Los Angeles, March 27 - Director Adam Wingard's monster film Godzilla x Kong: The New Empire is projected to take the box office by storm in its opening weekend globally. The movie is riding on the mostly positive reviews from critics. ## Warner Bros./Legendary Pictures' sequel to Godzilla vs. Kong (2021), and the fifth film in the MonsterVerse franchise, Godzilla x Kong is projected to earn $135+ million at the worldwide box office in its opening weekend, according to Deadline. ## At the domestic (North America) box office, the highly-awaited sequel is expected to gross in the range of $50 million on opening weekend while the movie is projected to earn around $85 million internationally over 63 markets. Some projections are indicating a $100+ million international debut. ## Godzilla vs. Kong, which opened day and date on HBO Max in 2021, minted $48 million over the 5-day domestic opening weekend. The upcoming movie will be the third biggest opener for the Monsterverse (if current projection holds) after 2014's Godzilla ($93.1M) and 2017's Kong: Skull Island ($61M). ## The film stars Rebecca Hall, Brian Tyree Henry, Dan Stevens, Kaylee Hottle, Alex Ferns, and Fala Chen in key roles. In the film, Kong encounters more of his species in the Hollow Earth and must unite with Godzilla to stop their tyrannical leader and a powerful, climate-changing Titan from destroying the surface. ## Godzilla x Kong: The New Empire begins its international rollout this Wednesday. Marvel Studios' 'Shang-Chi' Sequel Greenlit To Begin Production In 2023: Report

Los Angeles, October 29 - Marvel Studios' recently released new superhero film, "Shang-Chi and The Legend of The Ten Rings" has been one of the biggest stories so far in Hollywood. The Simu Liu starrer not only became the biggest domestic blockbuster of 2021 but also opened the doors for its preceder in the coming future.## There were reports that the sequel of "Shang-Chi" is in the works at the Marvel Studios, and now, according to GWW, the sequel has been greenlit and is reportedly set to begin production in 2023. It is said that Marvel is keen on expanding the world of Shang-Chi, especially with the rumored Ten Rings spin-off in the works. ## Directed by Destin Daniel Cretton, "Shang-Chi" has ruled the domestic box office since its debut on September 3. With approx $220 million at the North American box office, "Shang-Chi" is the first Hollywood film so far to reach $200 million during the covid-19 pandemic. Worldwide, it is the seventh-highest-grossing film of 2021 with a gross collection of over $420 million. ## The movie stars Simu Liu as Shang-Chi alongside Awkwafina, Meng'er Zhang, Fala Chen, Florian Munteanu, Benedict Wong, Michelle Yeoh, Ben Kingsley, and Tony Leung. Box Office: 'Shang-Chi' Beats Pandemic To Become The First $200M Grosser At North America Box Office In Covid Era

Los Angeles, October 2 - Marvel Studios' "Shang-Chi and the Legend of the Ten Rings" has done what other Hollywood pics couldn't do in the last 18-months. The Simu Liu-fronted superhero flick has become the first Hollywood film to gross $200M at the domestic box office during the covid-19 pandemic era, a milestone, which is a big win for the theatrical experience. ## It took just 4-weeks for the newest addition in the MCU film to hit the milestone at the North American box office, which no one was expecting to achieve except the destiny in these devastating times. Directed by Destin Daniel Cretton, "Shang-Chi", however, got an exclusive theatrical release unlike other Disney movies which launched simultaneously on the big screen and Disney+ Premier Access during the pandemic. ## The big-budget tentpole was set for a big box office outing after it opened with an impressive $8.8 million on Thursday previews. However, since then it only got better and better and set a new Labor Day record by posting a four-day opening of $94.7 million, including $75.4 million for Friday-Sunday. ## "Shang-Chi" took the second-best weekend opening of 2021 behind fellow Marvel release "Black Widow" ($80.3 million). Later, it dethroned "Black Widow" to become the top grosser Hollywood movie at the domestic box office at $183.6 million, and now, it becomes the first $200 million film. ## "Shang-Chi's" impressive box office performance has been set up by positive reviews, strong word of mouth from audiences, and an A CinemaScore. The movie, which marks comic superhero Shang Chi in Marvel, will release with on September 3 in English, Hindi, Tamil, Telugu, and Kannada in 3D and IMAX. ## Shang-Chi and The Legend Of The Ten Rings is the first Asian superhero film. On Monday, the studio has unveiled the teaser trailer and the first look poster of its first Asian superhero film, "Shang-Chi And The Legend Of The Ten Rings". ## The teaser trailer of Shang-Chi was released on the birthday of Canadian actor Simu Liu, who plays the title role of superhero Shang-Chi, and the actor called it the best birthday ever.
