Gadar 2 Is Set To Go Berserk At The Box Office On Friday

Mumbai, August 10 - The hype for Gadar 2 is high and it can be seen in the advance booking of the film which is outstanding with the main day to follow. The advance is competing against the biggest advances of Hindi films post-pandemic like Pathaan and Brahmastra. In smaller centers, it is bound to be the biggest advanced film ever beating KGF Chapter 2.## Gadar 2 is a sequel to the all-time blockbuster Gadar: Ek Prem Katha which was released in 2001 and belongs to the league of Sholay, Mughal-e-Azam, Mother India, and Hum Aapke Hain Koun as to the greatest box office blockbusters of all time and it is still the biggest hit of this century, bigger than the likes of Bajrangi Bhaijaan, Dangal, and 3 Idiots. ## The original movie had an opponent in 2001 in the form of Lagaan and even its sequel Gadar2 is having an opponent in the form of OMG2 which is again a sequel of a superhit OMG back in 2012 but OMG2 holds less appeal compared to OMG due to the subject of the film. It will be again a one-horse race like 2001 where Gadar smashed all records by leads and bounds. At the end of the day, it was a bad decision from the makers of OMG2 to go up against something as legendary as Gadar at the box office despite the restricted appeal of OMG2.## The projection of Gadar 2 opening currently is looking around 35cr net which will be an extraordinary opening but a higher number cannot be ruled out too the way the film is generating the hype. If the film manages to touch around the 40cr net box office mark then it will become the highest opening day footfall film beating Pathaan which was hugely helped by the enhanced ticket rates in the premium multiplexes. The advance in standalone multiplexes are comparable to Pathaan and in single screens, it will be bigger than any film to date. ## The Bumper opening will give a chance to Gadar2 to score the blockbuster 300cr net figure at the box office but that will depend on the public appreciation of the film. Producer Reema Kagti Clears The Air On The Rumours of Casting Changes For Farhan Akhtar's Directorial 'Jee Le Zaraa'

Mumbai, August 10 - In August 2021, Farhan Akhtar announced his directorial comeback after 10 years with an all-female-led road trip movie "Jee Le Zaraa", featuring Priyanka Chopra, Alia Bhatt, and Katrina Kaif. ## The shoot of the movie was supposed to commence in 2022 but got delayed as the leading trio was busy with their already-committed projects. Earlier in the year, Farhan Akhtar delighted fans by sharing pictures of him scouting for locations to shoot the movie. ## However, just when things were looking on track, rumors started making rounds on social media regarding the film's lead cast, after it was reported that Priyanka walked out of the project due to date issues. OMG 2 Advance Booking Status and Opening Day Box Office Expectations

Mumbai, August 9 - Bollywood superstar Akshay Kumar is coming to the big screen with the sequel to his superhit movie "OMG" (2012), also starring Pankaj Tripathi and Yami Gautam. Directed by Amit Rai, "OMG 2" has been in the news for the last few days regarding its censorship which has been the talk of the talk.## "OMG 2" deals with a very sensitive issue of sex education and the religious angle in it has kept the censor board busy. After closely reviving the movie, "OMG 2" managed to get done with censorship formalities with some changes and has been censored with an "A" certificate (adult only) with the approved run-time of 2 hours 36 minutes. ## The movie is expected to release on over 1500 screens nationwide, mainly due to the hugely hyped "Gadar 2" which is releasing on the same day (August 11). The "Gadar 2" juggernaut is clearly affecting the advance booking of the Akshay Kumar-starrer, which, however, still manages to put up decent pre-sales.## Even though the hype of OMG 2 gets reduced due to Gadar 2, the pre-booking of the movie is much better than Akshay Kumar's last release "Selfiee". As of 5 AM on August 11, "OMG 2" has sold approx. 113K tickets worth 3.3 crores gross for the opening day. In three national chains (PVR, INOX, and Cinepolis), the film has sold approx. 70K tickets. ## The final pre-sales of the movie is expected to finish over 100K tickets overall, including around 70K tickets in PIC. It will mainly target multiple audiences and has less scope to score in smaller centres due to "Gadar 2". ## The advance booking trend of OMG 2 indicates the opening of at least 8 crores net and has a good shot at hitting the double-digit mark if the talks are positive. If it opens in the expected lines, it will be a decent start considering the scenario around it. The positive word of mouth could significantly boost its chances over the Independence Day week. ## The movie is the sequel to a hugely successful film, be it critically or commercially and this is one of the biggest pluses it is currently having. It is directed by Radhika Rao and Vinay Sapru, known for directing "Sanam Teri Kasam".## On Wednesday (August 9), the makers took to social media to release the first-look poster, featuring Divya Khosla Kumar, Meezaan Jafri, and Pearl V Puri. It emerged as a box office success and went on to earn a cult status over the years. ## In 2023, "Koi... Mil Gaya" completes 20 years of its release, and to celebrate the occasion, the makers teamed up with PVR Inox to re-release the film on August 4 across 30 cities. The magic of the movie remained intact as it recorded housefull shows at some centers. ## The limited re-release of "Koi Mil Gaya" scored approx. 20 lakh gross in its opening weekend with a total of approx. 225 shows. On its opening day of re-release, "Koi Mil Gaya" grossed approx. 3.50 lakh, followed by approx. 6 lakh on Saturday, and approx. 10 lakh on Sunday. ## Earlier this year in June, Sunny Deol's Gadar: Ek Prem Katha was also re-released and grossed solid 1.30 crores in the opening weekend. However, that was a much bigger release than "Koi Mil Gaya", and considering that, the latter has done well on the weekend.## In its original run in 2003, "Koi Mil Gaya" had grossed approx. 80 crores at the worldwide box office, including approx. 10 crores overseas collection. Mumbai, August 6 - Rocky Aur Rani Ki Prem Kahani hits 100 crores domestic net after impressive second-weekend hold. The second-weekend drop of the movie is just around 30% from the opening weekend, which is one of the strongest holds for an Indian movie in recent times.## Rocky Aur Rani Kii Prem Kahaani had a huge jump of around 70% on its second Saturday, and today, on its second Sunday, the movie witnessed a further solid jump of around 15% for an estimated approx. 13.50 crores net collection. The second weekend total is over 31 crores net which is fantastic.## The total collection of the movie reached approx. 105 crores net in 10 days. The excellent second-weekend hold is a very encouraging sign for the movie as far as the lifetime collection is concerned. The film is showing an excellent jump today and this has confirmed that it will cross 100 crores net by the second Sunday. ## Rocky Aur Rani Ki Prem Kahani had a very good start to the second weekend and it is one of the rare mainstream Bollywood movies to score a jump on the 2nd Friday. Today, on the second Saturday, the movie is seeing an explosive jump of over 70%, and the collection can go as high as 85% which is excellent.## The early estimates for the second Saturday suggest the collection in the range of 11.50-12.50 crores net. Mumbai, August 4 - After a good first week, Karan Johar's Rocky Aur Rani Ki Prem Kahani starts the second weekend on a strong note, scoring a jump over the first Thursday collection. The jump over yesterday's collection is at least 10% and can go upto 15% which is fantastic.## The early estimate suggests 6.75-7.25 crores net on the second Friday of Rocky Aur Rani Kii Prem Kahaani. This takes the total collection to around 80 crores and now, the movie has a real shot at crossing 100 crores net by the end of the second weekend itself.## The second Friday jump is more because the ticket prices have been increased to the opening weekend level after they were reduced during the weekdays. RRKPK will see further jump tomorrow and may hit the double-digit mark before another jump on Sunday. The second weekend is looking at least 27 crores net and can go towards 30 crores or more. ## RRKPK will cross 100 crores domestic gross tomorrow while it has crossed 150 crores gross worldwide with today's collection. Mumbai, August 2 - The Independence Day 2023 week is expected to be a big money spinner at the Indian box office with multiple tentpole movies lined up for release across different languages. There is Rajinikanth's much-awaited Tamil blockbuster "Jailer" as well as Chiranjeevi's Telugu movie "Bhola Shankar", and two of the highly-awaited Bollywood biggies, Akshay Kumar's "OMG 2" and Sunny Deol-fronted "Gadar 2". ## "Gadar 2: The Katha Continues", which is the sequel to the all-time blockbuster "Gadar: Ek Prem Katha" (2001) has been one of the most anticipated Bollywood movies ever since it was announced. As the release date is getting nearer, the anticipation for the movie is going up with each passing day, especially, after the teaser and trailer launch.## Directed by Anil Sharma, "Gadar 2" is expected to release on over 3500 screens nationwide and advances were opened nearly two weeks before the release.
