Adipurush Sells Over 1 Million Tickets In Advance For The Opening Day

Mumbai, June 15 - One of the most anticipated Indian films of the year, Adipurush is finally hitting big screens tomorrow in multiple languages. The movie, based on the epic Ramayana, is directed by Om Raut and stars Prabhas as Lord Rama, Kriti Sanon as Sita, and Saif Ali Khan as Raavan, among others in key roles. ## "Adipurush" is the major attempt to adapt Ramayana and it seems that the Indians are eager to experience this epic on the big screen which is clearly visible in the pre-booking. The advance booking of the movie was opened on Sunday (June 11) and since then, the response to pre-sales has been exceptional. ## The movie has sold over 1 million tickets in advance for all versions, and becomes the second Indian movie of the year to score this much sales after "Pathaan". The advance tickets sold are around 1.2 million (not counting block seats), which is the highest this year. ## The Hindi version of the movie has sold around 500K, which is short of "Brahmastra: Part 1" (600K tickets). The Telugu version has sold around 700K advance tickets and the other versions have seen low advance booking. ## "Adipurush" is expected to score 100-110 crores gross domestic opening in all versions which will be the highest this year and third biggest post the covid-19 pandemic for an India title. All-Time Blockbuster 'The Kerala Story' Crosses 300 Crores At The Worldwide Box Office

Mumbai, June 14 - Director Sudipto Sen's drama film The Kerala Story is nearing its end at the box office but it has done more than what was asked for. The movie has emerged as one of the biggest blockbusters of all time with its phenomenal collection. ## Starring Adah Sharma, "The Kerala Story" has crossed the 300 crores mark at the global box office, and becomes only the 2nd Bollywood movie of the year to do so. It has so far grossed approx. 302 crores, including approx. 15.50 crores overseas box office in 49 days. ## At the domestic box office, TKS grossed around 286.50 crores (including 3 crores of Telugu version) to date, which is the second biggest for a Bollywood movie this year after Shah Rukh Khan's "Pathaan". Post the covid-19 pandemic, TKS is 5th Bollywood film to breach the 300 crores mark at the worldwide box office. ## Produced by Vipul Amrutlal Shah of Sunshine Pictures, TKS is made on a budget of just 15-20 crores and it is one of the rarest Indian movies ever to gross over 300 crores with such low budget. Box Office: 'Adipurush' To Emerge The Biggest Opener For An Indian Movie of 2023

Mumbai, June 15 - The stage is set for superstar Prabhas-fronted magnum opus Adipurush which releases this Friday (June 16) in multiple languages. The Om Raut's directorial has been one of the most anticipated Indian movies and it is expected to emerge as one of the biggest hits of the year. ## The advance booking of the film was opened on Sunday (June 11) in Hindi while the Telugu booking started yesterday (June 14). The response to the pre-booking has been excellent so far, especially in the Telugu version which is witnessing houseful shows across Telugu states.## As reported earlier, "Adipurush" is all set to emerge as the biggest Indian opener of the year, beating Shah Rukh Khan's "Pathaan" which scored 67 crores gross collection in all languages in January. "Adipurush" is expecting 100-110 crores gross at the domestic box office in all versions. ## The Telugu version of the movie is projected to score around 55-65 crore gross while the Hindi version, which will be key for the film's overall success, is expected to open around 35-40 crore gross number. The other versions are likely to fetch 5-10 crores on the opening day. ## Talking about the Hindi collection of "Adipurush", the advance booking trend indicates, at least, 25-30 crores net on day 1. Mumbai, June 14 - Bollywood superstar Akshay Kumar reunites with his "Rustom" director Tinu Suresh Desai for a rescue thriller film which has been titled The Great Indian Rescue. ## The film is based on a mining engineer Jaswant Singh Gill, who rescued 64 miners at the Raniganj Coalfields in 1989. It is a detailed adaptation of the incident in which Akshay Kumar plays the role of Jaswant Singh Gill while Parineeti Chopra features as the female lead. ## On Wednesday (June 14), the makers confirmed the release date of "The Great Indian Rescue". Mumbai, June 13 - Superstar Prabhas-fronted Adipurush is having a good response in advance booking collection, domestically and overseas. In India, the movie already has sold over 150K tickets for the opening day and is looking to score one of the biggest pre-sales by the time it releases. ## While the epic drama was expected to have good pre-sales in India, it is also seeing encouraging responses in the key international markets. In the USA, it has so far scored approx. $800K (6.60 crores) with 42K advance tickets sold for the opening day, including premiere.## In Australia, the pre-sales for the opening day is approx. A$150K (83 lacs) so far while in the UK, the pre-sales are around £55K (50 lacs) and around €5K (4.5 lacs) in Germany. Ali Abbas Zafar Intends To Make Shahid Kapoor's 'Bloody Daddy' Sequel For Theaters

He came up with three OTT titles, including the recently released "Bloody Daddy" with Shahid Kapoor. ## "Bloody Daddy" was directly released on Jio Cinema and got mixed responses from the viewers. However, the movie left the director's core audiences asking if the movie could have a theatrical release and if there could be a sequel to it. ## During a recent interview with Hindustan Times, Ali Abbas Zafar said that "It's a big compliment when people watch your content and say it's a big-screen experience", however, he cleared that the movie was always going to be an OTT release since it deals with rough scenes which were important for its storytelling. ## The filmmaker further said that he would love to make a sequel to "Bloody Daddy" if the audience feels associated with the characters for a long time. Mumbai, June 12 - Sunny Deol-fronted all-time blockbuster Gadar: Ek Prem Katha showed good collections upon its re-release in its opening weekend. ## The period action drama film had limited re-release in 4K and Dolby Atmos, but after the positive response, the makers increased the showcasing over the weekend which helped to post a good weekend collection of approx. 1.30 crores net collection. ## The movie scored approx. 30 lacs net on the opening day, followed by 45 lacs and 55 lacs on Saturday and Sunday, respectively. Mumbai, June 10 - Director Sudipto Sen, who recently scored a big blockbuster in the form of "The Kerala Story", will next be directing a biopic of Subrata Roy, founder of Sahara India Pariwar. Jayantilal Gada and Sandeep Singh will bankroll the project. ## The movie, titled "Saharasri", was on Subrata Roy's 75th birthday today with the first look motion poster. The announcement video showed a cheque worth ₹250000000000 for 'people of India' signed by Subrata Roy. The period action drama film was originally released in 2001 and became the highest-grossing Indian film. ## After more than two decades, the makers are coming up with its sequel Gadar 2: The Katha Continues which is scheduled to release on August 11 this year. Mumbai, June 9 - Maddock Films' comedy drama Zara Hatke Zara Bachke is heading for a healthy lifetime box office collection after putting a strong hold on its second Friday. ## The movie has a good first-week collection of 37.35 crores net and according to the trends, it scored a marginal jump on the second Friday over Thursday collection with an estimated around 3.30 crores net collection. This takes the total collection to over 40.50 crores net in 8 days. ## The superb second Friday hold (-40% vs first Friday) has confirmed the film's hit status and now, it has shot at crossing the 50 crores net mark by the second Sunday (10 days). Prabhas' 'Adipurush' To Release On Over 6200 Screens In India

Mumbai, June 9 - The countdown has begun for Prabhas-fronted "Adipurush" which releases on June 16 worldwide in multiple languages in 2D, 3D, and IMAX. The movie directed by Om Raut has been one of the most anticipated ones in India and is expected to take a bumper start at the box office. ## With less than one week remaining before the release, the makers are gearing up to open the advance booking of the movie on June 11, Sunday, according to Pinkvilla.
