Mumbai, October 21 - As Akshay Kumar is gearing up for the release of his upcoming cop-drama film "Sooryavanshi", the talks about the box office potential of the film have started making noise. In normal times, this Rohit Shetty directorial could have easily become the highest-grossing film of all time for Akshay Kumar, but because of the covid-19 pandemic, things have become uncertain so is the box office success. ## However, despite the current circumstances, the movie is expected to do very well at the box office. The recent data by Ormax media suggests that the confidence among movie lovers has increased significantly to visit cinemas for the first time in the pandemic era. The success of the country on the vaccination front has also ensured that things are getting back to normal and visiting cinemas is safe for the public.## Meanwhile, there is chatter among the biz analysts and fans regarding the box office potential of "Sooryavanshi" and how much the film could make on its first day. For Akshay Kumar, "Mission Mangal" holds the record of taking the biggest opening at the box office with Rs. 29.16 crores net in India. ## Breaking "Mission Mangal's" record may not be possible for "Sooryavanshi" as there are many factors are currently against it including the 50% seating cap in theaters. However, with out-and-out mass appealing, Sooryavanshi might come close to Akshay's second-best opening film "Gold" which earned Rs. 25.25 crores on the first day. ## The movie, however, should cross "Kesari's" opening day collection which is Rs. 21.06 crores and stands at number three in the list. Mumbai, October 21 - It has been a long time since filmmaker Karan Johar announced his passion project "Takht" and even announced the star cast of it. The historical drama film was supposed to hit the floors in March 2020, but the covid-19 pandemic spoiled the party and the movie was put on hold indefinitely. ## With no development since the announcement, many thought the filmmaker might have dropped the idea of making this film. However, it was recently reported that the movie is still on and will take off at the right time. And now, the filmmaker himself clarified that "Takht" has not been shelved and will go on floors after his ongoing film "Rocky Aur Rani Ki Prem Kahani" starring Alia Bhatt and Ranveer Singh in the lead. ## In a conversation with Film Companion, Karan Johar explained the reason behind the project getting delayed and also said that it will be his immediate next film after the currently on floors, romantic-comedy RRKPK. "No, I am going to make that movie right after Rocky Aur Rani. I can't let that getaway. That film is a piece of my heart. It's got two and a half years of my prep work on it. We were rearing to go", Karan told. ## "I still remember we were starting on April 24 when the pandemic hit us in March. The film was so vast, voluminous and on a large scale, that on a daily basis, it needed a thousand people on set. It was that kind of film", he added. ## Calling the film his passion project, Karan further said, "I will always say, Rocky Aur Rani is my excitement project, but Takht is my passion project. And you cannot run away from your passion. Shahid Kapoor To Lead T Series & Guilty By Association's 'Bull'

Mumbai, October 21 - It was recently reported that actor Shahid Kapoor would be teaming up with producer Bhushan Kumar again after their blockbuster outing "Kabir Singh". The latest development is that the movie has been titled "Bull", which is set in the 1980s and inspired by events from the life of Brigadier Bulsara.## "Bull" will jointly be produced by Bhushan Kumar's T-Series and Amar Butala and Garima Mehta's Guilty By Association. The in-demand duo of writers, Aseem Arrora and Parveez Shaikh have written the story and screenplay while Aditya Nimbalkar will be making his directorial debut with this film, set to go on floors in early 2022. ## "Bull is a full-blown action film inspired by real events from the life of Brigadier Bulsara", said Shahid Kapoor (via Deadline). "It is a privilege to play a paratrooper who leads his boys through a historic and selfless mission that has now become iconic for its precision and bravado. The opportunity to play a paratrooper is exhilarating and truly an honour". ## Producer Bhushan Kumar, who has a number of big titles in the pipeline, express that he is happy to reunite with Shahid after Kabir Singh and also delighted to join hands with Guilty By Association for the first time.## "I am happy to collaborate with Shahid again after the fantastic performance of Kabir Singh at the box office. Mumbai, October 19 - Actress and entrepreneur Shilpa Shetty and Raj Kundra has filed a defamation case of Rs. 50 crores against actress Sherlyn Chopra, according to a report by India Today. ## Chopra had earlier filed a sexual harassment case against businessman Raj Kundra and recently slapped another case against Shilpa and Raj with the Mumbai Police, accusing the duo of sexually and mentally harassing her. ## In response to Chopra's allegations, the husband-wife duo called her allegations fake, frivolous, and baseless without any evidence and in return, they slapped defamation case for maligning their image. ## "The entire allegations made by Ms. Sherlyn Chopra against Mr. Raj Kundra and Ms. Shilpa Shetty Kundra, are concocted, false, fake, frivolous, baseless, without any evidence, even to Ms. Sherlyn Chopra’s knowledge, and have been made with an ulterior motive to defame and extort money", read the statement issued by Shilpa and Raj, according to India Today. ## Sherlyn Chopra had earlier said that Raj Kundra and his firm's creative director repeatedly followed her to work for the mobile application named 'HotShots'. Mumbai, October 19 - Arun Govil, known for playing Lord Ram in the iconic and epic tv serial, Ramayan, has reportedly been roped in to reprise the role in Akshay Kumar and Pankaj Tripathi starrer "Oh My God" sequel. Govil has become synonymous with the character of Lord Ram after playing the iconic role in Ramanand Sagar's 1987 TV show. ## Directed by Amit Rai and produced by Ashwin Varde and Akshay Kumar, "Oh My God 2" is the follow-up to the 2012 blockbuster film starring Akshay and Paresh Rawal in the leading roles. The sequel will feature Akshay reprising his role of Lord Krishna with Pankaj Tripathi stepping into the shoes of Paresh Rawal. Yami Gautam is said to be the leading lady in the film. ## According to India Today, Akshay Kumar was keen to bring Arun Govil on board to play Lord Ram. "There is no other face more recognizable to play Lord Ram than Arun Govil. It was a decision that the makers took unanimously", said the source to India Today.## Meanwhile, OMG 2 will be different from the first part. While the first part was based on religious fanaticism and superstitions, the sequel will reportedly be based on the Indian education system with Pankaj Tripathi taking the center stage. The shooting of the film has started recently and is expected to begin next schedule on October 23 in Ujjain. ## Akshay Kumar, on the other hand, has several films in the pipeline.
