Mumbai, May 6 - Marvel movies are having a great time at the Indian box office as after "Spider-Man: No Way Home", the latest superhero movie "Doctor Strange In The Multiverse of The Madness" looks to go really big. Directed by Sam Raimi, the sequel to the 2016 movie debuts on over 2500 screens in India across languages and scored an impressive 28-29 crores net (36-37cr gross) on the first day for all languages, as per early estimates. The opening of "Doctor Strange 2" is lower than "No Way Home" which scored 32.67 crores from 3250+ screens. "No Way Home" has had the widest ever Hollywood movie release in India. The original English version of "Doctor Strange 2" was the best performing on the opening day followed by Hindi. The movie is expected to grow over the weekend with strong word of mouth pouring in for the movie. Mumbai, May 6 - The summer box office madness begins with Marvel Studios' "Doctor Strange in the Multiverse of Madness". Ahead of its domestic (North American) launch today (May 6), "Doctor Strange 2" was kicked off with a strong $27 million opening from 20 international markets. ## The opening day gross box office collection of Sam Raimi-directed in international markets was only 4 percent behind the recent release "Spider-Man: No Way Home" and 210 percent ahead of DC's "The Batman". Mumbai, May 5 - Marvel Studios/Sony Pictures' "Spider-Man: No Way Home" was one of the first films to bring the Indian box office on its strong feet with big box office numbers in December last year. And now, another Marvel movie with Disney, "Doctor Strange: In The Multiverse Of Madness" is ready to roar in India. ## Directed by Sam Raimi, "Doctor Strange 2" has been one of the most-awaited non-Indian movies and the advance booking for the same was opened nearly a month before its release on May 6 in multiple languages. As expected, the superhero movie is getting a phenomenal response in the advance sales as it has already reached 28 crores gross. ## The original English version of the movie is leading the advance sales with approx. 19.70 crores gross, including all formats, followed by the Hindi version with approx. 7 crores gross. Mumbai, May 4 - Marvel Studios' upcoming superhero series on Disney+, "Ms. Marvel" is getting special treatment as it will be released in theaters in Pakistan. The announcement of the theatrical release of the series was made on the occasion of Eid by one of the directors Sharmeen Obaid-Chinoy via Instagram. ## While Disney+ series are usually held for the streaming platform, "Ms. Marvel" is getting special treatment to celebrate the introduction of the first Pakistani Marvel superhero, Kamala Khan (played by Iman Vellani), into the Marvel Cinematic Universe. Los Angeles, May 3 - Amber Heard's domestic violence allegations against ex-husband Johnny Depp have taken a huge toll on his career which is in doldrum since 2018. ## Depp's agent has now revealed that Depp was set to get a whopping $22.5 million to star in Disney's "Pirates of the Caribbean 6", but Disney dropped him from the movie after Amber Heard published an op-ed reviving her domestic abuse allegations, as per Variety.## Jack Whigham, who represented Depp at Creative Artists Agency and later at Range Media Partners, testified that the December 2018 piece in the Washington Post had a "catastrophic" impact on Depp's career. "After the op-ed, it was impossible to get him a studio film", Whigham testified.## Whigham also said that Depp had earned $8 million for "City of Lies", $10 million for "Murder on the Orient Express" and $13.5 million for "Fantastic Beasts: The Crimes of Grindelwald" - all of which were shot in 2017. Earlier, he didn't release the Aamir Khan-starrer PK (2014) when distributors of PK had asked him to charge Rs. 150 and Rs. 250 from the public. Director Sam Raimi Reveals The Main Goal Behind The Reshoots Of 'Doctor Strange 2'

Mumbai, May 1 - Marvel Studios' "Doctor Strange in the Multiverse of Madness" is finally releasing in theaters worldwide next week. However, it hasn't been easy for Marvel to work on this highly anticipated sequel to 2016's movie as it went through a lot of delays and changes for various reasons. ## "Doctor Strange 2" might have been released a little earlier if it had not gone through reshoots late last year. At that time, it was unknown to everyone why Marvel was asking for the film's reshoots, however, director Sam Raimi recently revealed the main goals for the reshoots in an interview. ## "There's a lot of points where the audience says - I don't understand this. I don't understand this concept. Or, I'm aware of this concept, and then you explained it again in the third act, Oh, you're right, the audience knows that already. Or 'They had to know that in order to accept this next story beat. A lot of it is test screenings, learning what is confusing on a complex picture like this, or learning things that have overstayed their welcome", Raimi told Rolling Stone (via comic book).## "Recognizing when something is too slow, and even though it's a proper beat to put in, the audience doesn't need it.
