Chennai, October 4 - Tamil blockbuster Ponniyin Selvan - Part 1 is a one-horse race at the box office and is racing towards the 300 crores mark globally.



Directed by Mani Ratnam, the movie has another massive day at the domestic box office, as it grossed an estimated 26-28 crores on its first Tuesday, jumping over 20% from Monday. The total domestic gross collection has reached approx. 180 crores in just 5 days.

As reported earlier, "PS-1" has crossed 100 crores gross mark in Tamil Nadu state and becomes the fastest film ever to achieve the milestone. It collects an estimated 19 crores on Tuesday, for a total of approx. 114 crores gross in the state.



Meanwhile, the Hindi version of the film is surprisingly doing well and witnesses a jump of over 30% on its 5th day for an estimated 1.90 crores gross, pushing the total collection to approx 13.40 crores gross in the dubbed version. Worldwide, "PS-1" has grossed an estimated 284 crores (not counting the overseas total on Tuesday). It will breach the 300 crores mark by tomorrow.



The movie is produced by Madras Talkies and Lyca Productions and stars an ensemble cast including Jayam Ravi, Vikram, Karthi, Aishwarya Rai Bachchan, and Trisha Krishnan, among others in key roles.
