Box Office: Leo, Ganapath and Yaariyan 2 Opening Weekend Box Office Collection In Hindi

Mumbai, October 23 - It was a dull weekend for Bollywood after new releases died down without even putting a challenge. It has been a kind of year for the industry which has witnessed either highway or noway at the box office, and the just concluded weekend proved to be a latter one. ## Pooja Entertainment's ambitious sci-fi action drama Ganapath: A Hero Is Born, starring Tiger Shroff and Kriti Sanon, looked promising before the release and had some hope as far as the box office was concerned, but it completely rejected by the audiences once it hit the big screens. ## Directed by Vikas Bahl, "Ganapath" scored the lowest opening weekend ever for Tiger Shroff after it minted just approximately 7 crores net collection in 3 days. The movie got a poor reception from critics and the audiences, and that is where the fate of the movie was sealed. The movie is heading towards finishing below the 15 crores mark, becoming one of the biggest disasters for Tiger and Kriti, who debuted together in 2014 with the hit "Heropanti". ## The second movie of the weekend, Yaariyan 2, directed by Radhika Rao and Vinay Sapru, also failed to repeat the first movie's success and had a poor opening weekend with just approximately 1.50 crores net in the first 3-day weekend. The movie wasn't carrying much expectations given the current scenario but was still expected to be a worthy successor which couldn't happen. It will struggle to reach even a 5 crore lifetime collection which is very disappointing. ## While both Bollywood movies failed miserably, it was the dubbed version of Thalapathy Vijay's blockbuster "Leo", which dominated the Hindi box office. Directed by Lokesh Kanagaraj, the action drama comfortably beat the combined collection of "Ganapath" and "Yaariyan", and scored approximately 9.40 crores net collection over a 4-day extended opening weekend. ## "Leo" could have easily scored much more in Hindi had it been released in multiplexes which refused to screen it due to a short theatrical window. The makers didn't even promote the film in Hindi, still, it will end up being Thalapathy Vijay's biggest grosser in the dubbed Hindi version. ## Stay tuned...

Agnihotri will be adapting the best-selling novel Parva, written by Padma Bhushan Dr SL Bhyrappa, to bring the epic historical tale to the big screens.## The film will be made in 3-parts and it will be produced by Pallavi Joshi under the banner of I AM Buddha. Mumbai, December 23 - The Indian box office is continuing to see an upward trend in 2023, proving to be one of the best years for the film fraternity. Starting from Shah Rukh Khan's "Pathaan" in January to the latest blockbuster "Salaar" starring Thalapathy Vijay and "Dunki" starring Shah Rukh Khan, the domestic box office hasn't dipped though there have been many films that performed low in between. ## The box office in India is almost back to the pre-COVID level in 2023, which witnessed the highest days with the single-day collection. Mumbai, October 19 - The long-awaited sci-fi action thriller Ganapath - A Hero Is Born, starring Tiger Shroff in the titular role, is finally hitting big screens tomorrow, October 20. Directed by Vikas Bahl, the film also has Kriti Sanon as the female lead alongside Amitabh Bachchan in a key role. ## "Ganapath" has been censored "U/A" with the approved runtime of 2 hours and 15 minutes. The buzz for the movie hasn't been to the mark the makers would have hoped for and can clearly be seen in the advance booking. The pre-sales was opened a few days ago and the response has been low. ## As of 8 PM on October 19, "Ganapath" sold 55K tickets worth 1 crore gross and the final advance booking is expected to be around 1.50 crores, which is decent. Mumbai, October 14 - The Multiplex Association Of India (MAI) said in a statement that National Cinema Day 2023 attracted an estimated 6+ million (60+ lakh) footfalls at the Indian box office on October 13. The second NCD received a big thumbs-up from moviegoers on over 4000 screens nationwide. ## The National Cinema Day 2022 scored 6.5 million (65 lakh) footfalls and was a massive success after the COVID-19 pandemic. Last year, the ticket prices were kept as low as Rs. 75 for NCD while this year the prices were increased to Rs. 99 per ticket for this particular day.## The participating theatre chains on NCD 2023, included PVRINOX, Cinepolis, Miraj, Mukta A2, Movie Time, Wave, M2K, MovieMax, Rajhans, NY Cinemas, and Delite, among many others which offered movie ticket prices for Rs. 99 for the whole day and for any movie.## The biggest gainers on NCD 2023 were Shah Rukh Khan's mega-blockbuster "Jawan", Akshay Kumar's "Mission Raniganj", Excel Entertainment's comic caper "Fukrey 3", Telugu comedy "Mad", and Mammootty's "Kannur Squad", among others. Mumbai, October 14 - The National Cinema Day 2023 witnessed a very good response as a large number of audiences thronged to cinemas to watch the movies at a price as low as Rs. 99 per ticket. The major running films scored a big jump in footfalls as well as in collection. ## Bollywood particularly has a very good outing today as almost all the films scored a big jump, including the comic caper "Fukrey 3", Akshay Kumar's "Mission Raniganj", and Shah Rukh Khan's "Jawan". The combined collection of these three films scored an estimated 15+ crores net which is fantastic.## "Fukrey 3" has its 16th day at the box office today, and thanks to NCD, it scored a jump of over 400% for an estimated 5.25 crores net collection. This pushes to total collection to around 23.50 crores net in 8 days which is still a low total.## The action thriller "Jawan" has truly been a sensational blockbuster. All three films have combined sold over 5 lakh tickets for tomorrow and the numbers are increasing rapidly with each passing hour. ## Action thriller "Jawan" has already completed 5 weeks with a domestic gross collection of around 745 crores till now. The NCD 2023 will give the audiences a chance to watch this mega-blockbuster on the big screen at such low prices. The movie has sold over 3 lakh tickets for NCD.## Akshay Kumar's "Mission Raniganj" has a dismal show so far with a domestic gross collection of just 21.50 crores in 7 days. The advance booking for NCD, however, is excellent as it has sold around 3.25 lakh tickets which is excellent for a film performing low at the box office.## "Fukrey 3" is leading the advance booking with around 4 lakh tickets for NCD which is its 16th day.
