ashwathnarayan confirmed the news to PTI. "He had accomplished immensely from an early age. Mumbai, October 29 - Ace filmmaker SS Rajamouli and the largest multiplex chain of India, PVR Cinemas has collaborated for a first-of-its-kind association for the upcoming magnum opus, RRR. As per the collaboration, PVR has decided to alter its brand identity and logo to the movie name RRR. Starting today, PVR will now be referred to as 'PVRRR'. ## Announcing the same, RRR director SS Rajamouli and Ajay Bijli – Chairman & Managing Director PVR Ltd have unveiled the new 'PVRRR' logo in front of the gathered media. PVR as the business partner will promote the film RRR at all their theatres across the country.## Commenting on the initiative, Mr. Ajay Bijli said, "RRR is one of the biggest, most expensive, and greatly anticipated movies of 2022. We are proud to be associated with this larger-than-life spectacle, helmed by SS Rajamouli and considered to be yet another game-changer in the movie business. I am sure this initiative will be able to generate good buzz for 'RRR' and build huge anticipation among the movie buffs".## Speaking about the same, SS Rajamouli added, "I am really happy that theatres are reopening, as I believe the magic of cinema is truly enjoyed in theatres. We are happy that RRR will be releasing in cinemas in January next year and to announce the same what better way to associate with PVR which is now PVRRR".## RRR is a period action drama film, set in pre-independence India. The film is a fictional take on the younger days of celebrated freedom fighters, Komaram Bheem and Alluri Seetharamaraju. The biggest multi-starrer of India features, Jr. NTR, Ram Charan along with Ajay Devgn, and Alia Bhatt in the leading roles. It is produced by D. V. V. Danayya. Vidyut Jammwal Reunites With Panorama Studios For The Third Time For An Untitled Film

Mumbai, October 29 - Action star Vidyut Jammwal and Kumar Mangat Pathak of Panorama Studios are joining forces again after Khuda Haafiz and Khuda Haafiz Chapter II. While the details of their third collaboration will be revealed soon, it is an untitled film pegged for a theatrical release. ## "It is reassuring to be working with like-minded people. The viewers are in for a surprise", Vidyut said. ## Vidyut and Panorama studios' first film together, "Khuda Haafiz" was a direct-to-digital released in 2020. The success of the film paved the way for its sequel, which is titled "Khuda Haafiz Chapter II Agni Pariksha". It is currently in production and it also stars Shivaleeka Oberoi and Dibyendu Bhattacharya. ## Kumar Mangat Pathak, Founder and MD of Panorama Studios, said that he is excited to reunite with Vidyut for a special film that has all the elements to bring the audiences to theaters. ## "We have a history of two films with Vidyut - one (Khuda Haafiz) received unprecedented views on OTT and the other (Khuda Haafiz Chapter II Agni Pariksha) has stirred a lot of excitement ahead of its release.
