Box Office: Black Panther 2 Hits $28 Million Opening In North America
Los Angeles, November 11 - Marvel Studios' Black Panther: Wakanda Forever scored the 6th biggest Thursday previews opening for a Marvel film with $28 million at the domestic (North America) box office.



The blockbuster sequel topped the original "Black Panther" which scored $25.2 million in 2018 but fell short of fellow 2022 Marvel titles "Doctor Strange in the Multiverse of Madness" ($36M) and "Thor: Love and Thunder" ($29M). Overall, Black Panther 2's previews rank as the 15th top preview performance in Hollywood history.



Ryan Coogler's directorial is eyeing a $180 million opening weekend domestic gross, which is short of its predecessor's $202 million start. The Rotten Tomatoes audience score of "Black Panther 2" is 94% while "Black Panther" has 79%. As per Deadline, "Wakanda Forever" counted $66M in advance sales as of Thursday, which is behind "Doctor Strange 2's" $85M, but ahead of "Thor: Love & Thunder's" $48M.
