Box Office: 'Deadpool and Wolverine' Becomes The Highest-Grossing R-Rated Movie of All Time
Mumbai, August 16 - Marvel Studios and Disney's superhero comedy Deadpool and Wolverine has officially become the highest-grossing R-rated (equivalent to A-rating in India) movie of all-time at the worldwide box office, beating Warner Bros. Pictures' Joker.



Starring Ryan Reynolds and Hugh Jackman in the titular roles, Deadpool & Wolverine has earned $1.08+ billion globally so far, which takes it past Joker which had grossed $1.07 billion in its lifetime run. These two are the only R-rated movies to top $1 billion worldwide.



As reported earlier, Deadpool 3 is the first Disney-released Marvel Cinematic Universe (MCU) movie since Avengers: Endgame in 2019 to top $1 billion globally, and, it is also the first R-rated movie released by Disney. Overall, it is the first MCU title since Sony's Spider-Man: No Way Home (2021) to reach the milestone.



Earlier, the third Deadpool instalment scored the biggest opening of 2024 at the domestic (North America and Worldwide box office with $211 million and $444 million, respectively. It didn't take much time for it to break into the $1 billion club, making it only the second movie of the year after Inside Out 2 to achieve the feat.
