Thalapathy Vijay's 'Ghilli' Re-Release Scored Strong Hold On The Second Day
Chennai, April 22 - Thalapathy Vijay's sports action drama film Ghilli was re-released on April 20 worldwide and scored the biggest-ever opening for a South Indian movie upon the re-release with a gross collection of approximately 7.75 crores, including 4.75 crores in India. ## The opening of the film proved Vijay's mega pull at the box office which also provided some relief to the Tamil Nadu theatres which are having a dry spell this year. On its second day, the movie scored rock rock-solid hold at the Indian box office. ## Ghilli grossed around 3.75 crores in India on the second day, which is bigger than the opening day of most of the re-release films. The total domestic collection of the movie stands at around 8.50 crores gross in 2 days which is sensational. Worldwide, the movie has crossed the double-digit mark at around 12 crores gross. ## Ghilli is a remake of the Telugu-language 2003 film Okkadu which itself was a big hit at the box office. Released in 2004, Ghilli grossed over 40 crores worldwide (as per Wikipedia) against a budget of around 8 crores in its original run and was one of the biggest Indian hits of that year. ## Stay tuned...
