Chennai, April 19 - Thala Ajith Kumar's action comedy Good Bad Ugly has surpassed 200 crores gross worldwide, becoming the first Tamil movie of the year. The movie entered this prestigious club on its 9th day as one of the fastest Tamil titles to do so. ## GBU has been doing excellent business since its opening day and eventually stormed past the double century at the global box office. In the 9 days so far, the film has grossed approximately 205+ crores, and with this, it has also become the biggest grosser for the Tamil superstar, beating Viswasam and Thunivu. ## In India, the blockbuster has grossed around 148 crores, which includes around 123 crores gross collection in the home state, Tamil Nadu. It is now Ajith Kumar's second biggest grosser in the state behind Viswasam. Overseas, the film has minted an estimated 57 crores so far. ## Good Bad Ugly is expected to see big gains on the second Saturday and Sunday, and at this point, it looks certain to enter the 250 crores club, which will be the first for AK. It kicked off in mid-July 2024 and wrapped up in mid-March 2025. The filmmaker maintained his efficacy in completing his film shoots in a planned manner without causing delays. ## As the filming is done, the real question now is when the film will hit the big screens. Chennai, March 9 - Actor Pradeep Ranganathan's coming-of-age comedy-drama Dragon has become the highest-grossing Tamil movie of 2025 at the domestic box office and is to become globally at the end of the third Sunday by beating Ajith Kumar's Vidaamuyarchi. ## Directed by Ashwath Marimuthu, Dragon has topped 100 crores gross in India on its 16th day (3rd Saturday) and become the first Tamil title of the year to do so. It has surpassed the domestic gross total of Vidaamuyarchi (96 crores gross) to be the number 1 Tamil title of the year.## The domestic collection of 101.50+ crores gross of Dragon includes 68.50 crores gross in Tamil Nadu which is the second highest of the year after Vidaamuyarchi (78 crores gross). Additionally, Dragon has had a superb run in Telugu states so far, grossing approximately 19 crores, followed by around 10 crores in Karnataka, and 4+ crores gross in the rest of the domestic market.## Worldwide, Dragon has grossed approximately 132 crores, including around 30.50 crores at the overseas box office. The film will surpass Vidaamuyarchi's total worldwide collection of 136 crores at the end of the 17thd day to become the biggest Tamil grosser of the year, so far.## Pradeep Ranganathan - A Star in the Making?## The success of Dragon might be the birth of a star in the making, Pradeep Ranganathan. He started his career as a YouTuber, and when his time came, he rose to the occasion on the big stage called cinema. Apart from being an actor, Pradeep is also a writer and director, and he made his directorial debut with Comali (2019) which was a blockbuster.## Pradeep made his acting debut with Comali, but as a lead hero, he debuted with the 2022 romantic comedy, Love Today which emerged as a huge success with 83+ crores gross collection worldwide. And now, in his just second film, the actor has debuted in the 100 crores club, which is a huge achievement to claim.
