Box Office: 'Pushpa 2 - The Rule' Opening Day Early Estimates
Mumbai, December 5 - It's red letter day for the Indian cinema which is seeing history being re-written at the box office, courtesy of the most hyped movie in recent times, Pushpa 2 - The Rule starring superstar Allu Arjun and director by Sukumar. ## After the record-breaking night previews on December 4, the action drama set the box office on fire on its opening day and created history by taking the biggest opening ever in India, beating the record of SS Rajamouli's RRR by a good margin. ## The film is flirting with the biggest opening ever in Hindi which is with Shah Rukh Khan's Jawan (65.50 crores net). According to the early estimates, Pushpa 2 has scored around 65 crores net and the opening can be higher than Jawan depending on the single screen numbers which will be known by tomorrow. ## In Telugu states, the blockbuster is estimated to gross in the range of 85+ crores on its first day and including previews (December 4), the opening is estimated to be around 100 crores gross in AP/TG, making it only the second movie after RRR to score 100+ crore opening in this region (per estimates). ## In Karnataka, Pushpa 2 is expected to gross in the range of 15 crores, followed by 9-10 crores gross in Tamil Nadu and 6-7 crores gross in Kerala. Overall, the film has grossed an estimated 195+ crores (160+ crores net), and including previews, the opening of the film is around 205+ crores gross (estimates), making it the first film ever to cross 200 crores gross opening day in India. ## This historic opening has come on a non-holiday and on a proper working day which makes it even more special. The initial word of mouth seems to be positive, so the opening weekend numbers will be extraordinary which is hard to predict at this point. ## Stay tuned...
