Chennai, June 26 - Superstar Rajinikanth's highly anticipated action drama Coolie, directed by Lokesh Kanagaraj, seems to have an uphill task in front of it. The film might need to emerge as the second biggest grosser for the veteran actor, just to become a box office success. ## Coolie is carrying huge expectations of delivering at the box office. The movie is being eyed as the one which has the potential to become the first Tamil movie to enter the 1000 crores club, and hence, it is getting crazy offers for theatrical distribution across the globe. ## Recently, it was revealed that the overseas business of Coolie was locked in the range of 80-85 crores, which is a record for a Tamil title. For Telugu states, the makers have reportedly been offered a huge price of around 45 crores, which is said to be the highest for a dubbed title in recent times. ## The theatrical business of the film for the home market, Tamil Nadu, is expected to be locked in the range of 110 crores, which is again a record. Chennai, March 18 - One of the biggest films of the year, superstar Rajinikanth's action drama Coolie has completed the entire shoot, the makers announced on Monday (March 17) with a short video glimpse from the sets.## Directed by Lokesh Kanagraj, Coolie was shot in multiple locations over a period of 8 months. It kicked off in mid-July 2024 and wrapped up in mid-March 2025. The filmmaker maintained his efficacy in completing his film shoots in a planned manner without causing delays. ## As the filming is done, the real question now is when the film will hit the big screens. It was originally planned for a May 2025 release but it has been postponed from there. Actor Vikrant Massey is all set to lead the Hindi remake of the Malayalam crime thriller film, Forensic. Vikrant will be essaying the role of a meticulous forensic officer in the film.
