Hit 'Sooryavanshi' Final Worldwide Box Office Collection and Records
Mumbai, November 7 - The Bollywood industry was going through the darkest phase ever and had no clue about what was the way forward back in 2021 after the COVID-19 pandemic. When the hopes were dying down, maverick filmmaker Rohit Shetty with superstar Akshay Kumar dared to help the industry come out from this dark phase by releasing the long-awaited cop action drama Sooryavanshi on the occasion of Diwali 2021. ## Releasing "Sooryavanshi" at that time was a stunning dare move as cinemas were still not allowed to operate at full capacity and the audiences were still reluctant to visit theatres for fear of the COVID-19 virus. It was also the first major Bollywood movie to get released in theatres after the pandemic and the industry had pinned their hopes on its big times. ## There were clouds of doubt on things would go with the movie at the box office, also, there were glim hopes that the audience would embrace the much talked about new normal, and fortunately for the makers and the industry as a whole, the risk paid off as the movie emerged as first Bollywood success since January 2020 when the pandemic didn't even exist in India. ## The cinemas were operating at 50% occupancy yet "Sooryavanshi" did unthinkable keeping the ground reality in mind at that time. The film went on to score over 75+ crores net opening weekend collection and eventually became the first Bollywood movie to enter the 100 crores net club in the post-covid-era.## The movie continued to trend well after the first-week collection of over 120 crores net and went on to score close to 200 crores net lifetime collection.
