Delhi, August 10, 2021: It was the day of the big screen premiere of Sidharth Malhotra and Kiara Advani starrer, Shershaah, ahead of its worldwide release on August 12 on Amazon Prime Video. The makers held a special screening for VIPs at Chanakya PVR theater in Delhi last night (August 9) for army captain and Param Veer Chakra Awardee, Vikram Batra's biopic. ## Directed by Vishnu Varadhan and produced by Karan Johar's Dharma Productions in association with Kaash Entertainment, the makers booked three screens in the plex - one for Captain Vikram Batra's family clan, the other for Army personnel, and the third for Sidharth Malhotra and his friends-n-relatives.## Since the movie is very much concerned with the Indian army, the reaction from army officials was largely positive and they loved the movie. Mumbai, August 10, 2021: Earlier in the day (August 10), Farhan Akhtar announced his next film that will mark her directorial return after Don 2 (2021). Led by an all-female cast including Priyanka Chopra, Alia Bhatt, and Katrina Kaif, the movie titled, Jee Le Zaraa, will be a road-trip film that will go on floors in mid next year and will hit cinemas in 2023. ## A few hours after the movie announcement, Priyanka Chopra took to Instagram and recalled that it was a movie that was planned last year in February before the covid-19 pandemic forced a strict nationwide lockdown. She shared a picture with Alia Bhatt and Katrina Kaif which was clicked in February 2020 when they first met to discuss a film with an all-female cast. ## Priyanka Chopra revealed that she wanted to do a very different Hindi film as soon as possible after The Sky Is Pink, and called up her 2 real friends, Katrina and Alia to discuss the same. They approached Farhan with the idea who was coincidentally planning a female road trip movie at the same time. ## "Let's rewind, to me musing about wanting to do another Hindi movie ASAP, on an unusually rainy night in Mumbai in Nov 2019", PC wrote on Insta. "But it had to be the right one - different, cool, never been done before… I thought. The idea grew into a movie helmed by an all-female cast. There are not enough Hindi movies that are female multi-starrers. This led to an impulsive phone call… to my 2 real friends about this idea that involved 3 on-screen girlfriends. A celebration of friendship we called it!!". ## "Katrina, Alia, and I enthusiastically met in February 2020 (as seen in this picture), just before the world shut down, to discuss who we could trust to bring this vision to life for us and our choice was unanimous… Farhan and Ritesh, Zoya and Reema. The star filmmaker announced his next directorial, titled - Jee Le Zaraa, boost with a solid cast including Priyanka Chopra, Alia Bhatt, and Katrina Kaif, coming together for the first time. ## Having already explored the road trip films with Dil Chahta Hai and Zindagi Na Milegi Dobara, Farhan Akshatar's Jee Le Zaraa falls in the same genre with the girls this time. The announcement came on the 20th anniversary of Akhtar's directorial debut movie, Dil Chahta Hai. ## Jee Le Zaraa is written by Zoyaa Akhtar, Farhan Akhtar, and Reema Kagti while it will be produced by Reema Kagti, Zoya Akhtar, Ritesh Sidhwani, and Farhan Akhtar under their banners Tiger Baby, and Excel Entertainment. The film is based on legendary football coach Syed Abdul Rahim, played by Ajay Devgn, who coached the Indian football team from 1950 to 1963. It is directed by Amit Ravindernath Sharma and produced by Zee Studios and Bayview Projects LLP. The romantic thriller is being helmed by Veere Di Wedding fame Shashanka Ghosh while Ekta Kapoor and Jay Shewakramani have bankrolled this under their production banner Balaji Telefilms and Northern Lights Films. ## And now, the leading lady of the film has been finalized to romance Freddy aka Kartik. According to reports, Jawaani Jaaneman actress, Alaya F, has signed the film. It is Alaya's second film under Ekta Kapoor's banner. She was recently announced to star in the Hindi remake of the Kannada movie, U-Turn. ## Freddy is Alaya's third film. She made her debut with Jawaani Jaaneman and later singed U-Turn. She won the Filmfare Award for the best female debut in Jawaani Jaaneman. Freddy is her first collaboration with Kartik. The script of the film is panned by Parveez Shaikh and Aseem Arora. ## Meanwhile, Kartik Aaryan is excited and looking forward to bringing the romantic thriller to life. The movie is directed by Vishnuvardhan who mainly works in Tamil cinema. Shershaah is his maiden Hindi film as a director. ## Coming with a background of directing films in Tamil and Telugu, Vishnuvardhan shared his experience of working with Kiara Advani in Shershaah, where he finds Kiara one of the smartest and most intelligent actors he has met. ## "When you get the right cast, 50 percent of your battle is won. Srinagar, August 6, 2021: Paradise on earth, Jammu & Kashmir used to be one of the top shooting destinations for filmmakers. However, due to the tensions in the region, the filmmakers began to avoid shooting here. And now, to make J&K a shooting hub, the government is working towards it taking important steps to invite filmmakers to shoot their projects. ## In this process, Lt governer of J&K Manoj Sinha, the presence of actor Aamir Khan, filmmaker Rajkumar Hirani, and producer Mahaveer Jain launched a new Jammu & Kashmir's Film Policy-2021 in Srinagar, on Thursday (August 5). ## "I invite filmmakers from across the world to explore the beauty of J&K. At the same time, also avail a host of incentives, besides world-class facilities", Sinha said. The government has set up a single-window clearance mechanism; prepared equipment, location, and talent directories, besides offering a host of incentives for filmmakers coming to the UT.## The policy will facilitate overall growth of the film industry in the region, setting up of J&K Film Development Council, a website for talent pool and shooting destinations; development of shooting locales, infrastructure for film screening, the revival of closed cinema halls, upgrade of cinema halls, setting up of multiplexes and cinema halls, destination marketing, J&K film festival, and restoration and preservation of J&K films.## "The new policy also aims at maximizing the potential of promising local talent and creating livelihood opportunities. The policy has been drafted after consultation with experts and in-depth study of similar policies of other states/UTs. Suggestions of renowned personalities of the film industry have also been incorporated", the L-G added. ## Sinha said to assist in film shooting, they have manpower of more than 1,500 trained artists which will also provide an opportunity to the local talent.
