Roi Roi Binale becomes the first Assamese film to cross the Rs 25 Crore mark; Zubeen Garg's final film is an All-Time Blockbuster

BY SACNILK

The Assamese film industry (Jollywood) has witnessed its biggest box office phenomenon to date. Roi Roi Binale, the musical romantic drama starring the late cultural icon Zubeen Garg, has rewritten history books. Riding on an unprecedented emotional wave as Zubeen Garg’s final on-screen appearance, the film has shattered every existing record in the state. In a landmark achievement, Roi Roi Binale has become the first-ever Assamese film to cross the ₹25 Crore mark, signalling a golden era for regional cinema. What makes this success even more astounding is the film's modest scale. Reportedly mounted on a budget of just ₹5 Crore, the film has delivered a return on investment (ROI) that rivals the biggest national blockbusters. The musical drama, directed by Rajesh Bhuyan, has registered a domestic collection of ₹33+ Crore (as per available data), turning into a colossal All-Time Blockbuster for the producers. The film has found immense love not just in urban centres like Guwahati but has also brought audiences back to single screens across smaller towns in Assam. Before Roi Roi Binale, the benchmark for Assamese cinema was set by recent hits like Bidurbhai (approx. ₹15 Cr) and Sri Raghupati (approx. ₹13-14 Cr). Roi Roi Binale has not only surpassed these figures but has effectively doubled the highest benchmark. The film's performance in the home market is a testament to the star power of Zubeen Garg and the audience's emotional connection to the project. Roi Roi Binale is not just a film; it has become a cultural movement in Assam. With a profit percentage exceeding 500%, it has been officially declared an All-Time Blockbuster, standing as one of the most profitable films of 2025 across all Indian industries. As the industry celebrates this historic ₹25 Crore breach, the film serves as a fitting cinematic tribute to Zubeen Garg, ensuring his legacy at the box office remains untouched for a long time.

In a stunning display of the power of word-of-mouth, the Gujarati film "Laalo - Krishna Sada Sahaayate" has emerged as one of the most remarkable cinematic success stories of the year. The movie was reportedly made on a very modest budget of approximately ₹ 50 lakh, overcame a nearly invisible start to become the highest-grossing Gujarati film of all time. Its journey, meticulously captured in its day-wise box office collections, is a case study in how content driven by faith and emotion can triumph at the box office. Released on October 10, 2025, the film's initial collections were incredibly modest. It earned a mere ₹ 0.02 Cr on its opening day and ended its first week with a meager ₹ 0.33 Cr. With such low numbers, the film was on the verge of being declared a washout. However, something miraculous began to happen in its third and fourth weeks. Take a look at Laalo - Krishna Sada Sahaayate Day-Wise Box Office Collection Day 1 [1st Friday]: ₹ 0.02 Cr Day 2 [1st Saturday]: ₹ 0.04 Cr Day 3 [1st Sunday]: ₹ 0.08 Cr Day 4 [1st Monday]: ₹ 0.04 Cr Day 5 [1st Tuesday]: ₹ 0.05 Cr Day 6 [1st Wednesday]: ₹ 0.05 Cr Day 7 [1st Thursday]: ₹ 0.05 Cr Week 1 Collection: ₹ 0.33 Cr Day 8 [2nd Friday]: ₹ 0.04 Cr Day 9 [2nd Saturday]: ₹ 0.04 Cr Day 10 [2nd Sunday]: ₹ 0.05 Cr Day 11 [2nd Monday]: ₹ 0.05 Cr Day 12 [2nd Tuesday]: ₹ 0.03 Cr Day 13 [2nd Wednesday]: ₹ 0.03 Cr Day 14 [2nd Thursday]: ₹ 0.03 Cr Week 2 Collection: ₹ 0.27 Cr Week 3 Collection: ₹ 0.62 Cr Week 4 Collection: ₹ 12.08 Cr Week 5 Collection: ₹ 25.7 Cr Day 36 [6th Friday]: ₹ 2.75 Cr Day 37 [6th Saturday]: ₹ 4.5 Cr Day 38 [6th Sunday]: ₹ 6.5 Cr Day 39 [6th Monday]: ₹ 2.5 Cr Day 40 [6th Tuesday]: ₹ 3 Cr Day 41 [6th Wednesday]: ₹ 2.65 Cr Total (41 Days): ₹ 60.9 Cr (estimated) As seen in the box office data, the film's collections began to climb dramatically. After earning just ₹ 0.62 Cr in its third week, the movie witnessed an astronomical jump of over 1800% to collect a staggering ₹ 12.08 Cr in its fourth week. This momentum continued into the fifth week, which saw collections of over ₹ 24 crore, defying all conventional box office trends. And its historic run is far from over; the film has already amassed an estimated ₹ 60.9 Cr in India Net collections and a worldwide gross of ₹ 72 Cr. This phenomenal success can be attributed to overwhelmingly positive audience reception, which translated into strong word-of-mouth that steadily built over weeks.Directed by Ankit Sakhiya, the film is a spiritual drama that revolves around a rickshaw driver named Laalo. Trapped in a remote farmhouse and burdened by a troubled past, Laalo begins to experience visions of Lord Krishna, who guides him on a transformative journey of self-discovery and redemption. The film's narrative, which blends human emotion with spiritual themes, has resonated deeply with family audiences. Given its minuscule budget of ₹ 50 lakh and a final India Net Collection of ₹ 60.9 Cr, "Laalo - Krishna Sada Sahaayate" is not just a hit, but making it one of the most profitable films in recent Indian cinema history. Its success has not only rewritten box office records in the Gujarati film industry but has also reaffirmed that a compelling story, rooted in cultural and spiritual values, can find a massive audience without the need for a mammoth budget or superstar cast. The verdict for "Laalo - Krishna Sada Sahaayate" is clear and historic: it is an All-Time Blockbuster in every sense of the term. Its journey from obscurity to the record books is one of the most inspiring and profitable stories in recent cinema history.

Mumbai, November 15 - Gujarati devotional drama Laalo: Krishna Sada Sahaayate has started the sixth weekend on a strong note, grossing more than the combined total of the first three weeks. The film grossed approximately 3.25 crores on its 36th day, which is an unbelievable collection for any film, let alone a regional title. Directed by Ankit Sakhiya, Laalo has crossed the 50 crores gross mark at the time of writing this piece on its 37th day. The day is heading for 4+ crores gross, which will take its total domestic gross to around 53.50+ crores, making it only the second Gujarati film of all-time to cross the figure after Chaal Jeevi Laiye. It is undoubtedly one of the biggest turnarounds in the history of Indian cinema. Stay tuned...

Laalo Krishna Sada Sahaayate Creates History With Massive 5th Weekend: Becomes Biggest Gujarati Grosser of 2025

BY SACNILK

Mumbai, November 10 - Gujarati devotional drama Laalo Krishna Sada Sahaayate is wreaking havoc at the domestic box office. The movie is behaving like a sleeping giant which suddenly woke and is having carnage with never-before-seen numbers for a Gujarati title. Directed by Ankit Sakhiya, Laalo had an unbelievable 5th Sunday with a gross collection of around 8.50 crores. A day before, it minted a record 5+ crores gross, which is the first time a Gujarati film hit the mark, as no Gujarati film had ever grossed even 4 crores in a single day until this. Laalo had one of the biggest 5th Sundays ever at the Indian box office, not just for a Gujarati title. It was the number 1 movie this weekend (5th weekend) with a gross collection of approximately 16.50 crores, pushing the total collection to 32+ crores gross in 31 days. With this, it has become the highest-grossing Gujarati film of the year, and one of the highest of all time. Due to the non-availability of data, it is difficult to determine which is the biggest Gujarati grosser, but as per the unofficial numbers, Chaal Jeevi Laiye (2019) is the number 1 film with over 40 crores gross. Laalo, with the kind of momentum it has, is set to cross the current record-holder and become the biggest Gollywood blockbuster ever. It is hard to predict where Laalo will end its box office run, but with momentum by its side, it should cross the 50 crores mark easily and might go on to top 75 crores, which is unthinkable for a Gujarati film. BY SACNILK

Mumbai, November 7 - The Indian box office witnessed an unprecedented turnaround this week after Gujarati devotional drama film Laalo - Krishna Sada Sahaayate, which turned into a sensation in its 4th weekend at the domestic box office. After scoring just around 35 lakh gross in the first week, followed by 30 lakh in the second week, and around 75 lakh in the third, the film's collection exploded in the 4th week to gross well over 10 crores. The unexpected growth came after the film was expanded to more screens across the state and beyond. (adsbygoogle = window.adsbygoogle || []).push({}) Laalo had a timid response initially, with hardly any movement in the collection. There were no signs of a potential breakout success as it failed to show any growth in the second week. It was reported that the makers showed the film in villages for free, which led to word of mouth spreading exponentially across the state. The Ankit Sakhiya's directorial grossed approximately 14.50 crores in its 4th week, jumping by over 4000% from the opening frame, which is something unheard of before. It had its biggest day on the 4th Wednesday (27th day) when it grossed approximately 3.25 crores, which is more than double the combined first three weeks' total. The total collection of the film is around 15.50 crores in 28 days. (adsbygoogle = window.adsbygoogle || []).push({}) As said, this is the second back-to-back blockbuster for Gujarati cinema, which otherwise has had a poor year so far. Vash Level 2 Box Office Day 1: Gujarati Horror Sequel Opens Well, Finds Audience in Hindi Too

BY SACNILK

Mumbai, August 27 - The sequel to the much-awaited Gujarati horror hit Vash has kicked off its theatrical run on a good note at the domestic box office with one of the strongest starts for a Gujarati title. The original film was a big hit, so there was genuine excitement for Vash Level 2, which was released simultaneously in its original Gujarati version and a dubbed Hindi version. The Hindi remake of Vash - Shaitaan did make a very good ground for the sequel to go wide with a Hindi dubbed version, and the opening didn't disappoint. On its first day, the film grossed an estimated 1.50-1.75 crore across India. Out of this, the Hindi dubbed version contributed an estimated 50-60 lakh, which is an impressive start for a regional film entering the national market. This is probably the best start ever for a Gollywood title in the dubbed version. Directed by Krishnadev Yagnik, Vash Level 2 carries forward the eerie atmosphere and supernatural elements that made its predecessor a cult favourite. With positive word of mouth and a wider release strategy, trade experts believe the film has the potential to grow further over the weekend. If it maintains momentum, Vash Level 2 could emerge as one of the biggest Gujarati films to find pan-India visibility, continuing the trend of regional cinema breaking barriers through dubbed releases.
