SSMB29: Mahesh Babu's Film With SS Rajamouli To Be Based On Real-Life Incident

Mumbai, October 18 - After making the movie-lovers across the world fall in love with his period action drama film, RRR, maverick filmmaker SS Rajamouli has set his next project with Telugu superstar Mahesh Babu. Aiming to make it a global movie, SSMB29 will be Rajamouli's maiden film with Mahesh Babu. ## It was reported that "SSMB29" will be a jungle-based adventure movie, essentially an African forest action-drama. Now, during a recent interview, acclaimed writer KV Vijayendra Prasad revealed that the storyline of the movie will be inspired by a real-life incident and will have an adventure backdrop.## The movie will be produced by Arka Media, which produced Rajamouli's "Baahubali" franchise. Meanwhile, as per the latest buzz, Bollywood actress Deepika Padukone is in talks to play the female lead opposite Mahesh Babu in the movie. Thalapathy Vijay Set Up His Next Film After Lokesh Kangaraj's 'Thalapathy 67'?

Hyderabad, October 18 - Thalapathy Vijay is almost done with the shoot of his maiden Telugu film Vaarasudu which is also being shot in Tamil as Varisu. The movie is being directed by Vamshi Paidipally and produced by Dil Raju and is slated for Pongal 2023 release.## After "Varisu", Thalapathy Vijay is committed to his Thalapathy 67 with director Lokesh Kangaraj, which will be a pan-India film. The shoot for the same is expected to start by December this year. Meanwhile, the latest talk in the town is that Thalapathy Vijay has also greenlit "Thalapathy 68". ## It has already been reported previously that Thalapathy would be reuniting with director Atlee for a mass entertainer, and now, according to the Telugu360 report, Telugu production house Mythri Movie Makers will produce this Pan India film. Hyderabad, October 15 - After months of wait, superstar Prabhas' film with director Maruthi is finally reportedly kickstarting its shoot on Monday with a puja in a Hyderabad studio. It will be a short schedule with Prabhas. ## According to the latest buzz in Tollywood, Prabhas will surprise his fans by playing a double role. It is said that the narrative of the movie, tentatively titled Raja Deluxe, is set in two distinct timelines, and it will reportedly see Prabhas playing the role of a grandfather and his grandson. ## Produced by DVV Entertainment, "Raja Deluxe" is touted to be a horror comedy film that will reportedly feature 3 heroines. Chennai, October 13 - Two of the biggest stars of Tamil cinema, Thalapathy Vijay and Ajith Kumar are shooting for their next films, titled Varisu, and Thunivu, respectively. The shooting of both films is in the last leg as they are getting ready for release in 2023. ## Thalapathy Vijay's "Varisu", which is directed by Vamshi Paidipally, is a Tamil-Telugu bilingual movie and it has already been announced to release on Pongal 2023, mostly on January 12. And now, the latest news is that the makers of "Thunivu" are also eyeing the Pongal release, mostly on January 13. ## "Thunivu" is directed by H. Vinoth and produced by Boney Kapoor in association with Zee Studios. Pongal has always lured Indian filmmakers, especially South filmmakers, to release their films in theaters and make the most out of it. Hyderabad, October 8 - Megastar Chiranjeevi's Godfather scores a jump of around 20% on its 4th day/first Saturday for an estimated 12-13 crores gross, pushing total domestic gross collection to around 60 crores. ## The jump on Saturday is good but the makers would have liked a bigger one considering the strong reviews and positive word of mouth. Hyderabad, October 8 - Veteran Telugu star Nandamuri Balakrishna scored a super hit with the action thriller film Akhanda in December last year. The movie marked NBK's third film with director Boyapati Srinu and it went on to become the highest-grossing film in Balakrishna's career, grossing over 100 crores at the worldwide box office. ## Nandamuri Balakrishna is now gearing up for his next mass entertainer with director Gopichand Malineni. Box Office: Godfather Third Day/First Friday Early Estimates

Hyderabad, October 7 - Megastar Chiranjeevi's political action thriller film Godfather is doing really well after coming from the Holiday release and heading towards a very good first weekend at the domestic box office. ## The Mohan Raja-directed movie that marks Bollywood superstar Salman Khan's Telugu debut scores an estimated 9.50-10.50 crores gross, including approx. 80 lakh in Hindi on its third day/first Friday, dropping just around 30% from yesterday. The total domestic gross collection reaches approx. 48 crores in three days. ## In the Telugu states, "Godfather" scores an estimated 5-6 crores Share collection on Friday, which takes the total AP/TG share collection to over 26 crores. Hyderabad, October 6 - Megastar Chiranjeevi's political action thriller Godfather has had a fantastic hold at the box office on its second day/first Thursday after a good first day. ## The Mohan Raja-directed film has found appreciation unlike Chiranjeevi's last film "Acharya" which crashed badly on the second day. "Godfather" witnesses an expected drop of just 35% from the first day for an estimated 15-16 crores gross on the second day. ## The movie, which marks Salman Khan's debut in Telugu, grossed approx. 13 crores share in Telugu on the first day, and with a drop of around 35%, it minted an estimated 7-8 share collection. Hyderabad, October 5 - Megastar Chiranjeevi and Salman Khan's Godfather has taken a very good opening at the box office despite the direct competition with Nagarjuna Akkineni's The Ghost. ## Directed by Mohan Raja, the political action thriller film scored an estimated 20-35 crores gross in both Telugu and Hindi languages. Chiranjeevi's last film Acharya had opened to approx. 43 crores gross but it had no competition.## "Godfather" grossed approx. 10.50 crores worth share collection in the Telugu states on the first day. It has been valued at approx. 90 crores worldwide and will need to hold well for at least two weeks to achieve the break even. Unlike "Acharya", the reviews and audience word of the mouth are positive for "Godfather" and this should help it achieve its target. ## Meanwhile, the Hindi version of the film has underperformed, which was very much expected. As per the early estimates, "Godfather" has minted approx. 80 lakh net in Hindi. The lack of promotion in Hindi and the film being a remake have probably played a part in less footfall for the Hindi version. ## On the other hand, Nagarjuna Akkineni's "The Ghost" takes a decent start considering the clash with "Godfather". Going by the early estimates, the action thriller film has grossed approx. 4-4.50 crores on the first day, including approx. 2 crores share.
