Megastar Chiranjeevi's 'Waltair Veerayya' To Get Day-And-Date Release In Hindi

Hyderabad, December 27 - It hasn't been a great year for megastar Chiranjeevi with his two released films underperforming at the box office. The megastar now pinned his hope on his next film titled Waltair Veerayya, which is an action-comedy directed by Bobby. ## Produced by Mythri Movie Makers, "Waltair Veerayya" will be hitting theaters worldwide on January 13, 2023, on the occasion of Sankranthi, and now, makers have revealed that it will be date and date release also in Hindi along with the original Telugu version with the same title. ## Chiranjeevi's last film, "Godfather" was also released in Hindi but couldn't score much and was declared a flop. The makers will be hoping for better results at the box office this time around, and considering there is no big Bollywood movie on Sankranthi, "Waltair Veerayya" might make an impact if it gets favorable reviews.## The movie features Chiranjeevi in the title role along with Ravi Teja who plays an extended cameo as ACP Vikram Sagar IPS. Ravi Teja Finally Delivers At The Box Office

Hyderabad, December 26 - It has been tough 22 months for Tollywood star Ravi Teja but the table finally turned in his favor, thanks to the action comedy film Dhamaka which is currently playing in theaters. ## Ravi Teja was the first Tollywood hero who delivered a box-office hit when cinemas re-opened in 2021. The actor's action thriller Krack, which was released in January 2021, grossed approx. 60 crores worldwide and was declared a blockbuster. ## After "Krack", Ravi Teja had to wait for his next release due to the severe covid-19 outbreak, and when his next film "Khiladi" was released in February 2022, things weren't the same this time, and the movie was bombed at the box office. He had hoped to turn the tide with "Ramarao On Duty", released in July, but it turned out to be an even bigger disaster, leaving the makers shocked. ## It was always about one good film for the actor to back in the game and it finally came in the form of "Dhamaka". The Trinadha Rao Nakkina-directed film was released during the Christmas weekend on December 23 and opened to favorable reviews and box office numbers. ## "Dhamaka" had a very good opening weekend and did really well on Monday to put approx. 33 crores gross worldwide in 4 days. It is certain that "Dhamaka" will achieve the break-even target within the first week and will turn a profit for the distributors. It is all about how far it will go at the box office which will decide its final verdict. ## Since there is no notable big Telugu release this year anymore, "Dhamaka" might be the last hit of the year for the Tollywood film industry, unless the remaining films surprise. Mumbai, December 25 - Book My Show, the online movie ticket portal, recently revealed the top 10 movies of 2022 with the highest number of tickets sold on its platform. Yash-fronted "KGF: Chapter 2" has been the most-watched Indian film of 2022 with over 50 million footfalls in theaters. ## Apart from revealing the top 10 movies, Book My Show also revealed which Indian cities witnessed the highest number of footfalls this year. While the portal didn't reveal the number of tickets, it announced that Hyderabad sold the highest number of tickets this year on BMS. ## The Telugu film industry has had great success this year, led by SS Rajamouli's mega-blockbuster "RRR" along with Mahesh Babu's "Sarkaru Vaari Paata", "Bheemla Nayak", "Karthikeya 2", and "Sita Ramam" along with many others. Kannada biggie, "KGF: Chapter 2" also did excellent business in Telugu states. ## The silicon valley of India, Bengaluru was also the top contributor to the Indian film industry as BMS announced it sold the second-highest number of movie tickets in the city in 2022. The Kannada film industry has been the biggest box office contributor this year, thanks to the biggest grosser of the year "KGF 2", along with the surprise monster blockbuster "Kantara", "777 Charlie", and "Vikrant Rona". ## The Hindi film industry wasn't top of its game in 2022 but still, the key contribution from the films like "Brahmastra", "The Kashmir Files", "Drishyam 2", and "Bhool Bhulaiyaa 2" along with the huge contribution from the Hindi versions of "KGF 2", "RRR", and "Kantara", Mumbai scored the 3rd highest number of footfalls this year, as per BMS. The aforementioned films also attracted Delhi NCR audience as it ranked 4th in the list. ## The Tamil film industry also performed well, led by two 400+ crores grossers - "Ponniyin Selvan Part - 1" and "Vikram" this year as Chennai city scored 5th highest number of tickets sold. Mumbai, December 22 - Gujarati-language coming-of-age drama film, Chhello Show (Last Film Show) has been shortlisted in the 'International Feature Film' category at the Oscars 2023. ## The "Last Film Show" was selected as India's official entry for the Academy Awards 2023 over public favorite SS Rajamouli's mega-blockbuster RRR. Directed by Pan Nalin, the movie will now be competing with 14 other films in the international feature film category to grab a place in the top 5 films, which will be announced on January 24.## The 'Naatu Naatu' song from "RRR" has been shortlisted in the original song category, becoming the first-ever Indian song ever to be shortlisted for the Academy Awards. However, the movie received disappointments in other categories. ## "RRR" was submitted in 15 general categories, including Best Film. RRR Becomes The Highest-Grossing Indian Film In Japan, Beats Rajinikanth's 'Muthu'

Tokyo, December 13 - Superstar Rajinikanth's "Muthu's" long-standing box office record has finally been broken as SS Rajamouli's mega-blockbuster RRR has become the highest-grossing Indian film in Japan. ## "RRR", starring Jr. NTR, and Ram Charan has completed its 8th week at the Japan box office and has grossed ¥410 million (Rs. 24.88 crores) with 271K footfalls so far, which is also the highest for an Indian film. Pawan Kalyan Team Up With 'Saaho' Director Sujeeth For His Next

Hyderabad, December 4 - Telugu superstar Pawan Kalyan is currently working on director Krish Jagarlamudi's period action drama film "Hari Hara Veera Mallu", which is slated to hit screens in the summer of 2023. ## There was suspense over Pawan Kalyan's next movie after HHVM as he is also active in politics, but it seems he is in the mood to do more films quickly after the ongoing film. The superstar has finalized his next film, which will be directed by "Saaho" director Sujeeth, who has been one of Kalyan's cult fans.## Sujeeth's last directorial was "Saaho" which was released in 2019 and starred Prabhas. Though the movie did business of around 450 crores worldwide, it didn't meet high expectations. Since then, Sujeeth has been planning to come back strongly and he finally lends Power Star for his next. It will be produced by DVV Entertainment, which recently produced India's 4th highest-grossing film of all time, "RRR". ## The shoot of Kalyan-Sujeeth's film will start in 2023 after wrapping up HHVM. Meanwhile, PSPK will also reunite with director Harish Shankar for a new film that will be produced by Mythri Movie Makers. Ram Charan Stresses On Not Doing A Lot of Remakes

Hyderabad, November 30 - Telugu superstar Ram Charan is not keen on doing a lot of remakes as he thinks that due to OTT platforms, the recall value of remakes has dropped. It has been seen in the recent box office performances where except for a couple of movies, remakes have failed badly across languages.## Ram Charan, who is currently shooting for director Shankar's political thriller film, recently produced "Godfather", starring Chiranjeevi. It was the remake of Mohanlal's Malayalam movie "Lucifer". The movie did decent business of little over 100 crores worldwide but that is mainly because of the star power of Chiranjeevi. ## "Godfather" was expected to do very well but because its dubbed version is already available on OTT, the movie couldn't give rich rewards to the makers. Ram Charan said during a recent interview that he is not keen on doing remakes and if he does, he would make sure that the original movie is not available in dubbed versions.## "I'm not sure I'd continue doing a lot of remakes. If I did a remake, I'd probably ask the original's producer not to release it on OTT. I might do a remake under those conditions. Otherwise, we'd all prefer to do original scripts in the future", he said.## Ram Charan, who headlined the multistarrer "RRR" directed by SS Rajamouli, recently confirmed his next film after Shankar's "RC15". Adivi Sesh's 'Hit 2' Pre-Release Business Details And Break-Even Target

Hyderabad, November 27 - Adivi Sesh's crime thriller Hit: The Second Case, which is the sequel to 2020's "Hit" movie, is one week away from its release in theaters. The trailer of the movie was recently launched and it received an anonymously positive response from the audience. ## Adivi Sesh's box office market has widened since after his last film Major, which was a big blockbuster. The makers have high expectations from his upcoming movie, and hence, the pre-release business of the movie is locked in a record price for Sesh. ## According to Telugu media reports, the theatrical rights of the movie in Telugu states have been sold in approx. 15 crores while the rest of India and overseas rights have been valued at approx. 3 crores. The movie will need to collect more than 18 crores to achieve the break-even target and earn a hit status. ## The aforementioned numbers are big for a tier-2 actor but keeping the recent box office track record of Adivi Sesh's films + the sequel factor of a hit movie, it should be an easy target for "Hit 2" if the talks are positive, which is very much expected. The movie will not have any major competition at the box office for two weeks and that should be enough for it to reach its target.## "Hit 2" is directed by Sailesh Kolanu who also directed the first film as well as the Hindi remake of it. RRR Japan Box Office Collection: Creates Another Record For An Indian Movie

Mumbai, November 25 - The victorious march of SS Rajamouli's ridiculously epic action drama RRR continues at the Japan box office as the movie is climbing new heights there with each passing day. ## The movie, starring Jr. NTR and Ram Charan in the lead, has completed 5 weeks since its release in Japan. In 34 days at the box office, "RRR" has grossed ¥305 million (17.90 crores). It is the fastest Indian movie ever to reach ¥300 million in Japan, beating "Baahubali 2's" record.## Produced by DVV Entertainment, "RRR" has generated approx. 204K footfalls in 34 days and the makers have claimed that it has surpassed Rajamouli's own film "Baahubali 2's" lifetime collection to become the second highest-grossing Indian movie in Japan after Rajinikanth's "Muthu". ## "RRR" is having a solid run so far at the Japan box office, and with this current pace, it should easily cross "Muthu", which grossed ¥400 million, to become the biggest Indian movie of all time there. RC 16: Ram Charan Finalizes His Next After Shankar's Film

Hyderabad, November 23 - Tollywood superstar Ram Charan is busy with the shoot of director Shankar's yet untitled political thriller film, "RC15". The actor was supposed to team up with the "Jersey" director Gowtam Tinnanuri for "RC 16", however, that movie has reportedly been shelved as Charan was not satisfied with the script.## Now, according to the latest reports, the "RRR" star will be doing "Uppena" director Buchi Babu Sana next. The movie is touted to be a sports drama, along the lines of Aamir Khan's "Dangal". The script has reportedly been completed and makers are planning to take the movie on floors after Sankranthi 2023. ## The official confirmation from the makers of "RC 16" is yet to be made, but it is said that Sathish Kilaru will be producing this big-budget film. Hanuman Teaser: An Ambitious Attempt At India's Original Superhero

Hyderabad, November 21 - Tollywood filmmaker Prasanth Varma's next HanuMan with actor Teja Sajja is in post-production. The shoot of the movie was done a long time back but due to the heavy VFX, the post-production work is taking a bit longer time than expected.## Meanwhile, as the post-production is happening, the makers released the first teaser of the superhero movie, which is based on the epic character of the epic Ramayana, Lord Hanuman, but the story is based on current times. The teaser gives a brief view into the world created by Varma, and it can be termed an ambitious attempt at India's original superhero.## Made on a relatively lower budget than other VFX-heavy films, the "HanuMan" teaser is nothing short of a visual extravaganza.
