Los Angeles, October 21 - Marvel Studios' Deadpool and Wolverine continues to climb higher and higher at the box office and with its blockbuster run coming to an end, the movie made a final push to beat last year's mega-blockbuster Barbie domestically (North America).## Deadpool & Wolverine grossed a solid $680K in its 13th weekend to push its total cume to $636.3 million at the domestic box office, officially beating Barbie's full run of $636.2 million. With this, it has become the 12th highest-grossing movie ever in North America.## As said, the movie is in its last leg of the theatrical run and will finish as the 12th biggest grosser in the home market. It needs another $16 million to beat Inside Out 2 ($653 million) to become the 11th biggest grosser which is unlikely in its original run. ## Deadpool 3 has grossed $699.4 million at the overseas box office for a worldwide cume of $1.335 billion. Disney's 'Moana 2' Box Office Projection Revealed

Los Angeles, October 19 - Disney's upcoming animated musical adventure film Moana 2 is gearing up to hit the big screens in November last week of 2024 and it is expected to make a big splash at the box office. ## According to Deadline, the sequel is tracking to earn $105 million - $115 million over its 5-day Wednesday to Sunday opening weekend, and $75 million - $82 million of that during its Friday-Sunday weekend at the domestic box office. Mumbai, October 18 - Marvel Studios and Sony Pictures high-awaited Venom: The Last Dance is set to hit the Indian theatres a day earlier than its domestic release. It is directed by Kelly Marcel and is the last film in the Venom franchise. ## Starring Tom Hardy in the title role, Venom 3 has been confirmed to be released on October 24 in English, Hindi, Telugu, and Tamil languages. Christopher Nolan Confirms His Next Film For 2026 Release

Los Angeles, October 9 - After the box office blockbuster Oppenheimer, maverick filmmaker Christopher Nolan has finalised his next film which will be funded by Universal Pictures.## According to Deadline, Nolan's next will be headlined by Matt Damon and this will mark his third movie with the blockbuster filmmaker after Interstellar (2014) and Oppenheimer (2023). Los Angeles, October 7 - Warner Bros. Pictures' high-profile sequel Joker: Folie à Deux bombed at the domestic (North America) box office with a shocking $40 million opening weekend. This is less than half of what the first movie grossed in the first weekend ($96 million) in 2019. ## Directed by Todd Phillips, Joker 2 is having terrible reviews all around from critics as well as audiences. It is the first comic book movie in history to score 'D' CinemaScore while Rotten Tomatoes score is also around just 30% for both, critics and audiences. ## While the domestic opening of the film is a disaster with a rebound unlikely, Joker 2 has a respectable overseas start in the projected range. At the international box office, the Joaquin Phoenix/Lady Gaga-starrer grossed $81 million from 70 markets in the 6-day opening weekend. ## The UK was the biggest international market for the sequel with an $8 million debut, followed by Germany ($6.9 million), Italy ($5.6 million), Mexico ($5.5 million) and France ($5 million). According to Deadline, the blockbuster sequel is projected to open with $70 million - $80 million in its domestic (North America) opening weekend. ## If Joker 2 opens to the projected lines, it would be $26 million less than Joker which scored $96.2 million in the domestic weekend, as per Box Office Mojo. A couple of weeks ago, the movie was projected to open with $100+ million, which is now looking difficult, per the latest projection. ## Joker 2 currently has a 62% critic score on Rotten Tomatoes, which, interestingly, is similar to the original movie after its Venice and TIFF premiere. Disney's 'Frozen 3' Sets A Release Date

Mumbai, August 14 - Disney's animated blockbuster Frozen III will make its big screen debut in November 2027. ## Walt Disney Animation's chief creative officer Jennifer Lee announced on Wednesday at D23 that the third installment of the musical fantasy franchise will be released on November 24, 2027, according to the report by The Hollywood Reporter.## Frozen 3 was originally scheduled for a 2026 release but the production is getting delayed due to various reasons which made Disney push the film to the Thanksgiving weekend in 2027. Apart from setting the release date of Frozen 3, Jennifer Lee previously confirmed that the fourth movie in the series is also in development.## Frozen has been a money-making franchise for Disney as both the previous films grossed over $1 billion each at the worldwide box office. The first Frozen movie, released in 2013, made $1.29 billion and is currently the 4th biggest animated grosser of all time.## The sequel, Frozen 2 was released in 2019 and bettered its predecessor at the box office by grossing over $1.45 billion globally. Marvel Studios Scrapped Plans For 'Eternals 2'

Mumbai, August 14 - Marvel Studios has reportedly scrapped plans to develop Eternals 2 after the first movie didn't do well at the box office. The movie was directed by Chloé Zhao and introduced new superheroes in the Marvel Cinematic Universe.## While the ending (hailed as one of the best in the MCU) of Eternals suggested the character would return in the sequel, Marvel boss Kevin Feige recently said that there are no immediate plans to make Eternals 2 and now, as per Variety, the studio has dropped plans to develop it.## The news of scrapping Eternals 2 comes from Variety reporting on actor Kit Harington discussing his MCU role. The post-credit scene of Eternals was supposed to set up Kit Harington to appear in Blade along with Mahershala Ali, however, Blade has been delayed multiple times and is presently getting retooled.## Eternals was the 26th film in the Marvel Cinematic Universe (MCU) and it starred an ensemble cast including Gemma Chan, Richard Madden, Kumail Nanjiani, Lia McHugh, Brian Tyree Henry, Lauren Ridloff, Barry Keoghan, Don Lee, Kit Harington, Salma Hayek, and Angelina Jolie. ## The film met with disappointing critics reviews and above-average audience score. Mumbai, August 12 - Bollywood superstar Shah Rukh Khan has returned to reprise his voice role as Mufasa in Disney's upcoming blockbuster Mufasa: The Lion King, a photorealistic animated, and both a prequel and sequel to the 2019 remake of the 1994 film The Lion King.## Apart from Shah Rukh Khan, his eldest son Aryan Khan is also back to reprise the voice role of Simba while the youngest Khan, AbRam, will make his voice-acting debut as young Mufasa in the Hindi dubbed version. ## The movie is directed by Barry Jenkins, Mufasa: The Lion King story follows the orphan Mufasa, who is befriended by the young prince Taka and adopted by Taka's family; the pair become as close as brothers. In North America, the movie has minted $494.3 million (4150 crores) while the overseas collection is $535.2 million (4495 crores) over 52 markets.## Notably, Deadpool & Wolverine is only the second movie of 2024 after Inside Out 2 to top $1 billion globally. IO2 is currently the biggest grosser with $1.59 billion as the 10th highest-grossing movie of all time, behind The Lion King ($1.65 billion).## Deadpool 3 has broken into the top 50 movies ever and is currently the 48th highest-grossing title. James Cameron's 'Avatar 3' Gets An Official Title and Release Date

Mumbai, August 10 - Maverick filmmaker James Cameron's sci-fi epic Avatar 3 has unveiled its official title on Friday during the D23 expo. The first two movies in the franchise have already been etched in the history books with monstrous box office performances.## During the D23 event, James Cameron along with stars Zoe Saldaña and Sam Worthington revealed that the third Avatar blockbuster will be titled Avatar: Fire and Ash, setting the stage for the things unfold in Pandora. ## "You'll see a lot more pandora that you never saw before. It's an insane adventure and a feast for the eyes, but it's also got very high emotional stakes, more than ever before. We're going into really challenging territory for all the characters you know and love", Cameron said (via Variety).## It is to be noted that James Cameron shot most of the portions of Avatar: Fire and Ash with Avatar: The Way of Water (Avatar 2), which depicts the war between humanity and the Na'vi after the rapacious Resources Development Administration (RDA) returns to the alien moon of Pandora.## Fire and Ash will follow the immediate events of Avatar 2, and at the D23 event, Cameron showcased some concept art from the movie, which reportedly was enough to excite the audience present there. The upcoming movie is believed to be more violent than the first two movies, and there will be new characters. ## The first Avatar movie was released in 2009 and remains the highest-grossing movie of all time with $2.92 billion. Its sequel, The Way of Water, took 13 years to come to life but there was no drop in the excitement as it is the third highest-grosser ever with $2.23 billion.
