Box Office: 'Satyaprem Ki Katha' and 'Carry On Jatta 3' First Sunday/4th Day Early Estimates
Mumbai, July 2 - Sajid Nadiadwala's musical romantic film "Satyaprem Ki Katha", starring Kartik Aaryan and Kiara Advani, scores a good 4-day opening weekend at the domestic box office after recording back-to-back double-digit scores. ## On its first Sunday/4th day, SPK is seeing a jump of around 15%-20% for an estimated 11.50-12 crores net collection. The movie has a shot at hitting 12 crores net which remains to see. The first Sunday estimate collection takes the total to over 38 crores net which is a good result. ## SPK, being a multiplex-friendly title, has performed in the expected lines in its extended opening weekend. The film's word of mouth is on the positive side which should help it to get going during the crucial weekdays. Just like all the mid-budget films, the first Monday hold is going to be crucial for SPK for its longevity. The good thing is, SPK has no real threat till Karan Johar's "Rocky Aur Rani Ki Prem Kahani" which arrives on July 28. ## Meanwhile, the Punjabi blockbuster "Carry On Jatta 3" continues to re-write history at the box office after scoring another massive day domestically. The third installment of the comedy franchise clocks the 4-day opening weekend of over 19 crores net after scoring an estimated 6 crores net on its first Sunday. ## The first Sunday/4th-day collection of COJ3 is more than double the first-day collection of the previous biggest Punjabi opener "Shadaa" (2.72 Cr) which is exceptional, to say the least. The worldwide collection of the movie is also nearing the 50 crores mark after the opening weekend, and it will soon become the highest-grossing Punjabi movie of all time. ## Stay tuned...
