'RRR' Wins Two Honours At The Critics Choice Awards 2023

Los Angeles, January 16 - SS Rajamouli's mega movie RRR is continuing its awards hunt on the International stage, and ahead of the big Oscars nominations, the epic period action drama bags two more top honors. ## Starring Jr. NTR and Ram Charan, "RRR" has been awarded the Best Foreign Language Film at the Critics Choice Awards 2023. The movie was nominated with Golden Globe winner, "Argentina, 1985", as well as, "All Quiet on the Western Front", "Decision to Leave", "Close", and "Bardo, False Chronicle of a Handful of Truths". ## "Naatu Naatu" from "RRR" has won the Best Song at the awards. It also won the Golden Globe recently in the original song category. Early Estimates: Waltair Veerayya Rocks Mammoth Third Day; Veera Simha Reddy Is Good On Its Fourth Day

Hyderabad, January 15 - Megastar Chiranjeevi hits jackpot on the festival of Sankranthi 2023 in the form of action drama film Waltair Veerayya. Directed by Bobby, the movie has completed its 3-day opening weekend on a blockbuster note. ## After grossing approx. 57 crores in the first two days, "Waltair Veerayya" witnesses another mammoth day at the domestic box office as it scores an estimated 22+ crores gross on its third day/first Sunday to push the total collection to around 80 crores gross. ## Also starring Ravi Teja in a pivotal role, "Waltair Veerayya" scored approx. 35 crores share collection in the Telugu states in the first two days. The share collection on Sunday is likely to be in the range of 12 crores, for around 47 crores share in the opening weekend, which is more than 50% of the total business of the film. ## "Waltair Veerayya" also has a shot at crossing 100 crores gross worldwide in the opening weekend. SSMB 28: Superstar Mahesh Babu's Next To Release In August 2023

Hyderabad, January 15 - Telugu superstar Mahesh Babu reunites with director Trivikram Srinivas for his next film, tentatively titled SSMB 28. The shoot for the same commenced last year but the actor reportedly wasn't happy with the script and how the shoot was progressing as the makers scrapped the shot portions to plan things differently. ## Despite the issues, it didn't take makers too long to rectify those, and now, the makers are ready to start production from January 18, confirmed by producer Naga Vamsi. The movie managed to outdo conservative opening-day expectations and put up very good numbers. ## Directed by Bobby, "Waltair Veerayya" got mixed to positive responses and despite that, the movie sees a phenomenal hold on the second day. As per the early estimates, the film grossed 20+ crores on its second day, dropping below 40%. The share collection on the second day is approx. 13 crores.## The total domestic gross collection of "Waltair Veerayya" after two days is approx. 56 crores gross while the share collection is around 36 crores, which is approx. 40% of the total business of the movie. The advance booking for Sunday is excellent for the movie, indicating another big day at the box office for it. ## Meanwhile, Nandamuri Balakrishna's Veera Simha Reddy had a huge drop of approx. 75% on the second day for 10 crores gross. Nani 30: Telugu Star Nani And Mrunal Thakur Team Up For The First Time

Hyderabad, January 1 - Telugu star Nani celebrated the new year 2023 with the announcement of his 30th film, to be directed by debutant Shouryuv. The announcement of the movie was made official with a glimpse video. ## Tentatively titled Nani30, the movie will feature Mrunal Thakur as the female lead and this will be her first film with Nani and second in Telugu after the blockbuster film "Sita Ramam". Nani 30 will be produced by Mohan Cherukuri (CVM), Dr. Vijender Reddy Teegala, and Murthy K S. ## The makers of New Year released a video, unveiling the world of #Nani30. The video shows Nani sitting on top of a building and clicking photos while discussing with his on-screen daughter about his next project. Nani says he will be shaving his beard as well as his mustache which he grew for Dasara.## The glimpse video gives the impression that the movie will be an emotional family entertainer with a different concept and father-daughter bonding is going to be the USP. Pawan Kalyan's 'Kushi' Re-Release Breaks Box Office Records

Hyderabad, January 1 - Telugu superstar Pawan Kalyan has proved his might at the box office again as his classic blockbuster film Kushi breaks records upon its re-release in theaters on December 31, 2022.## Directed by S. J. Suryah, "Kushi", which was originally released in 2001, got re-released on December 31st and scored a record-breaking collection at the worldwide box office on its first day. The movie records 1.65 crores gross in the Nizam area, which is the biggest ever for a re-released Telugu film. ## In Telugu states, "Kushi" grossed approx. 3.60 crores (revised) on the opening day, which is again an all-time record for a re-released film, beating Pawan Kayan's "Jalsa" which grossed approx. 2.60 crores on the first day. Worldwide, "Kushi" minted approx. 4.10 crores gross (revised), again beating "Jalsa's" 3.20 crores gross for record collection. ## Produced by A.M. Ratnam, "Kushi" will stay in theaters for at least one week and it is expected to score a good number of collections which will go to charity work.
