Katrina Kaif and Vijay Sethupathi's 'Merry Christmas' Gets First Look Poster and A New Release Date

Mumbai, July 17 - Director Sriram Raghavan's long-awaited drama thriller movie "Merry Christmas" starring Katrina Kaif and Vijay Sethupathi gets a new release date in theaters. This is the first time Katrina and Vijay are coming together on the silver screen. ## On Monday (July 17), the makers shared the first-look posters which have piqued audiences' interest. The cool-looking posters give the major vintage vibes with an intriguing tagline on the poster reads, "Raat jitni sageen hogi, subah utni rageen hogi".## The movie has been confirmed to release on December 15 this year, clashing with Sidharth Malhotra's "Yodha". It will release a week before Shah Rukh Khan and Rajkumar Hirani's "Dunki" and two weeks after Ranbir Kapoor and Sandeep Reddy Vanga's "Animal". There are a few more films scheduled to release in December, including Vicky Kaushal's "Sam Bahadur" (Dec. 1) and Shahid Kapoor and Kriti Sanon's untitled rom-com on Dec. 8. ## "Merry Christmas" is shot in Hindi and Tamil languages with different supporting actors. The actor previously confirmed the third installment of the courtroom comedy drama "Jolly LLB" with Akshay and now, he has confirmed "Weclome 3" as well. ## "Welcome 3" has been in the news for a long time and the makers themselves confirmed that the development on the same. Written and directed by Anup Thapa, the film is based on the true event of the Somnath invasion of Mahmud Ghazni. ## "The Battle Story of Somnath" is a multilingual project which will be released in twelve major Indian languages including Hindi, Tamil, Telugu, Kannada, Malayalam, and Marathi. Filmmaker Rohit Shetty Opens Up On The Box Office Failure Of Ranveer Singh-Fronted 'Cirkus'

Mumbai, July 15 - Filmmaker Rohit Shetty takes the blame on himself for the box office failure of the comedy caper "Cirkus" starring Ranveer Singh in a double role. Released in December last year, the movie failed miserably to gross just around 60 crores, becoming the lowest-grossing film of Shetty since "All The Best" (2009) at the worldwide box office. ## During a recent interview with India Today, the maverick filmmaker said that every success and failure of his movies belongs to him. "I make sure to surround myself with people who are honest with me. So, when a film doesn't do well, I know it. Hence, I have always believed that both my successes and failures are mine. There is no point shying away from it", he said.## "When a 'Singham' or a 'Golmaal' did well, that was also mine, so when a 'Zameen' (2003), a 'Dilwale' or a 'Cirkus' failed, that was also mine. I don't see a point in blaming anything else", Shetty added.## The "Singham" director further said that "Cirkus" was made during the pandemic for the workers so that they can earn their livelihood. Shetty's next theatrical release is the highly-anticipated third installment of the "Singham" franchise starring Ajay Devgn which is due to start filming next month and be released during Independence Day weekend 2024.## Shetty promises to make a solid comeback with "Singham Again". "The same audience made 'Sooryanshi' a blockbuster despite a 50% occupancy, and if it didn't work for 'Cirkus', I must take ownership of failures as well. Mumbai, July 10 - The wait finally ends and the Bollywood superstar Shah Rukh Khan is there to fight the wrongs in society in the first look teaser/trailer of the highly-anticipated action thriller film Jawan" directed by Atlee Kumar. ## The 2-minute and 12 seconds promo gives the first look at Shah Rukh Khan's different looks as well as the first look at Nayanthara, Vijay Sethupathi, Sanya Malhotra, Priyamani, and Deepika Padukone (cameo). Nayanthara and Deepika can also be seen involved in the fight scenes. The action-heavy promo, however, doesn't reveal what are the wrongs the actor and his girl gang are fighting. The promo ends with a funny train scene in which SRK is having a funny dance to an old song while the passengers shaking. ## Overall, the teaser lives up to the high expectations as it promises a complete mass entertainer SRK has never done before. Box Office: 'Satyaprem Ki Katha' Scores A Big Jump On Its Second Saturday

Mumbai, July 9 - Kartik Aaryan and Kiara Advani's musical romantic drama film "Satyaprem Ki Katha" is heading for a healthy lifetime collection at the domestic box office. Despite being not a mass-friendly film, it has done well in the first week to enter the second weekend with a bang. ## After dropping just 5% on its second Friday for 2.85 crores net, the Sameer Vidhwans-directed flick scored a big jump of 66.67% on its second Saturday to collect 4.75 crores net. This takes the total net collection to 60.81 crores in 10 days. It is expected to score a further jump today and is likely to bring in 5.50 crores for the second-weekend collection of around 13 crores. ## SPK also has done decently at the overseas box office to score approx. 13 crores net (estimated). The worldwide collection of the movie currently stands at around 85 crores gross and it will soon enter the 100-crore gross club globally. ## The Sajid Nadiadwala production has been able to attract its target multiplex audiences, especially the youth which is loving this romantic saga.
