Chennai, November 17 - Kollywood star Suriya's Kanguva has an underwhelming extended opening weekend at the box office, considering the hype and craze it had among the fans before release. The movie scored a good opening but it has been a downfall since then. ## The movie scored a minor jump on Sunday, however, a big jump which was needed after the underwhelming first 3 days, was missing. According to the early estimates, the fantasy action thriller scored an estimated 12-13 crores gross collection in all versions on its 4th day. ## In Tamil Nadu, the movie scored more or less in the similar range as yesterday for an estimated 5.50 crores gross while showing a minor jump in most of the other areas. The total first 4-day weekend collection is around 64 crores gross in India, which is underwhelming. ## The negative word of mouth has affected Kanguva big time during the first weekend and now, a rebound looks difficult from hereon. Hyderabad, November 17 - Actor Dulquer Salmaan, who has done the majority of his films in the Malayalam cinema since debuting in this industry back in 2012, finally scored his maiden 100 crores grosser that too from a straight Telugu film, titled Lucky Bashkar. ## Directed by Venky Atluri, the period crime drama film topped this magical box office milestone on its 18th day (3rd Sunday), becoming the first movie of Dulquer and the second for director Atluri (after Vaathi/Sir) to achieve the feat. ## Lucky Bashkar grossed approximately 76 crores domestically and 26.50 crores overseas for a worldwide cume total of 102.50 crores through the third Sunday. It has also become the 6th Telugu movie of 2024 to breach this box office mark. ## The Telugu film industry has been lucky for Dulquer Salmaan who has a 100% success rate in Tollywood. The award-winning actress took to Instagram and shared her thoughts on Suriya's latest movie Kanguva and how it has been made to suffer with hate campaigns by media and certain fraternities. ## While admitting that Kanguva is not a perfect film with some issues, especially in the first half-hour, the actress said it is also not a bad movie that deserves such a high level of negativity. The movie was released on November 14 and was bashed left, right, and centre on social media which has already affected the box office of the film. ## Speaking about the same, Jyotika said in a long note on Instagram, "I'm surprised with the negative reviews from media and certain fraternities, as it's not done by them to this high level for the most unintellectual big budget films I have seen earlier with age-old stories, where women r stalked, double meaning dialogues r spoken and have the most over the top action sequences".## The actor-producer further said that the media intentionally ignored the positive side while reviewing the film and that has made her wonder largely whether one should ever read, listen or believe reviewers after all. ## "It's sad that they chose this much negativity for Kanguva on day 1, even before the first show was over (seemed more like multiple group propagandas) when it actually deserves applause for the concept and effort taken by the team to create 3D and such a magnificent visual", she added.## Directed by Siva and produced by Studio Green, Kanguva opened to record numbers for actor Suriya but dropped heavily in the next 2 days. The controversy erupted when Dhanush denied permission to use the footage of his production venture Naanum Rowdy Dhaan (2015) in Nayanthara's upcoming Netflix docuseries, Nayanthara: Beyond The Fairy Tale. ## In a lengthy note to the actor, Nayanthara accused Dhanush of demanding a 10 crore sum for using a mere 3 seconds of a video clip from the movie in the documentary. Mumbai, November 15 - Ajay Devgn is teaming up with Mission Mangal director Jagan Shakti for an action-adventure film. The yet-untitled movie will be produced by Luv Ranjan who reunites with the actor after De De Pyaar De and its upcoming sequel.## According to the report by Peepingmoon.com, the yet-untitled film is a book adaptation. It is said that the movie is based on Aseem Arora and Richa Ganesh's 2018 book, Ranger. Set against the backdrop of Bandhavgarh's sprawling wilderness, the book follows Ranger Singh, a rookie forest officer, stepping into a world rife with corruption, neglect, and an alarming tiger crisis.## Aseem Arora is adapting the book himself, however, the movie does not entirely adhere to the original material, as the makers are opting for an Indiana Jones-style narrative to make it more commercially appealing, as per Peepingmoon.com. ## Director Jagan Shakti intends to mount the movie on a massive scale with a promise to deliver a top-notch cinematic experience for the audience. The pre-production for the film has already commenced and is going on at a brisk pace as the makers are aiming to take the film on floors by January 2025. ## Ajay will start Jagan's film after completing Son of Sardar 2 which is expected to be wrapped soon.
