Box Office: 'Jaat' Opening Day Early Estimates
According to early estimates, Jaat is looking to score in the range of 9-10 crores net collection, which is the 4th biggest opening for a Bollywood title of the year. The industry has been feeling the heat due to the low success ratio this year, and Jaat comes as a much-needed relief.
The film is best in mass belts, which show an upward trend throughout the day due to positive word of mouth. However, at the same time, it is poor in metro cities, which is expected as the content of the movie is not aimed at them.
Jaat also benefited from the poor performance of Salman Khan's Sikandar, which goes down further under the 1 crore mark, and with no hope to bounce back, the Sunny Deol-starrer has a clear road for at least a week before Akshay Kumar's Kesari 2 arrives.
The movie is likely to see a little drop on Friday, but is expected to score well on Saturday and Sunday as the initial reception among its target audience is positive. At this point, the 4-day opening weekend is heading for 40-50 crores net, which is good.
