Box Office: 'Jigra' and 'Vicky Vidya Ka Woh Wala Video' Top 50 Crore Gross Worldwide

Mumbai, October 27 - The Dussehra weekend Bollywood releases, Alia Bhatt's Jigra and Rajkummar Rao and Tripti Dimri's Vicky Vidya Ka Woh Wala Video have underperformed at the box office, particularly the former which has credible names attached to it. ## It has been a struggling ride for the action thriller Jigra which has barely managed to go past 50 crores at the worldwide box office. Domestically, the movie is a big flop, grossing approximately 36.50 crores (30.35 crores net) in 16 days so far. ## At the overseas box office, Jigra has managed to mint an estimated 18 crores, for a worldwide cume of around 54.50 crores gross collection. This is Alia Bhatt's lowest-grossing film worldwide since Highway which minted approximately 52.50 crores gross in 2012. ## The comedy-drama Vicky Vidya Ka Woh Wala Video has performed decently so far. In India, it has performed much better than Jigra and has grossed approximately 46+ crores collection (39 crores net) in 16 days while overseas collection is an estimated 8.50 crores gross for the worldwide cume to 54.50 crores. ## Stay tuned...

Divya Khosla Kumar Attacks Alia Bhatt For Allegedly Faking Collection of 'Jigra'

Mumbai, October 12 - Actress Divya Khosla Kumar has called out Bollywood star Alia Bhatt for allegedly faking the collection of her latest movie Jigra. The former took to Instagram stories to point out alleged malpractice. ## In her Insta stories, Divya shared a photo of an empty theatre and claimed that all theatres are going empty for Jigra. The actress also alleged that Alia has bought tickets by herself and announced a fake collection of her movie, Jigra. ## "Went to Citi Mall PVR for Jigra show. Theatre was totally empty... all theatres going empty everywhere. #Aliabhatt me sach mein Bahut #Jigra hai.. khud hi tickets karide aur fake collections announce kar diye. Wonder why paid media is silent. #weshdnotfooltheaudience #truthoverlies #HappyDussehra Х (sic)", she wrote. ## While the exact reason behind Divya's allegations is not known yet, it has been reported that she had a feud with Alia recently. According to News18, Divya recently reacted to the similarities between her film Savi and Alia Bhatt's Jigra.## Savi, also starring Harshvardhan Rane and Anil Kapoor, is about a housewife trying to break her husband out of a high-security prison in England, inspired by the Savitri and Satyavan story. In Jigra, Alia Bhatt's character plans a jailbreak to rescue her brother from prison.## Meanwhile, Jigra earned approximately 4.50 crores net collection on its opening day. Box Office: 'Jigra' and 'Vicky Vidya Ka Woh Wala Video' Opening Day Early Estimates

Mumbai, October 11 - Bollywood star Alia Bhatt returns to the big screen with director Vasan Bala's action thriller Jigra since romantic comedy-drama Rocky Aur Rani Kii Prem Kahaani in July 2023.## Jigra generated decent hype after the trailer release, however, this couldn't turn into box office numbers as the opening of the film is below the mark. According to early estimates, the movie scored in the range of 4.25-4.50 crores on its opening day. ## The opening of Jigra is somehow on the projected lines due to the genre but the presence of Alia was anticipated to bring bigger opening day numbers which couldn't happen. The word of mouth for the movie is mixed and it needs to be seen how it fairs over the Dusshera weekend which is crucial. ## While Jigra fumbles to take a respectable start, Rajkummar Rao and Tripti Dimri's romantic comedy Vicky Vidya ka Woh Wala Video surprises with the bigger opening. The genre has more appeal than that of Jigra and this was clearly visible in the opening day footfalls. ## According to the early estimates, VVKVWV scored 5-5.50 crores net collection on its first day which is a decent to good start. Dharma Productions To Stop Pre-Release Media Screenings of Its Future Movies

Mumbai, October 7 - Filmmaker Karan Johar's Dharma Productions announced on Monday that it will stop pre-release screenings of its future movies. The studio, like many others, used to host media screenings a day or two before the release dates. ## Describing this decision as a crucial measure to preserve the excitement surrounding the movie-going experience, Dharma said in a statement shared with the media, "This decision has been difficult to make, however, we believe it's a necessary step in ensuring that every viewer, including our friends in the media, witness our stories as they were meant to be experienced".## "We believe it will help in maintaining the excitement of the cinematic experience for all", the statement reads. The studio, however, is not entirely stopping the media screening as it confirmed in the statement that going forward, the press screening of each movie will now be hosted in the first half of the release day. ## "We warmly welcome all media personnel to join us at these screenings, where you will be the first to witness our latest offerings. We value the relationship built with each one of you over the years and look forward to your continued cooperation", the statement adds.## Dharma's next movie is the action thriller Jigra, starring Alia Bhatt. Mumbai, June 13 - Bollywood star Alia Bhatt's highly-anticipated action thriller Jigra has been postponed to avert a clash with Telugu superstar Jr. NTR's Devara. Alia Bhatt's Film With Vasan Bala Gets Official Title and Release Date

Mumbai, September 26 - Bollywood's lady superstar Alia Bhatt has joined hands with "Mard Ko Dard Nahi Hota" director Vasan Bala for the first time. The movie is produced by Karan Johar's Dharma Productions with Alia's Eternal Sunshine Productions. ## On Tuesday (September 26), the makers officially announced the movie with the first look title motion poster. The movie, which is touted to be an action-thriller, has been titled Jigra. The motion poster begins with a quote by GK Chesterton flashing on the screen, which reads, "The paradox of courage is that one must be a little careless of life in order to keep it".## The motion poster shows Alia Bhatt with a bag on her shoulder as she is standing in the streets.
